We stayed here 12 months ago and it was a disaster-smelly bedrooms and bad housekeeping. we were told if we wanted to stay here ring them and everything would be perfect. we rang them previous to our stay and they advised us it would be perfect. On arrival we checked into our room-there were dead flies on the floor-child's crayon in the room-the bedding was an off white/yellow colour with black bits. the net curtain had red stains on(?) also had a large hole and a black stain. One socket did not work and there was only one towel in the room, We went down to reception to report these and was told the sheets are a new policy and they don't have hand towels!!! We stayed that night and checked out the next day even though our booking was for 3 nights. Also on check in they gave us a voucher for 1 free drink even though there was 2 of us. we had a glass of wine in a lipstick stained glass which they did replace. the manageress Maria was very nice and refunded all our money and said if you come back again give us a ring-we said there was no way we would be returning, We checked into a Premier Inn which was spotless.

The room was good value for money and appeared nice on the surface. However upon a closer look the bathroom was grimy, floor was dirty and wall by the bed was disgusting. As we only had a one night stay after a party the hotel served its purpose fine but wouldn’t have been acceptable for a longer stay.

I began staying at Ibis in August. I continue to stay due to the locality to my work. I signed up for a reward card and after many requests to input many stays my balance remains unmoved. Acor have been really disappointing even after numerous requests from the haydock staff to add the stays.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel we were a group of six and going to Haydock Races we stayed to nights again so we had plenty of time although the hotel is only a ten minute drive/taxi away from the course, the staff are friendly and very helpful and the rooms very comfortable

Given a room which wasn’t cleaned properly prior to checking in, found blood on the pillow case and duvet cover leaving me wondering if the sheets were changed since the previous guest. We was then moved after complaining, given a room next to the main road, very noisy and difficult to sleep. Hygiene in rooms is not great. We was upgraded to full breakfast after having these issues, not that it was worth it either.

Very well placed hotel for travellers. Nearby are petrol station, shops and very close by is a popular local eatery. The hotel staff were very friendly, we received a welcome drink and the all-inclusive continental breakfast buffet was plentiful and good quality. The room seemed large for this standard of hotel and was very comfortable. Well behaved dogs are now allowed in part of the lounge which is a very welcome innovation.

Hotel is in a great position and very convenient for work. It is a no frills hotel, clean and tidy. I have stayed here before but this time service was so slow and I had to wait over an hour to get my dinner.I booked my table but was forgotten. At night the hard floors echoed to the sound of guests banging doors and running up and down the corridor.

We had a great stay here and the staff were fantastic - great value for money. Nothing was too much bother - room clean and tidy - excellent stop over place - would definitely think about using for the races.

Second visit here as we find it a pleasant break in our 500 mile journey North. The location has everything we need for an overnight stay with petrol, goodies and a pub all on the doorstep. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated in a horse racing theme. ( it is at Haydock). Continental breakfast was fresh and plentiful and the staff helpful.

This used to be a good hotel under IBIS but now has gone downhill so fast it really is not acceptable There are no hand towels, empty soap dispensers No food on Sundays unless its pizza and they had ran out of them The croissant were half cooked and not fit for human consumption

The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our stay but the sleep was uncomfortable. The room was too hot even with the window open a bit but more than that the pillows were too uncomfortable - quite hard - which left us with neck and back pain.

Stayed here once again and not disappointed. Very good pleasant and helpful staff. Very nice super clean room. On the A580 the location is perfect, pub and restaurant nearby if you want them. No noise disturbance during the night, just children up early which is fine. Plenty of parking spaces.

Comfortable room with included Wi-Fi and continental breakfast. Well located for visiting Liverpool and Manchester. Petrol station, supermarket and restaurant nearby. Very convenient for M6 motorway and A580.

Basic but very reasonably priced so no complaints especially as it included a more than adequate buffet breakfast and extra pillows etc Staff always helpful and the hotel position was just right for us

Location was really good for a stopover break from M6 travelling north. Room was pleasantly decorated and we liked the unfussy fittings etc------ no place for bugs to hide and easy to clean. However, the hinges on the toilet seat could and SHOULD be cleaned(Room 201) The laminated flooring is much better than carpets--- thank you. The inclusive continental breakfast was impressive in its choice--- cooked breakfast is available for an extra charge but we were happy with the continental choice. The staff were pleasant when approached but otherwise pretty serious --- come on guys, you're doing a great job so don't be worried about looking cheerful!! All in all , a good stay----- Excellent value for money!!! Oh one last thing, could the carpet in the reception area be changed?? It is rather worn and dirty through heavy use!

Excellent stay at Haydock Ibis Well serviced room (although it was a little too hot) and tasty breakfast Very convenient for our trip to the Open at Royal Birkdale Good food at the pub next door All in all an excellent choice

Our first and last stay at this hotel. Second star is for the staff, the only good thing about this place. Booked bed and breakfast: when checking in was told this was continental breakfast and full English was an extra £6 per person - that wasn't stated in the booking terms! Room was tiny and almost bare, a twin room with beds pushed together and no space to separate them, might as well have been a double. Wanted to have dinner as had had a 7 hour drive, was told could not book a table until 7.30pm as there was a coach party: tables were available but it was "chef's orders". Well if chef could not cope with more than one coach party then maybe the hotel needs more staff or a better chef. I've stayed in many hotels where they manage more than one coach party at a time, and you'd think that a hotel with around 100 rooms would be able to plan ahead and cater to their guests. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone over the age of 30 as it's obviously aimed at a market that would be happy with something that is just over the standard of a youth hostel.

We stayed her on June 27th for 1 nigh and must say that everything was excellent from arriving at reception to leaving on Sunday. We only paid for continental breakfast but my husband asked if it was possible to upgrade to full english this was immediately done by a very pleasant young man who was taking your room numbers (I did not get his name). The room had everything you required with a lovely wet room type of shower. We will certainly stay here again if we come to Liverpool. There is also plenty of on site parking. If you dont want to eat in the restaurant there is a put nextg door which does lovoely meals including a carvery.

I paid £56 for three of us and got exactly that. I just needed a night to stay which included breakfast. Staff were very polite, child friendly and reasonable. Their service was excellent with us very fast and always smiling.

Hi hotel was lovely and comforting and clean. I would say maybe another pillow in the room would have been good, but saying that I am sure I may have go one if I asked. Staff where very friendly. Breakfast was great too. The eating house in the grounds of the Ibis was excellent too great value. Would differently stay again

Hotel design

With such a longstanding, prestigious event as the Old Newton Cup right on this hotel's doorstep, it's befitting that your welcome centres on a trip through grand silhouettes and luscious leather. The hotel then quickly opens up to contemporary woods and electric yellows, a celebration of the fervour of the festivities. Bedrooms adorned with jockeys' silk patterns will leave you feeling like you're behind the scenes at a main event and have you trotting off to the land of nod.

With a population of just 11,000 (and some horses), Haydock has stamped its place firmly on the map through its much-revered annual horse racing. The Haydock Park racecourse built in 1898 boasts one of the oldest organised races in the country, the Old Newton Cup, dating back to 1752. The course is just as relevant today and as an early season race it's seen as a vital event to provide fitness for the remainder of the year. Of course there's nothing quite like a day at the races; the lavish garb, the excitable crowds and maybe even a punt if the mood is right. Our designer elegantly captures this passion through a combination of murals and silhouettes.

After a day in the saddle, some like simply to hang up their reins, while others prefer to seek out a little horseplay. ibis Styles Haydock skilfully balances the buzz of a big day out with opportunity for a tranquil graze. Even if you don't cross paths with a single horse during your stay, grand murals of the noble beasts lining our walls mean you won't feel like you've missed out. For the chance to stretch out and experience this proud horsing country, there's no better place to stable up for the night.
