This was the worst hotel during my 2-week stay in Japan. The location was excellent, but everything else was lacking. I stayed 3 nights and could only eat breakfast on one morning. On the first morning, there was a line an hour long (no exaggeration). On the second morning, I opted for the breakfast box, which was a hotdog and danish!?!? The third morning, I went down at 9:30 am after the rush and was able to eat the breakfast. In the morning, it was impossible to get on the elevator to go to breakfast or the lobby. I was on the 5th floor and the elevator would not stop when it was at capacity. I inquired with the staff about taking the stairs and was told the stairs were only for emergency purposes. All in all, on the first morning around 8:00 am, it took about 30 minutes to get on the elevator to go to breakfast, and then I had to turn around because breakfast had an hour wait. Not impressed :(

Nice hotel with a good breakfast and very helpful staff. Central location , beside train station., lots of restaurants to choose from in this area..The room was clean and well maintained we stayed for 2 nights and free drinks during our stay..

I strongly recommend this hotel to any Kyoto visitors. Not only is the hotel within the main Kyoto transportation hub, it is also an easy place to find food. On top of that, I like the friendly and humble staffs in this hotel, and its decent and comfortable rooms. They are willing to assist and help in directions. Nice smoking area where you can enjoy a cup of (free if you are Accor member) coffee at the 1st floor and enjoy the main street view. I like Kyoto and hope to visit it again sometime later. This time, I will bring a group.

It was so conveniently located opposite Kyoto Station, where there are tons of shops and eateries. The rooms were clean and modern and the surrounding area was quiet and nice, very different from our stay at Ibis Styles Osaka. Breakfast was sufficient if you don't usually eat much breakfast. However, the cafe was small and perhaps sit about 50 people. Thankfully, there wasn't a crowd or a queue. If you are looking for more varieties at breakfast and expect a spread, then you would be disappointed. In any case, there are many eateries in the area and there was good fast-food noodle chain just a few steps away from the hotel, on the ground floor. We really enjoyed out stay in Ibis Styles Kyoto! Thank you very much!

Stayed here for 2 nights. Smooth check in, fantastic location across the road from Kyoto station. Clean rooms despite being next to a busy station the rooms were soundproof so you could hear no noise.

Very happy with accommodation rooms were very small however it was very clean and directly opposite Kyoto Train Station. Rather expensive for what you get. Ammenities were very handy as we were able to use the laundry service. The bed was comfortable as most other hotels have extremely hard beds and sleep was affected as a result. The rooms were quite small however most other hotels are the same. Would stay again purely for the convenience of the location.

We stayed here for 5 nights, our room was an excellent size, well appointed, bed very comfortable, bathroom great size and newly renovated, our room overlooked Kyoto Station which was really nice as we could see the mountains. We used the station every day so the ease if access to the station and especially the Shinkansen platforms was a real bonus, we could be out of our room and on the platform in a very easy 10 minutes, fantastic restaurants, cafes, eateries in the station complex catering to every budget and the food is good, really good. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel, enjoy Kyoto

the hotel location is great. close to Kyoto station and plenty of places to eat. while behind it, is a quiet neighborhood. i like the fact that i can open up the window to let in some fresh air. some hotels don't let you do that, so the room is gets stuffy. especially during the winter and the heater is on. i like that they're environmentally friendly. my only issue was that the vent fan in the bathroom never turned off. maybe if they set it so that when the light turns on, the fan will turn on. and when the lights are turned off, the fan turns off. luckily, we were exhausted every day and slept soundly. but if you're a light sleeper, you can hear the fan.

Great hotel, brilliant service, always willing to help. Small rooms (but this was expected). Great breakfast selection including lots of Japanese food as well as continental selections. Occasionally difficult to get breakfast due to number of people queuing (on my final day I went at 7:30am instead of 6:30am as I normally do and I was unable to eat due to the queue and my outbound travel.) Otherwise, a great hotel and would certainly stay again if I am in Kyoto again soon.

Stayed for 3 nights at Ibis Kyoto as a base and used our JR pass to travel around, It was really good that the hotel was so close to the station as it meant ease of early train access and also carrying your bag was a breeze. The staff were very hospitable and helpful, and the complementary basic breakfast was a bonus catering for asian and european clients. Would highly recommend if you wish to be close to Kyoto station and am happy with european bedding options. Rooms are reasonable size for Japan though bathroom is still quite small. Glazing on the windows means no train noises.

The reception staff is very efficient and friendly. They made us feel welcome instantly. The room is quiet and clean. The breakfast offered a variety of choices and varied from day to day. Located adjacent to Kyoto station, very convenient and ideal for visiting Kyoto.

IBIS-Styles Kyoto is an amazing hotel. Structured on painless budget. Offers loads, beyond expectations. Impeccably clean, well-appointed rooms. Good breakfast offerings. Incredibly warm and affectionate service attention. Location-wise, none can be more central or closer to the Kyoto Train Station; it's literally there, right outside the West Exit. Love it and will strongly recommend it, even if you have cash to burn in a 5-star property. Save the money for a good private dinner.

Very good location, right in front of Kyoto station. Friendly staff. Nice decoration. Room was a little small, as well as space for breakfast, which almost always would get crowded, making it difficult to reach food.

Everything about this hotel was excellent except for their ‘breakfast’ supply, which was poor, as very surprising for Japan. Both mornings we met with a lengthy queue (different times) so ended up purchasing at the station. Very disappointing!

We stayed at Ibis Styles for four nights in order to visit Kyoto and Himeji. The reception staff were welcoming but the limited English language of a couple must be improved. Our room overlooked the Shinkansen, which thrilled my husband, and the Kyoto Tower which was a landmark easily seen in order to know which side of the enormous station you were on! The room was clean and well maintained and the bathroom contained a basket of toiletries. The free breakfast was adequate but catered mainly for Japanese palates. Staff were very friendly and worked very hard clearing and cleaning tables and replenishing items.

This is my second times staying in this hotel, the location is the best as it is just directly opposite to Kyoto Station which is very convenience whenever you need to take the public transport such as Shinkansen, JR lines, subway, buses, etc. Just about 5-minutes of walk from the hotel, there was even a major one-stop Japanese cosmetic & Beauty shop which operated till 12midnight (open at 8am).

A great location opposite the Kyoto train station .Clean and comfortable and helpful check in . Breakfast was crowded but reasonable as it was included in the price .A nice area to walk around at night .

1 minute to train station; quiet and comfortable room; room and hotel with nice decoration; small but spacious enough; very clean; extremely nice staff; breakfast medium high served in a large period of tmhe morning. A very good treat!

Great hotel. Just right outside of Kyoto station. The room was abit tight. Hard to move around with our luggage. But the beds were big and they had a long table for your stuff. The location was rather good. Only took us 15 mins by taxi to the main night life attractions around Nishiki market. Overall, I recommend staying at this hotel.

Excellent location across the street from Kyoto Station, where there were numerous inexpensive restaurants. We had several Viator tours and the meeting points for the tours were in easy walking distance from the hotel. Even though it was across from the train station, there was absolutely no noise from the train, even considering that our room faced the train station.
