Everything are good just about bath room and toilet are separate, both of room are too small and wall of bath room very clear it's not privacy if you stay with friend . Bed, very relax when you back from travel all day.
Convenient for traveller in good location and shopping area with plenty of restaurant in Myeongdong. Some of staffs not helpful service not take action. I found that when I leave the room early and back to the hotel at 3 pm. the room still not clean I have to call the front desk and they said randomly clean by maid until 4 pm. This is poor standard of service. And found the toilet cannot flush so call them to fix it while I go out for 1 hour but when I came back still nobody come to fix it.
Good hotel, I experienced for 10 days. Modern and confortable rooms. The staff is very kind. I enjoyed the good complete breakfast with different meals every morning at the top view restaurant A good surprise was the hot bath & sauna to relax after visiting in the cold of winter.
This has been my choice of stay every year when I’m in Seoul. It wld be a shame not to spread the word abt how great a hotel is but in doing so, it will become too popular and future reservations will be difficult and probably be more expensive. The hotel is just outside the Myeongdong tourist belt, but within 10mins leisure walk to the famed night market. A 2-3 min walk to the Myeongdong metro station andjust a little further down the street is where the airport bus (6001/6015) is. The room is always immaculate and fittings work and are in good condition, inner sheets are changed (probably not during your 2/3 nights stay) but I hv noticed that the cleaning team did change the sheets after a guest has checked out next door. Namsam Tower can be seen from the 21st floor (outdoor bar) and there’s also thevnice quaint restaurant for breakfast. B1 also has a restaurant for breakfast but I have already preferred the one upstairs. Rooms in Seoul are always small and this is no exception but you make do especially when you are never in them for most part of the day anyways.
I would like to thank everyone at the hotel for a wonderful experience. You made my stay a pleasure, from booking in to my departure. The hotel was clean and my room fresh everyday with clean towels. The staff went out of there way to make sure I was comfortable. The restaurant on the 21st floor was absolutely magnificent, both in hospitality, great food and views of the city. I will recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to travel to South Korea. Thank you all for a pleasant week.
We spent 8 nights at Ibis Styles Ambassador Myeongdong. The staff were very helpful and nice. The hotel is clean and recent. The rooms are small and there is hardly any furniture to unpack suitcases into but also very little floor space for leaving your suitcases on the floor. The bath is the tiniest I have every seen, but very new and nice quality, as the Japanese style toilet. The beds are very comfortable and there is a big TV screen. On the whole the room was okay but the soundproofing of the window was totally insufficient to shut off the noise from the traffic, although we were on the 19th floor. Also, just after midnight every night we heard loud clangs for about a quarter of an hour and upon inquiry it came from the sauna's cleaning program. There were too few elevators for the number of rooms and we frequently waited long before one was available. It was worse for guests in lower floors since the elevator was already full when it stopped at their floor. Also, we had sent two messages to the hotel, one through the Accor website upon booking and another a few days before we arrived there and got replies to neither of them. However the staff at the hotel were all very nice and helpful and it made up for that. Breakfast was for us on the 21st floor with a nice view of the city (due to Accor Gold card status), food international / Korean style, efficient and nice staff. We appreciated the hotel's location between Myeongdong and Chungmuro subway stations, a few minutes' walk from both. The cable car to the N Tower is a quarter of an hour's walk away. The shopping and streetfood areas of Myeongdong and Namdaemun are a ten minutes' walk away or less. There is a huge Daiso shop a few minute' walk away. Two small supermarkets are right by the hotel's door. Many restaurants are available around the hotel.
My family stayed 5 nights in the hotel and was delighted with the front office staff (especially with Elly) who has been very helpful, courteous and friendly. A clean and cosy hotel, near to the Myeongdong subway, airport bus and shopping area. I would recommend to stay in this hotel and will definitely come back if I visit Seoul.
I stayed at this hotel at the end of December 2015, when it was brand new. I enjoyed it then, so I decided to stay there again in December 2017, but I was disappointed. The price has doubled, but the quality has gone down. The hotel has aged noticeably, all the furniture shows its age, therefore it shows that it was made of low quality materiel, from dull plastic bathroom sink to broken chair and dysfunctional mouse in the foyer. There is an pool some 4 m x 2 m which you can use after your sauna. The pool is heated and open to the air, so you can sit in the pool and breathe in the cold air. There is a glass railing, so you could sit there and look at the lights on the adjacent hill. This was enchanting, but NO MORE. Somebody decided to put some opaque plastic foil on the glass, so you can no longer see out, you are just in a bathtub in a small room. Talk about ruining a room with a view! Also, the pricing policy, where the price for IBIS members is the same as advertised on Hotel.com makes me wonder why become an IBIS member anyway? Too bad, but I will find another hotel next time. The staff was courteous and the service was as I would expect from a hotel of this price. There was a welcoming coffee in 2015, but not in 2017, so even though they doubled the price to 214500 Won, they are cutting corners on the service.
Yes It is OK for 1 person stay. But my first expectation,is to stay at IBIS Hotel opposit Lotte Duty Free Bldg. Not IBIS Stye Hotel. So transfered bus from Air-Port,sent me to IBIS Lotte & I had to walk very very far!!!
There are a few things that gone wrong during my recent stay: 1) Day 1 after check-in, awful smell of urine in toilet. Front desk offer to change room or clean toilet, I asked to change room but was told no room available and they will send someone to clean it - why give customer an option to change the room if they have no rooms available? - front desk staff do not know if they have any rooms available at any point in time when they are at the front desk? 2) Return at night, could not enter room, went to front desk and gave me new card without explanation. Upon asking, they said card expired. - The card expire on the first day of my stay and no one check the card they issued? 3) On the 2nd night of my stay (29 Oct 2017) at around 1+ am on 30 Oct 2017, woken up by a sound from the aircon vent which sounds like water gushing through a pipe, called front desk and he sent a technician to check. Was told that it will take a few hours to fix and asked if I could bear with it till morning as all rooms fully booked. I asked for alternative solution and he called me back saying there is a room on 16 floor, so I packed and went up and found that it has a smoke smell. Changed my room to another room on the 12 floor (same floor as my previous room). - Why lie that there is no room available and ask customer to bear with the pain (loud sound) - Why did not check room on 16 floor before giving to customer - Why inconvenience customer to move to another floor if there is a room on same floor 4) Next morning, waiter could not find my new room in the breakfast list but say I could go in and he will check. Instead of feeling apologetic he sound as if I am trying to sneak into the breakfast 5) Room wasn't tidied up at the end of the day. Front desk say they will check and call me instead of sending someone to clean the room immediately. She call and asked if I changed my room and say that is why the room is not clean, was it my fault that the staff who change the room did not update? In other hotel there will be a manager doing service recovery especially after what happened on the 2nd night but nothing was done and instead things continue to go wrong and staff try to explain why instead of trying to fix the problem and make it up to the customer. A very disappointing stay. I tried to provide more details above but seems like it is too long and prevented me to type further.
Excellent experience! Room is small but luxurious! Nice view of rolling hills and Namsan Tower. Plus, love the heated bowl-seat! The staff speak fluent English and are accommodating. A block away from Myeongdong too. Will definitely book again when in Seoul.
Very central location, few minutes to Myeondong district. Close to limousine bus stop to Inceon airport. Friendly staff. Great view to Seoul TV tower. Expensive, rather small room, but it's typical for Seoul. Breakfast is Ok.
We are please and happy with the hotel in overall. Only complain is the slow lifts and also the air conditioning in the room. The inconsistency of the a/c and the noise from the a/c is really disturbing in the night.
Stayed at many Ibis styles & I'm always perfectly comfortable. The location of this hotel right in Myeongdong & just a 3 minute walk to the subway makes it an obvious choice. The rooms were fine & the breakfast was ok, although I would have liked to have had a change in menu occassionally. I apologize for not remembering their names, but I would like to thanks the girls at the concierge desk for all their help & advice.
Couldn't be happier with the wonderful staff, everyone was so helpful and kind. The room was very clean and well maintained. Our only problem was the room was small for two single beds. Otherwise it was a top stay - thank you!
Initial welcome and check-in was good. Room very small and bare with basically no space to store luggage which is difficult for a 7 night stay. Room cleaning left a lot to be desired and we had to call management (bins not emptied, stains and staff hair on the floor not cleaned, cups/glasses not washed or replaced...!) Welcome drinks very poor... not a feeling of being welcome ! The rooftop bar can only be used before 17:30 and after 22:00 Probably the worst Accor hotel we have stayed at.... well below expected standards.
If you not familiar with Seoul then this place is perfectly positioned, close to everything you want to see in this district, Great restuarants, or for the ambitious I recommend the street food the loberster tail with cheese & tabsco was great :-)
Service at front desk is commendable. The staffs from doormen to reception are friendly, care and helpful. I would like to thank Jimny who was exceptionally care and helpful. Breakfast was good with fresh and well mixed of verities of food. Room was clean and quiet. I stayed 3 nights there with my husband from 23/4/2017 and enjoyed our stay.
Location is very convenient . The last stop of airport bus 6015and walk 2 -4min. Downstairs convenient store and small coffee shop. Staffs very friendly. Breakfast ok . Nice view on the 21 floor. Room is small but clean and tidy!
I was very impressed with this Hotel and hence this is the 2nd time I have stayed in Ibis Styles Ambassador Seoul Myeongdong. (It has been my annual trip to seoul for the past 3 years as I usually visit Seoul after travelling within different parts of Korea) Previously I have stayed in the Ibis in Myeongdong which I found the service not so good compared to Ibis Styles Myeongdong as staff were not as helpful.
