Room was very smelly and bad ,No amenities in Room. Spoke to person at the reception ,she did change the room but same thing,I requested her i will pay extra for upgrade but move us to a cleaner room ,her reply was you have booked quad room..? They did offer Free breakfast but that did not help as my complain was room itself ... I should have figured out why hotel room pictures are not shown on website while booking. Regards Rakesh
Beautiful setting with comfortable room. Enough space so no distraction from coach groups and the most lovely of staff. Rooms are a bit dated but well presented. If you take time to sit still and listen you never know what animals or birds you can see
Super friendly and helpful check in staff (Emma was really friendly and nice and certainly knows her stuff) , a bit out of town, but that means away from the night roadworks and noise on Northbourne ave! Lovely peaceful setting, and the facilities were good. Room was quiet but cleaning could do with a bit of an improvement. I certainly recommend it to anybody staying in Canberra with their own transport.
This property is huge but well managed. Even though not in the CBD but Canberra is small enough for a drive to anywhere within a few minutes. The hotel is quiet and peaceful with the usual standard of the IBIS chain. The current promotion where for $1, you get breakfast for 1 person plus the cheap room rate is really great value! The reception friendly and professional. The breakfast set up clean and substantial with hot cooked meals, breakfast cereals, fruits, pastries etc. Nothing to fault with. The rooms are clean with all the facilities like hair dryer, iron/board, ammenities etc. It is a SOLID 3.5 star hotel but with a great price and great location!
We have stayed at Eaglehawk many times over many years and it has changed very little. Still has comfy rooms spread in groups up the tree'd hill. It is still good value and has very friendly staff. A bit of a home away from home.
My stayed on that night was perfect. Well everything else was there . But the breakfast was terrible. Bacon seems left over from a day before, roasted tomatoes were floating on water, scrambled eggs wasn't looking like which it has to be, literally the food was too bad. My girl friend was about to take a picture but I refused her to take it. As am been working in Accor kitchen for ages I know the quality of food, which I saw a very poor quality of knowledge on your chef there. And which was so quite breakfast. Unbelievable. Though there's always comments on everywhere even we did our best, but this is my first experience that Accor hotel's chefs are lack of food knowledge. Hope we can take them to another stage.
The staff are welcoming, thoughtful and helpful, real country hospitality. The units are scattered through a bushland setting enlivened by rabbits and sometimes kangaroos. This is a great place for families with a pool for the summer and tennis courts. Friday and Saturday night there is pizza as well as a restaurant menu and breakfast is a buffet where food is fresh. There is plenty of onsite parking. Because of distances and the slope of the hill less mobile guests may need to drive from reception/ restaurant to accommodation.
Staff were helpful. Bed was comfy. Air con took 30 mins before it could work. Lighting was terrible for applying makeup. As we were in a rush to get to a wedding on a hot day these things weren’t ideal.
Stayed 1 night is this basic hotel which was overpriced even for Canberra. Noisy bathroom fan and a dripping fridge that went all night. Staff seemed at times like they wished they weren't there . But the true example of this was at breakfast. I arrived in at 8.15 am after the bus loads had been and gone. In looking at the buffet I noticed only scrambled eggs so asked if it was possible to get a couple of poached eggs. Given the kitchen & restaurant was open till 9.30am, and apart from me there was only 1 other couple in the place I thought this would be no problem but I was informed that No they couldn't do that. So clearly this was not a case of couldn't but couldn't be bothered and wouldn't. was more the fact. Disappointing experience.
I stayed here as I have many times before. It's very quiet and the atmosphere in general is very pleasant. As a bonus, you even get to see wallabies and other wildlife hopping about between the buildings.
loved it rabbits running around everywhere and Kangaroos kids loved it nice playground by the pool. TV in parents room as well as the kids room which was a big plus for us. kitchen was nice size not to big or to small. Plenty of room for for your baggage as well. all in all thumbs up.
Each Tim i stay at Eaglehawk it is very apparent that the focus is on school groups, which is impacting on the quality of the establishment. Getting very tied and needs some real injection into maintenance Door dont seal, facilities have a lot of scuffs and damage from abuse, paths breaking up, pot holes in access roads are just getting bigger and have had no maintenance in 2 years
I've stayed at this hotel several times now and every time, when I go to have breakfast, they say it's not included. Even when I've payed for it separately or it's been part of a package. However, this time is the first time when I have actually been CHARGED EXTRA for a breakfast which I had already payed for! I had two rooms booked, one Winter Escape Package (continental breakfast included) and one standard (payed for full cooked breakfast). They tried to charge me for breakfast on both rooms again. I noticed it on one room, but not the other, so I'm now $36 out of pocket. I like this hotel, it's quiet, clean and in a convenient location for me, but this is beyond a joke. I don't think I'll be going back again. Long story short if you stay hear, make sure you print your booking confirmation.
Quiet, comfortable, a couple of very minor room problems but I can, and will, recommend Ibis Styles Canberra Eaglehawk to any traveller who wants a well-appointed, out-of-the-rat race, rural-setting, peaceful accommodation. Will definitely be staying there again.
Well located ,quiet hotel not far from the centre of Canberra. Our room was spacious and comfortable and warm.Food was family ,fair price and tasty.Parking was well organised and private. It is off the highway so quiet.Staff were efficient and friendly.Complex was spread out with native bush separating separate buildings.
Perfect. Plenty of parking, lovely room, clean, comfortable, well appointed and WARM - it was cold outside when we were there. Easy drive to Canberra city. Lovely grounds to walk in and observe the local wildlife - rabbits, kangaroos, birds and even play a game of outdoor chess with the large chess set provided.Great breakfast and dinner and the staff were great. We will return.
It's a nice getaway from the city. However the hotel room and facility should do with more improvement. More brighter room and better in room facility. Location is a bit away from the city, but price is great. Thanks.
We asked to moved into another room due to a rough patch job in the ceiling Broken tiles in the shower Mould all throughout the shower Taps shaking when turned on We purchased the breakfast and waited until the food came out from the kitchen to get our meals all the food was cold the staff were unable to cope with amount of visitors tables were cleared without being wipe down scramble egg was on the carpet.
What a great place to stay for sightseeing Canberra. Easy access into Canberra, 10 minutes by car. Accommodation in apartments stepped up and away from main reception, each with their own piece of seclusion - no lifts or high rise to negotiate. Quiet, lovely bush setting with kangaroos and rabbits, currawongs and wrens about. We had a family room that had a queen bed TV and bathroom in the main room with the interconnecting room having 4 single beds and a kitchenette. As we had a guest, from UK, with us the room set up did not entirely suit. as you can imagine anyone from the second room having to use the bathroom through the night would have to possibly disturb those in the main room.We were all good friends so this did not present a problem. A minor dispute over whether breakfast was included was easily settled at reception. Checkin was early and swift and the café food was well received and reasonable. On top, as well, terrific good sized swimming pool. I've already, and would not hesitate to recommend this Ibis Styles as a great place to stay.
We enjoyed our stay as we have in the past but felt the place was getting a bit run down and could use a facelift. The Eaglehawk is very handy to everything especially the National Folk Festival where we spent most of our time. Free Wi-Fi was good and the restaurant met expectations.
