Great hotel. Just right outside of Kyoto station. The room was abit tight. Hard to move around with our luggage. But the beds were big and they had a long table for your stuff. The location was rather good. Only took us 15 mins by taxi to the main night life attractions around Nishiki market. Overall, I recommend staying at this hotel.

Excellent location across the street from Kyoto Station, where there were numerous inexpensive restaurants. We had several Viator tours and the meeting points for the tours were in easy walking distance from the hotel. Even though it was across from the train station, there was absolutely no noise from the train, even considering that our room faced the train station.

The hotel is very convenient, you come out of the Kyoto station and there it is. Walk across the street from the hotel to the station and you have access to trains, buses, and subway. The station also has lots of good shopping. Rooms are small but comfortable. Spent very little time in the room so it was more than adequate. Hotel personnel were very nice and helpful. Interesting breakfast the hotel offers. It caters to European, Oriental, and American tastes. Anyone can find something to eat. Overall it was a very pleasant stay. I was there three nights.

The hotel is very conveniently located just opposite to the train station, which gives opportunity to use the local trains and metro for some of the important sites. Very clean and nice, the staff was very polite and helpful. Shuttles to both Osaka airports have a stop right in front of the hotel. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel and rooms staff on check in spot on and really helpful. My only observation is the need to review they layout of the breakfast room as bit like a day at the January sales. I review of the room layout and the welcome desk would I think enhance the experience

The hotel is conveniently located in front of Kyoto Station; with Yodobashi and BIC Camera and many shops around. Staff was very helpful. I emailed them prior check in asking about Takyubin service to send my luggage to Ibis Styles Osaka. All have been prepared nicely by them, I just need to pay (the cost is exactly same with Takyubin website; no additional charge), and my luggage arrive safely in Osaka. I strongly recommend this hotel. Definitely will stay here again when I return. Potential improvement: The pillow is a bit too flat for me. The pillow in Ibis Styles Osaka is more comfortable. But perhaps this is just a matter of preferences. :)

The hotel is close to the train station So it takes time to get to the center, every day from the train station We wasted a lot of time on travel. Reasonable room. Breakfast in a crowded dining room It was terrible.

hotel is situated very near from the main railway station, from where you can reach main historical monuments by bus. very clean and cosy. The only problem is the small restraurant , which is quite small for amount of visitors.

Great location and the alighting point of the airport shuttle bus from Itami Airport is just 2-minutes away from the hotel. It is easy accessible to the bus terminal, trains terminal; and great eateries places too

The location opposite the Shinkansen exit from the Kyoto Station and the Airport bus stop cannot be beat, especially at their rates. Also within easy walking distance is the Aeon Mall which has a nice large food court. And there is a very nice market Herve across the street to the left just past the taxi stand. The hotel is completely non-smoking except for a smoking booth off the lobby. However, the first room we were assigned did smell of smoke. The staff changed our room immediately to one that was clean smelling. The two large twin beds were very comfotable and the room was spacious by Japanese standards. We were able to fit three large suitcases standing up along the wall with the window out of our way. We did have one of the larger rooms, though, so my guess is that economy rooms are smaller. Another great thing about this hotel was the availability of a guest laundry The one negative for us was the breakfast buffet that was very crowded as the hotel seems to cater to small tour groups as well as individuals. For westerners the choices were not great--some very thin corn flakes, "scrumbled" eggs that may have come from dried powder, a bit of fruit, and terrible coffee. I saw pasta the first morning and thought great until I realized they were serving it cold. Had I known about the breakfast choices I would not have bothered purchasing the inclusive rate but found something to eat elsewhere. But really my only complaint was the breakfast. Everything else including the very nice staff was wonderful. I would definitely stay here again.

It's a very convenient hotel to stay in Kyoto with great location and access to all transportations. The staff were very kind. Very clean and good rooms and property. It was just crowded specially during the breakfast time at the restaurant but I guess it's like this during such month (April). The breakfast quality can be better than what it had been provided. As they had only two elevators; we got to wait everytime specially during breakfast time. After breakfast we were going directly to our tour, avoiding coming back to the room.

Just a walking distance to all available public transportation, surrounded by restaurants, shops, shopping malls. Breakfast is fantastic, Japanese & western food, and the menu is changed everyday. Due to the high season, I couldn't book the same room type for four nights. The hotel staff managed very well for me to stay in the same room without changing everyday by upgrading to the bigger room. Thank you so much.

And feel this one is the best...It has everything one can ask for : good location, friendly staff, very good breakfast choices, good values for a hotel room in Japan. Only minor nuisance is the works only on separate floor. Lobby has different password

Only 1 minute walk from Kyoto station, you can visit Kyoto and other surrounding cities such as Osaka, Nagoya and Himeji easily. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room are neat and tidy, but they may need to take care on the wallpaper and bed runner as they are worn out already.

The staff were very attentive and helpful. The hotel is located just a stone’s throw away from Kyoto’s Central Train and Bus Station, therefore, staying at this hotel means you will never get lost in Kyoto. During check-in, the Hotel Manager, Ms Yuko Sato and her front desk team briefed me all the necessary information about Kyoto’s tourist attractions and how to get there.

I stayed at the Ibis styles Kyoto station for 4 nights. It was a great base and so very convenient. As the name implies it is right infront of Kyoto station, I came down in the lift from the station and it was right across the road. Being so close to the station it was excellent for getting around by train or bus and there are innumerable dining options in the station. The staff were helpful and friendly and the room clean and well appointed. I would definitely recommend staying here.

This hotel offer great room in very strategic location in front of Kyoto Station. It means you can ago anywhere in Japan. I've been here for 5 days, and this hotel can be my base camp to go around Japan,. In Kyoto Station you can get every kind of transportation from bus, local train, shinkansen to go whereever you want. Overall this hotel is great except for the breakfast that always offer same menus everyday

It is just located only across of Kyoto Station. The room is clean and the breakfast food taste is good. Another best part is, if your next Japan trip is Tokyo and will be staying at ibis hotel Shinjuku, you can have your baggage send to ibis hotel Shinjuku at a reasonable cost and you can travel baggage free.

First time to Kyoto and found Ibis Styles to be at a great quiet location on the south side of Kyoto Station. Helps when it is raining and need to get back to accommodation soonest possible. Room was reasonable and breakfast was adequate. Only gripe was getting into the lift during morning hours. There do not seem to have a staircase that we can take if we want to go down from the lower levels to ground floor. Nonetheless, a very good and reasonable hotel that we liked.

Staffs are very friendly. Hotel well located near Kyoto station where you can access JR, Shinkaisian, subway, bus terminal; & couple of malls and plenty of eateries all within walking distance. Downsides - little space to access your luggage, no space to hang your clothes in toilet, air con only has heater access (maybe is winter time) with only way to cool down the room is open your window. Breakfast selection is limited too.
