Cool greys live alongside highlights of orange, turquoise and lime green. Colourful polka dots pop up in places, whilst spaghetti junction has been reimagined as a custom design across the carpets. Different fabrics combine throughout, from old tan leather and vintage metal, to textured wool. Furnishings and lighting follow the space age shapes of the sixties, whilst vivid vintage prints of iconic industrial Birmingham structures hang on the walls.
Anchored in the heart of England, Birmingham has been the UK's central hub for decades. The original Mini Cooper was doing laps of spaghetti junction long before heading out on any Italian Jobs, and here is where it was built too. Birmingham also has the second busiest UK airport and train station, and more canals than Venice. It's a city that's been perpetually in motion since long before Cliff was setting off on his Summer Holidays in a red double decker. A multitude of different characters have passed through Birmingham, and our designer has brought this fusion to life in the hotel. All with a retro nod to the era when travel was funky and a little bit cheeky too.
Check yourself into our lounge bar, which is styled like an aeroplane wing, then perch yourself on 50s style diner seating for a bite, or on our bar stools with real bike pedals underneath. Any little passengers can hop on board a toy car, plane or double-decker bus too. If this gives you a chance to put your feet up, then it'll be on tan and leather stools. And if you want to refuel, simply stroll over to the old petrol pump and next to it you'll find our coffee machine. With everything in one place, the world really is at your fingertips with this hotel.
