Plastic floors, tiny room even by french standards, no wash clothes so wash your butt with your fingers, toilet room door cannot be opened when inside, only partial view.of ocean from any room.....don't be misled, expensive for the size, desk clerk would speak only in "rapid" french when she did not want to address a question, only 20 parking spaces with 4 or 5 inches from edge of tire to white line. Place was cllean, but only because its less than a year old. Hate to imagine this place in 5 years.
Fine and functional hotel in convenient location for exploring the area.Handy supermarket opposite and you can walk to both port venders and collioure within 30minutes.Parking can be tricky but there is a chargeable underground car park which can be used.No restaurant but plenty in the two towns
The hotel is well located on the edge of Port Vendres and within easy walking distance of the town and Collioure. The welcome, beds (cushions) and breakfasts are top quality. Highly recommended. Make sure you get a parking space but there is a Lidl across the way in case of need.
This is a lovely hotel perched along a beautiful Corniche. The staff were polite and efficient. Breakfast was good, fresh orange juice. Room clean and comfortable. A bit small but fine for one night. Quiet rooms
Hotel is very clean and the staff friendly and efficient. The location between Port Vendres and Collioure is great, as both are within a pleasant walk. However, there are quite steep inclines on the return from both places, so you do need to be fit! The breakfast selection was adequate, with a good variety of product available. Free parking spaces are limited, but there is secure underground parking available for a fee. The hotel lacks a restaurant, but overall we enjoyed our three night stay at this hotel.
Port Vendres is a small easy going town and the hotel was within walking distance. The town had many restaurants with prices for all pockets & tastes. Ibis hotel is situated at the edge of Vendres & has a small beach almost opposite the hotel. We had driven down from Dieppe & wanted a brake from driving, it only took us 20 min to walk into Coolloure which is very lively & colourful, fantastic beach & stunning views and architecture, lots of shops & street bars/cafes, very good musicians which were driven around the cobbled streets entertaining the passers bye. We enjoy walking but there is a bus stop opposite the hotel with a regular service.
I am a loyalty card holder with Accor hotels and use their hotels on a regular basis- most often the Ibis chain. I have also stayed in other Ibis styles, Ibis budget, Novotel and Sofitel hotels. This Ibis Styles was a major let down. It is a new hotel, only opened in April and has been built with an eye to style rather than comfort. When we checked in the room had been cleaned, as you would expect, except that an empty bottle of sex gel and a half empty bottle of water left by the previous occupants were still on the bedside table. The room, which was allocated as one of their wheelchair friendly rooms was smaller than the similar room we had stayed in at the IBIs in Albi a few days earlier. Their was one office style chair in the room. Their was no desk, kettle refrigerator or safe in the room - all of which I would expect in a hotel at this price. The bathroom was a wet room, which was good. However the shower had not been fixed securely to the wall and when used large amounts of water ran into the bedroom because the floor sloped towards the door and a proper doorstop had not been fitted. Breakfast was a cold buffet with no hot food at all. There was no restaurant despite the hotel being some distance up a steep hill from the centre of town and the bar consisted of a domestic beer cooler and some wine in a cooling unit behind reception. There was a domestic kettle in a side room which guests could use to make a cup of tea or coffee during the day. This was shared by the whole hotel. The setup felt more like a youth hostel than a mainstream hotel. There was nowhere comfortable to sit in the whole hotel. The rooftop swimming pool could have been a good place to sit except that there were no umbrellas or any shade at all and with temperatures in the mid 30's it was effectively unusable during the day. The staff were aware of the problem but because the hotel is situated in a windy area there is nothing they could do about it. We had intended to stay for six days but eventually left after four because it was so uncomfortable and lacking in facilities. We had stayed in IBIS hotels in Albi and Zaragoza in the previous couple of weeks which were both significantly better than this hotel which is supposed to be of a higher quality. It felt more like staying in an Ibis budget hotel. The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful but I could not recommend this hotel to anybody.
This hotel is in a great location as it is within walking distance of two harbours Colloure .and Port Vandra The hotel is situated on the main road and bus services from the stop outside the hotel are t regular. The young male receptionist on duty when we stayed was more than helpful and nothing was too much trouble .and a credit to the the hotel.
