Nice entry lobby with friendly staff. Room was clean and modern but too small. We had a very comfortable bed with good view. No phone in the room to contact reception is a big mistake.Location was good with a tram outside the door.

I stayed at the hotel recently for business and chose it primarily on price and location. The room itself was fine - modern and clean, although rather small. The bathroom, while also nice and modern, was a full open tiled room with just a shower curtain - it felt like a stylish hospital bathroom. Overall I couldn't really fault things, although I had a breakfast experience much like many others, which disappointed me. I wasn't given a voucher at check in - but was rather pointed in the direction of the closed café. That caused some wasted time next morning as I first lined up to order with others in the morning rush, only to be told to go and see the hotel reception again. Then once I had the magic voucher, what was already a strange menu of Asian inspired western breakfast items, got very small as I was told "these are the hotel breakfast choices" But this stage I could only laugh as I was told an egg would cost $1 extra, and my large flat white coffee would cost me $2 extra - apparently the stock coffee was 1980's plunger style or something..... Whilst I appreciate that the café operations are out of the direct control of the hotel, the reality is that as soon as the hotel points its guests to the café, it becomes a (poor) reflection back on the hotel. Overall, the hotel was fine for the price - just don't expect a nice standard hotel breakfast.

Small rooms but comfortable and you get what you pay for. Clean room, nice bed, no fridge but not a problem for a cheap overnight stay in Melbourne. Breakfast included which was limited menu but a yummy bacon and egg sandwich was perfect

The breakfast menu lacking as very limited choices and no cereal options from prepaid vouchers. The room was small and had no fridge or microwave. The room was neat and clean. Limited choice of welcome drink.

Rooms are very small but modern, very clean and very comfortable. Walkable to CBD. Parking is tricky. Can't be pre-booked and not many spots available. We had to park out front and feed meter at 7.15am (thus losing our sleep in). Breakfast is ordinary too. Wouldn't bother with it.

Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms spotless. I forgot my good pair of shoes and only had runners on. I had to go to the casino that night in the suit and it was to late to buy shoes anywhere. The staff went out of their way to provide me with a pair of shoes for the night.

Quiet and clean room with good mattress. Free Wi-Fi which is very important to business people. Location is great with tram stopping right in front of the hotel. Cafes and restaurants are available close to the hotel . Will stay there again .

The room was very clean and well maintained, a bit on the small side but that was oK for my requirements. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location is very handy for the CBD and for using trams for getting about.

We arrived at the hotel after the two overnight flights from Glasgow hoping that we could leave our luggage and go into Melbourne until our room was ready. Much to our delight, ee Werner off erend a choice of rooms straight away so we we're able to shower and change clothes before visiting Melbourne. The hotel was only a short walk from the CBD so was an excellent choice.

We stayed a couple of nights. the room was reasonably small, but adequate. Close to Lyon, Melbourne uni and Victoria market. The hallways could have done with a clean. The first night we were woken from a deep sleep by a staff member knocking on the door wanting to know who we were...very strange.

Hotel was a standard city centre offering. My opinion affected by comparison with sister hotel in Adelaide where I stayed for 4 nights prior. That said front desk staff were really good and helpful and I couldn't have asked for a better service ethic there. Rooms are just a bit small and tired

This is the second time we have stayed at the Ibis. Although rooms are small, for an overnight stay they are fine. Staff are friendly and attentive. Public transport is at the door or a pleasant stroll into the CBD is also an option. Well worth considering.

I stayed here for an business trip, and found it very comfortable and nice. Location is plus as it is walking distance from CBD. Reception staff was very nice too to help with my queries since it was my first time in Australia.

Decided to try an alternate Ibis in Melbourne, just out of centre with appointments in the area. Nice hotel with excellent staff. Views downtown to Melbourne Central & opening windows ! Enjoyed the stay. I understand, the included breakfast maybe being revised. It was very limited & restricted in offerings by the cafe staff. Quite crowded at the time I dined. Never the less a very nice stay ... I will be back ! A

I had a great stay with Ibis Melbourne Swanston Street. The staff were very helpful when I had an issue with my room and sorted it out while I was out. Very comfortable bed, close to public transport while being a quiet spot.

The hotel was in a great location, with parking on site a bonus. The room was small but comfortable and quiet. I had a restful nights sleep in a comfortable bed. Breakfast was included in the tariff and was at the onsite cafe and had limited choices. The staff were very helpful.

This is a newly opened hotel under the Ibis badge (it used to be a Tune Hotel when it first opened) Its no frills but new clean warm and quiet. Ideal location close to the Melbourne Uni and the CBD on the Swanston street tram route. A great little pub nearby Queensberry Street corner. I like the laundry room facilities, be warned no fridge in the room but is that all that necessary for a brief city stay

I chose Ibis knowing that it is part of Accor Hotels, and so I was expecting more from it. When I got to the hotel, I was surprised when the woman at the desk did not know the full details of my booking. She did not know that I have free breakfast and free internet. She then asked me to show her my booking details. Good thing I printed it out. She did not apologize for not knowing it, but issued me the internet login details and breakfast vouchers for two days. I went to my room on the third floor. I thought that it was small but I guess I should have expected it since I have read the review from tripadvisor. It was okay, I thought, since my plan is to go around the city anyway. However, come in the evening I had trouble sleeping. The pillows were not fluffy. It looked like it was used a thousand times. The airconditioning was not working even though I turned it to 23 degrees (it's only upto 23 degrees). I put my hand on the aircon to check if it's spewing cold air, but it did not. I just opened the window, only then the room became cold and I fell asleep. By the way, the internet ran upto 1Mbps but became slow to intermittent from time to time. I had used my Telstra data plan instead. The next morning I felt tired, but I had to wake up early because I needed to go to church. While packing my things, I discovered that the floor under my bed was really dirty. It was really dusty, and I saw apple earpod case under the bed which I assume it was from the previous occupant. I turned the TV o, but there was no signal! Now that's really unacceptable. I went downstairs to get my breakfast. I was not greeted by the lady at the counter, but told me to order at the other side because her side is for giving out the orders. I was kind of annoyed since I did not get a good sleep and I was expecting a friendlier greeting from her. The food was good, and the coffee tasted okay. I made a decision to checkout that afternoon and move to another hotel because I was NOT HAPPY with my experience on the first night. I mean, seriously, the floor under my bed was not clean, no TV signal? That's housekeeping 101 and they failed it. And then, when I checked out, the woman (she's not the same person when I checked in) could not check out me because she's not familiar with the system. Good thing the manager was there to assist her. Again, no apologies from them. This experience is so bad I could not think of anything more to say except that they totally messed it up.

Nice enough hotel. Rooms are very small however, barely enough room to move and no mini bar. We were given a voucher to the 'cafe' downstairs for free breakfast every day that we were staying but its not much of a cafe, more of a coffee machine and a toaster, and we went elsewhere every day and purchase our own food.

A nice hotel just outside the free tram zone in Melbourne, close to Lygon Street & the Museum. I had a queen sized, comfortable bed, but the room was very small. No fridge, no wardrobe, but a hanger with coat hangers. The bathroom was also compact, but with the best raindrop shower! Breakfast was included in my tariff, served in the small on site cafe. A limited menu & there were charges for additional items (such as an egg or bacon). I had coffee on day 1, opted for hot chocolate on day 2. Think Tea is the best bet! Both mornings I woke to a television that was malfunctioning (a great disappointment for a news junkie). The staff were efficient & pleasant at all times. There is a tram stop very close by. I'd stay in Carlton again, but I'd give the breakfast a miss!
