I recommended here for your relaxation on your vacation. The room clean and very comfortable, Swimming Pool with the nice view on Mekhong River, Great Facilities, Friendly Staff, Free Bicycles are available.
No parental or management control resulted in a balcony with a beautiful view of the river and Laos being totally useless. I had been advised by the hotel to upgrade and pay extra for this! Same group arrived back at about 10pm with food and drinks from outside and set up at the pool under my window and in front of the sign which said : No food or drink allowed from outside. Next day, after driving to the Golden Triangle, I arrived back to find the pool filled with a different crowd of boys, not so noisy but filling the pool and making it useless for an elderly gentleman to take some exercise. I asked reception if a different lot had checked in but was told they were local and were allowed to use the pool every afternoon................. No butter for the toast on my first morning's breakfast and on the second there was lots of butter but they did not put out the cereals and milk out. Don't ask Why. This hotel could be fantastic so please work on it as the staff were all super friendly especially at the evening dinner terrace.
Chiang Khong town is suffering due to the new bridge. But the Ibis shows what a great hotel can do for a city. Our river view room was very comfortable. My Thai wife loved the circular bath on the balcony overlooking the Mekong River. A room like ours would be $200 in Bangkok, $100 in Chiang Rai but was about $50 in Chiang Khong. We'll be back.
Stayed a couple nights a couple of weeks ago., Again a fantastic time, swimming with my son, a beutiful meal with my wife (great to have Antoine in the restaurant) and the Draught beer was nice and cold. Had a small hicup with the booking but an Accor problem not the hotel, which "Beer" was able to resolve for us, another new and welcome asset for the Ibis Styles Chiang Khong Riverfront along with a couple of new smiling faces at reception who always brighten the day. Cannot forget to metion all the sevice staff from cleaners to gardeners to chefs, to wait staff and even the GM for making our stay a comfortable and welcoming one. Thankyou again, it is truly becoming my families home away from home. Jeff
Recently stayed for three nights. Received warm welcome and Accor plus up grade. River view is the best ! Staff and Management even better. No troubles during the stay. Can not find better value. Will return shortly.
Love this hotel, location is good at riverfront. Room is nice and clean. Staff is excellent , warm welcome and very hepful , much more better than staff in 5 stars hotel. Breakfast and food is average. Value for money.
The Ibis Styles Chiang Khong Riverfront used to be the Teak Garden Chiang Khong which was a great hotel (stayed a couple of times) with great staff but now the IBIS brand under Accor hotels has taken over and taken it to the next level up. Having had a corperate makeover there is a air of greater professionalism with smart new uniforms and a new sparkle to the hotel. If you are an Accor member the added benifits are also great. There is a fantastic swimming pool which is usable by even nonswimmers as it is only 1.2m deep, deep enogh to do laps if you wanted but shallow enogh just to have fun. If you are able to, try and get a room facing the Mekong, but also try to get one with a very large circular bath on the balcony (my son loved this as well as the pool) Don't forget to eat in house as the restaurant is first class. (try the Thai inspired warm duck salad very very nice) Overall with the friendliness, cleanliness, comfort position, value and professionalism I give it 5 out of 5 Thanks fo a great couple of days, see you again in February '17
