I stayed here for 3 nights recently and really appreciated the great location...the Earls Court tube is a couple of minutes away as are plenty of shops and eateries and there are large supermarkets within walking distance in all directions. High St Kensington is also easily walkable. We arrived early after a 2 day flight from NZ, and the reception staff were really accommodating, getting us in to a room early so we could crash. Like other reviewers, we did find the reception staff confused about check-in time...Our reservation confirmation clearly said 12pm but the staff insisted it was 2pm. Some work there for the owner to do in clarifying that I think. So, everything pretty much went downhill from there. The accommodation is hostel-esque with poor maintenance, and shabby surrounds but not in a chic way! The windows are old and don't close properly so we had a cold wind whistling around the room and as there is no double glazing, all the street noise entered our room unfiltered. There are few amenities provided and like others, I was caught out by the fact that it's not until you check in that you find out the included breakfast is continental only. As someone who can't eat wheat this meant me having to go out for breakfast each morning. I think the website should be revised to reflect the reality of what you're paying for. I use Ibis hotels reasonably regularly and this is the first time I've booked an Ibis styles. I think I can say with some confidence it will be my last. I expected a similar standard to Ibis and Novotel in terms of modernity and cleanliness and was left sorely disappointed. It's a bit of blight on the Accor name I think. I'd say stay here if you want to relive your student flatting days!!!
