Stayed last week at what has become my hotel of choice in the area. Great hotel with great staff, comfortable rooms and good buffet breakfast. Only complaint was the bathroom / shower area in my room (228), floor tiles at the entrance to the shower were uneven / cracked and sealant was badly discoloured and mouldy. Bathroom could do with some maintenance work. One of the toilet seat supports was also broken and loose making it difficult / dangerous to use.

After a long, tiring journey, to be met by the wonderful receptionist, Diane, was just the tonic I needed! The rooms are bright and airy. Meticulously clean. On the two occasions I stayed (different nights/rooms, same week) the noise level did impact on my sleep. Would definitely stay again though.

Room was very comfortable, bed was of good size, liked the bathroom, was very clean, the breakfast was a excellent continental breakfast which we both enjoyed.could have done with more coathangers. would come again..

I have used this hotel several times when I travel to Warrington to visit a friend. The hotel is maintained to the highest standards that Ibis stand for, with crisp clean rooms and all the basics that you need on hand. the staff on reception are always very efficient and I am usually booked in fully in under a minute having pre-booked and paid online, for which as a member I get a good discount. A good nights sleep and a lovely breakfast follow. A perfect stay.

Booked a stay here last minute for a trip to the North East, ideal location for trips to Anfield Saturday and Manchester Arena the following day. Room was okay although the bed sheets looked "a little tired". Whilst I'm sure they were clean they had considerable fibres on them, I imagine due to numerous washes. Bathroom was nice and clean although the hairdryer we asked to borrow only blew out cold air and we were told that was the only one they had! Staff however were very friendly, welcoming and helpful and made every effort to ensure we had a good stay.

The room was lovely with the lovely touch of jockey and horse racing related theme, clean and fresh and lovely black out curtains, just a bit gutted check in was 2pm when the first race was 1pm at haydock races so had to pay £10 more to get into room otherwise would not of been able to get ready

Room not ready. Television didn't work and lack of towels.was going to be 1hr before room was sorted so was moved to an alternative room. Should have been prepped, very inconvenient as had to dress and repack..

only niggling little things but not quite as good as it was, tea, coffee in rooms enough for one cup each, not matching mugs/cups, plug in sink didn't work, shower flooded whole of bathroom and then room carpet, only one towel each no hand towels at all. Party going on on same floor till early hours of the morning, night porter failed to quieten then down, small niggles that weren't there last year. Room went from very warm to bloody cold overnight.

I was very satisfied with my stay at this hotel. Easy to find. Breakfast being included was a bonus and very nice too. All staff very pleasant and polite. Room was lovely and all facilities well kept. Would recommend.

Had a great stay at the Hotel Ibis Styles, lovely room and really friendly staff, the breakfast was very nice although it was continental which was ok for us, there was plenty of it and its had lots of choices to. Will certainly go back there again and can highly recommend if you thinking of stopping off in Haydock.

Hotel is in a great location and walking distance to where we were going. Staff are always very pleasant and friendly and sort out any issues you may have. There was a disco the night we stayed but were put in a room away from the noise but it did finish at midnight. Great place to stay for a great price.

Superb staff, comfortable bed, clean room. Free bottled water, tea and coffee in the room and free Wi-fi. Continental breakfast is also included which was very nice. Cooked breakfast is also available to purchase but I was perfectly happy with the free breakfast provided. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for one night in connection with a visit to elderly relatives. The room was clean and presentable, but one of the bedside lights wasn't working. The shaver point wasn't working either, but we later learned they had all been disconnected because people were using them to change mobile communications equipment and overloading them. For us this is not the answer - it should be a given that your room will be provided with a shaver point. The bathroom, as in other hotels of this brand, is a wet room with shower, washbasin and toilet. The restaurant area has been rearranged since we last styed there. There used to be a barrier which separated it from the area used for breakfast, but this is no longer there. As a result, it is now one big area and you feel as though you are eating in a staff canteen The food itself was tasty and reasonably priced, but they have spoiled the ambience. Yes,this is a budget hotel but we have stayed there before and not had these problems. The staff were pleasant and as helpful as they could be in the circumstances.

excellent value, clean ,comfortable, minimalistic.Staff were always helpful, more pillows, etc no problem. breakfast was continental, and plenty of choice, self service, checkouy was quick and easy, as was the check in

Staff friendly and rooms good standard, breakfast options are plenty full and the continental is included. Love the Wet room showers. Minor down side on this stay Soap dispenser in the shower was empty, this was also the case over the weekend stay.

We stayed here 12 months ago and it was a disaster-smelly bedrooms and bad housekeeping. we were told if we wanted to stay here ring them and everything would be perfect. we rang them previous to our stay and they advised us it would be perfect. On arrival we checked into our room-there were dead flies on the floor-child's crayon in the room-the bedding was an off white/yellow colour with black bits. the net curtain had red stains on(?) also had a large hole and a black stain. One socket did not work and there was only one towel in the room, We went down to reception to report these and was told the sheets are a new policy and they don't have hand towels!!! We stayed that night and checked out the next day even though our booking was for 3 nights. Also on check in they gave us a voucher for 1 free drink even though there was 2 of us. we had a glass of wine in a lipstick stained glass which they did replace. the manageress Maria was very nice and refunded all our money and said if you come back again give us a ring-we said there was no way we would be returning, We checked into a Premier Inn which was spotless.

The room was good value for money and appeared nice on the surface. However upon a closer look the bathroom was grimy, floor was dirty and wall by the bed was disgusting. As we only had a one night stay after a party the hotel served its purpose fine but wouldn’t have been acceptable for a longer stay.

I began staying at Ibis in August. I continue to stay due to the locality to my work. I signed up for a reward card and after many requests to input many stays my balance remains unmoved. Acor have been really disappointing even after numerous requests from the haydock staff to add the stays.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel we were a group of six and going to Haydock Races we stayed to nights again so we had plenty of time although the hotel is only a ten minute drive/taxi away from the course, the staff are friendly and very helpful and the rooms very comfortable

Given a room which wasn’t cleaned properly prior to checking in, found blood on the pillow case and duvet cover leaving me wondering if the sheets were changed since the previous guest. We was then moved after complaining, given a room next to the main road, very noisy and difficult to sleep. Hygiene in rooms is not great. We was upgraded to full breakfast after having these issues, not that it was worth it either.

Hotel design

With such a longstanding, prestigious event as the Old Newton Cup right on this hotel's doorstep, it's befitting that your welcome centres on a trip through grand silhouettes and luscious leather. The hotel then quickly opens up to contemporary woods and electric yellows, a celebration of the fervour of the festivities. Bedrooms adorned with jockeys' silk patterns will leave you feeling like you're behind the scenes at a main event and have you trotting off to the land of nod.

With a population of just 11,000 (and some horses), Haydock has stamped its place firmly on the map through its much-revered annual horse racing. The Haydock Park racecourse built in 1898 boasts one of the oldest organised races in the country, the Old Newton Cup, dating back to 1752. The course is just as relevant today and as an early season race it's seen as a vital event to provide fitness for the remainder of the year. Of course there's nothing quite like a day at the races; the lavish garb, the excitable crowds and maybe even a punt if the mood is right. Our designer elegantly captures this passion through a combination of murals and silhouettes.

After a day in the saddle, some like simply to hang up their reins, while others prefer to seek out a little horseplay. ibis Styles Haydock skilfully balances the buzz of a big day out with opportunity for a tranquil graze. Even if you don't cross paths with a single horse during your stay, grand murals of the noble beasts lining our walls mean you won't feel like you've missed out. For the chance to stretch out and experience this proud horsing country, there's no better place to stable up for the night.
