Expensive but understand it's remote location will incur additional costs. Good pool, bar, and food. Before going to Cooinda we stayed at the Mercure Crocadile in Jabiru where we should have stayed the whole time.

Once again a great place to visit but this time round the hotel at Cooindawas very average. Was not impressed with the service. Quality of room decor and food. Standards have definitely dropped and it's a shame as this property has so much to offer and prospective potential. Needs someone to get in and manage this place with passion.

The Cooinda Lodge is in a great location to explore Kakadu National Park from. We managed to get a special Accor deal that was on a few months ago, so staying here was good value for money. Without the discount, it gets a little pricey. The grounds are great - easy to get around, a beautiful environment to relax in. The pool was lovely to swim in, especially in April NT weather. The staff were really friendly and helpful - the receptionists, bistro staff and house keepers. Food at the Barra Bistro was great and of generous proportions. We stayed in a recently renovated lodge room, which was really lovely. Amazing shower with skylight, although there was no hot water from the second day we arrived. Cold showers in the warm NT climate is no issue though. The beds were firm, which we prefer. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper, as the animals do make some noise during the night (it is in a national park!). We also did the Yellow Water cruise, which departs nearby, and this was definitely one of our trip highlights.

We stayed in a lodge room at Cooinda for 2 nights and we very glad we were not at Jabiru which seemed to be just another mining town in the middle of nowhere. Cooinda has the Yellow Waters Cruise at its doorstep and is not too far north from the road into Marjuk and its beautiful swimming billabong. It is half an hour south of the road into Nourlangie Rock for the walk to the rock art. I have only given the service 3 stars because there was always a line of people waiting because the place is so busy with caravans as well as its lodge customers. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful after you were eventually served. The pool is a definite highlight and features in many of the comments on Tripadvisor. There are actually two pools and if there are too many children at the big one then the smaller one behind the dining area is a perfect place for a quieter location. The dining area is quite large. There is a buffet available for lunch which was well worth the $20. There is a choice of Continental or Full Cooked for breakfast. The Continental has an excellent selection of fruit including whole stewed plums and halved peaches. There is also a selection of yoghurts. If you can't find the muesli or weetbix packs - they are kept in a cupboard under the toaster - just ask one of the staff if they have forgotten to put them out. For dinner we tried the Kakadu selection plate which included crocodile and buffalo and we really enjoyed it as well. The rooms had fans, were very clean and each lodge had its own table and chairs just outside the lodge. There was ample parking near to the lodges as well. There is a small shop near the reception area selling basic goods such as chocolates, drinks and essentials but the prices were very high, as you would expect. If you need to stock up then go to the supermarket in Jabiru before going to Cooinda. From the reception area we also booked a sunset flight over Kakadu. This was also a wonderful experience and very convenient that we could take off from Cooinda.

our first trip to Australia and Kakadu National park. very nice place, the rooms are simple but good enough to have a rest before going back to the nature. swimming pool is a plus and pool bar is excellent

Very friendly and helpful staff. Be prepared for no internet or phone reception. Food available was good but could have been better if there was a little more choice. Accommodation and facilities very good. Cooinda was central to the places to visit and any information required was available.
