Room was on small side but very clean and adequate, service very good and friendly staff. Great location for all amenities. Very good choice for Continental breakfast free coffee was a great bonus to receive.

Went to Edinburgh with my 2 daughters been to ibis styles before and was pleased with it so booked again for a birthday weekend for youngest daughter very central to most things very clean rooms friendly helpful staff a lively continental breakfast serviced for a full 3hour slot tea coffee and various other hot drinks free whenever you want

I very much enjoyed my stay at this hotel in St Andrews Square. The staff were pleasnt and helpful and assured a hassle free experience from check in to check out.. I had a spacious room on the top floor with a balcony and a view across the city and the Firth of Forth to Fife. The hotel decor is quirky modern Scottish - a bagpipe stag graces the foyer window - and room decor takes its cue from the building's former use as a financial institution.. The breakfast service was a bit of a scrum, as is often the case at Ibis Style hotels, but patiience and perseverance pay off. The hotel is right in the city centre and you can easily walk to most places of interest, though be prepared for hills and steps as Edinburgh is not a city on the flat.

My girlfriend and I were greeted by a young man, I think his name was Matthew. He was amazing! So kind and happy. Perfect stay from the moment we entered. We will definitely be back at some point in the future.

I stayed for 1 night in Edinburgh for an event at the university. I arrived early in the morning and was expecting to just leave my bags before heading to my meeting but they were able to get me checked in right away and I was able to settle in before heading out for a full day. This is my 3rd stay with this hotel and every time I come to Edinburgh it will be my first choice.

Hotel is close to any important point (Castle, Calton Hill, Panorama, st. Giles Catedral, Camera obscura, Train station, airport shuttle, tram, bus, galleries, restaurant, shopping, etc) in town by walk. Coffe / tea available 24/7 is very pleasant.

From the welcoming smile greeting us to us checking out the stay was perfect. Just what we needed. Breakfast was just right. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Location was perfect. We will be going back

Hotel was clean and the rooms were modestly sized. The location was also very nice in Old Town and 2 blocks from the Scott Monument. There were not a lot of restaurants around, but there's a Sainsbury Local nearby. The room came with breakfast, although the offerings could be improved. Free coffee and tea are available the whole day!

Room 3. ibis seem to think disabled people should be locked in a cellar. A room under reception with a view of all the smokers outside the window. Noise and noise. Another room was offered but was totally unsuitable for disabled people. IBIS and their staff do not care about disabled people.

On the whole, I was quite happy with this hotel. However, I had cancelled one of the days prior to travelling from Australia. It seems this didn't happen and I lost the money for a night's stay. I was offered the chance to use this night some other time but this, obviously is not possible. The hotel has a restaurant but the chef had to leave for some reason and nothing was done to replace him. The remaining staff did their best in the circumstances.

Easy check in and out. Looked after our luggage and check in early plus left bags after checkout until evening train home was due. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. Downside- room very small and cramped. Although clean the bathroom had a damp musty smell. We had to have window open as air con blew either hot or cold air onto you if you were on the bed. Fri and Sat nights noisy outside

Excellent location. Friendly, helpful staff. Efficient tram service from airport to Square, then short walk to hotel. Only criticism - I arrived at night. The hotel sign is small and understated which made it difficult to locate even when so close !

I enjoyed my stay at your hotel - great location, nice room with a view of the square, easy walk into the town center. It was especially convenient for a tourist with no car and the staff was very helpful. Thanks

Stayed for one night for business. Handy for central Edinburgh, Waverley Railway Stationd and the Old town across the bridge and into the New Town. Nice location on St Andrews Square, felt safe. Good facilities in the hotel, options for an evening meal as well as tea and coffee machines. Near to Sainburys local amd M&S food hall, TK Max, the Ivy and Harvey Nicks - which stays open late on Thursday evenings. Friendly staff, clean linens, bathroom products and free wifi, plus my request for a quiet room was honoured. Very highly recommended.

Super city-centre location with all the services one requires. Good transport links (trains, buses and trams all close by) and loads of restaurants, museums etc within eary walking distance. Nice modern Scottish atmosphere from a French hotel chain.

Stayed overnight prior to start of our holiday to Austria. Booked months before our visit and surprised to find ourselves in a room with balcony. Super views and very comfortable room. Good selection and quality breakfast. Very comfortable and excellent service.

Hotel in great location and very clean and not much to fault. However having stated at other hotels in area i feel you did not get great value for money. Breakfast not great and didiifcult to find a clean table to sit at.

The location of the hotel is great close to the city center, the shopping areas and the main attractions. The rooms were small but clean and the service very good but for the price we paid I think the value was much less than in several hotels of the same group I visited over the last years. We had a room on the street side which was quite noisy. Edimburgh is a city with a rich nigh life but when you are in your room it is good to have a quiet environmment and you do not want to hear the buses at 6 am. The choice at breakfast was much lower than in many ibis hotels in the continent, which is a bit disapointing when you go to UK even though a continental breakfast is announced. The room for breakfast was also very small. For instance, we were 4 but could not get a table and had to split, two of us on a small table, two of us on another high table.

Amazing location, 2' walking distance from the main train station and all sights. Personnel very polite and helpful, rooms tidy and stylish, however rather small. The property (including facilities and breakfast) well maintained and beautiful, however the room prices are quite absurd, even for the UK.

I stayed in Edinburgh two nights at the Ibis hotel. Its location is fantastic because it's in the city centre and we arrivederci there very easily b bus from the airport. The room was very nice and clean. Breakfast was good.

Hotel design

The hotel is full of character and maintains modern functionality with a nod to tradition. Purple, green and blue bring a distinctive Scottish hue which is enhanced by funky furnishings such as wee whiskey barrel nightstands and wry Scot-slang friezes which educate as well as inspire. Take a course in Scottish slang as embroidered carpets with local lingo take you on a winding journey through the country's colourful use of language. Illustrated murals in each room tackle different Scottish themes, meaning you might fall asleep in a field of thistles or be woken by the glare of a highland stag. And of course, where there are trimmings, they're in tartan.

Creatively crafted with full of Gaelic heritage and humour, our native designer pays homage to this cosmopolitan city still roaring with a fierce national pride. The hotel is alive with the energy, wit and vibrance of native artists, writers and comedians who sing, splash and regale with their tales of the city and surrounding Highlands. Herringbone plays with stainless steel and bonds Baronial with slapstick, wittily reflecting the diversity of the capital.

The interior ensures that your Celtic adventure continues when you step back into your hotel. The character and warmth of this proud country will be just as alive in the carpet beneath your feet as in the heather you walk through or Scotch you sip. Playful cultural references will keep you smiling throughout your stay in your own wee Scottish haven. Just watch out for Nessie who's hidden amongst the décor of the corridors!
