Good hotel, easy location, clean, excellent bed, good shower, has hair dryer, have a nice breakfast, public transport nearby, next to the lion's historic monument. You should take bus number 1 from train station to hotel or from hotel to train station.
Location is excellent - close to the lake, walk-able to town center in 10 minutes. There is a bus stop in 150 meters from the hotel and it takes just 3 minutes to town center. Maximum waiting for next bus is 5 minutes as there are 4 different bus numbers running between this stop and the town center. Lot of shops and restaurants near by. The breakfast is good compared to other Ibis hotels I lived in the past. You get tea and coffee in the lobby 24 hours. The staff in the reception and breakfast room are very courteous and helpful, they will help you on every matter, be it - planning your tour to an attraction or calling taxi or anything you need during day or night. I read a lot of positive reviews about room decor and recent renovation, but I am disappointed by the condition of the room. It was clean, but the carpets in the room and lobby are very shabby with lot of marks. The sofa-bed was very uncomfortable. The bed-sheet in one of the single beds wasn't clean enough - I had to call someone to change it in late night. The bathroom was nice. The shampoo tube was empty after the first of stay, but no one refilled it. Housekeeping standard isn't great. Overall good experience - thanks to their staff members.
Located a short bus ride from the train station. Take the #1 toward Maihof and get off at the Lowenplatz. The Ibis Styles is a block away. A coupe other buses go right by there too. A nice location, with plenty to do within walking distance, including a grocery store across the street, and the beginning of a main shopping district. The famous Lion Monument is a three minute walk from the hotel and is very impressive. The facilities at the hotel are basic. I had a single room which was small but perfectly suitable for a short stay. Plenty of water pressure in the shower, but note the sink is in the main room by the bed, not in the bathroom. This was a bit odd, but not a real problem. A combination hair, face and body wash is provided, so you may want your own soap and hair products. I always travel with my own because I'm never sure what the hotel will provide. A bottle of water was provided on the first night only, but water, coffee and tea are available all day long in the lobby. The bed was too soft for my tastes but didn't cause a problem during the two night stay. The breakfast was adequate and filing, typical things like scrambled eggs and sausage (so-so), mixed fruit bowl, cereal, croissants (so-so, prepackaged, not fresh), a large bowl of yogurt to dip into (not my thing, I prefer individual cups), and pretty good orange juice and coffee. The coffee machine has a few options on what it will dispense. All in all, the breakfast was a good start to the day, of at least average quality, in a good sized breakfast room. The lifts are small, enough for two people with luggage at the most. The room and overall hotel were very clean, and an ironing room was provided. I did not inquire about laundry services. Most importantly, the room had air conditioning, which was a great relief, as I was there in late August and the days were hot. It was great to have the hotel nearby to return to for some rest and cooling off during the day. Overall this is a good hotel for a short stay to do some shopping or exploring of Lucerne.
The location here is very convenient, although there is no view of any kind to speak of. The waterfront including Chapel Beidgr is an easy walk. No on-site parking, and 24 hours costs 20 francs for the street nearby, paid to the hotel for a pass. By Lucerne standards, the price is quite reasonable, but 145 francs a night ain't cheap by any standard. The rooms will instantly remind most of a hospital room. I had to check my paperwork to make sure I hadn't been committed. No carpet, a small bed in the corner, white, blank walls, and minimal lighting make for a less-than-inspiring atmosphere. Still, it was immaculate and got the job done. Hard to feel a sense of value from 145 a night merely getting the job done, but again, Lucerne is a monumental ripoff, so that's an important point to keep in mind. Breakfast is sad, but free (as it should be for what you get). I would still stay her again since it's relatively affordable, but just don't expect much. Plan on crashing there at night and not much else.
I stayed for 3 days. Staff was very helpful as well as friendly. Rooms were clean. Hotel was very near to Lucerne railway station. Staff provided bus pass for free which helped us to commute locally .
The hotel is in a great location. The rooms are extremely clean. Wifi is very fast which is great for business travellers. The breakfast selection was very comprehensive and it was included in the room rate so it was a nice added bonus.
Great location! surrounded by restaurants and shops, few minutes away from Lion monument, nearby bus stop. They clean the room everyday and their breakfast is nice. All staff are friendly :) They even gave me a complimentary stuff which I really enjoy. Thank you! I will definitely come back again.
The location is really good, by walk: * 10-15Min from the Main Train Station * 5Min to the city center The rooms are fine, simple design and colorful. The breakfast has variety, better as I was expected. Internet connection was also fine. Important: If you are planning to visit Pilatus, Titlis or the Lake, ask for the Willem Pass, sometimes the hotel gives you a 2 days Pass where you can travel for free around Luzern. With the city taxes that you have to pay in cash at the hotel, it includes a Luzern ticket transport where you can take transport for free in the city.
I have stayed at Luzern's Ibis Styles numerous times, which bespeaks my high opinion of this three-star hotel. It is conveniently located on a quiet side street just steps from the Lion Monument and the Hertensteinstrasse entrance to Luzern's picturesque Altstadt; the rooms, though not luxurious, are quiet, clean, comfortable, and functional; the staff are professional and helpful, in my case ensuring that my room requests are honored; the breakfast is, if not bountiful, certainly more than adequate; free Wifi is offered; and, by Luzern standards, the prices are eminently reasonable, certainly much more so than those of other hotels in the vicinity. On the basis of my uniformly positive experiences at the Ibis Styles, I recommend it with enthusiasm.
Horrible staff.. Reception desk staffs behaved like that you are staying free in their hotel. Asked for a kettle to make hot water for my Kid, they said they cannot provide. We went outside by 09:00 in morning and came back at 5 pm rooms were not cleaned and called the room service and they will clean in the eve.. Please don't stay there..
This is our 5th stay at IBIS Brand Hotel, and this Hotel is very special; 1.Prices are not Budget Hotel--May be due to the location..Luzern---still competitive,I guess 2.Bath Tub,Safe,Hair dryer in the room The Hotel is located in a very nice place--very close to "Lion Statue",Supermarket,Lake,Old Town,Train Station. So for any activities, they are in a perfect place. Only issue, typical to IBIS,is Breakfast/Breakfast Room..always noisey, crowded, not so tydy...
Excellent location in the middle of the city, in a surprisingly peaceful environment, with all the usual facilities of an Ibis styles. Staff helpful too with local tips and on-street parking was surprisingly easy.
Rooms limited in size, but adequate. Food OK, but service poor - messy tables, etc. Location fine, but parking difficult. Dinner not worth bothering, lots of restaurants nearby. Would go again, but only if essential.
Longer waiting time than expected, though we arrived around 13:45 and we we're informed room would be ready around 20 minutes but we asked after 30 minutes, it looked reception arranged another room ( cause I don't understand German.) Actually, our concern is we have no clue dead how long we could wait if we didn't ask.
The hotel is 10 minutes flat walk to the Lake and 20 minutes walk to the station. Perfect affordable location. The breakfast is simple but satisfying. Had to educate the incumbent staff on Reception that Laundry service is not available on Weekends. When my laundry did not go out on the Friday (after handing in at 8am) they chose to blame the trainee... not the person supervising the trainee. The Manager of the Reception team on checkout Sunday did his best to avoid talking to me about it and did not seem to really care. The hotel does not seem to be any leadership except for one lady on the desk who checked me in. Alas that is only one. A lot of families stay at the hotel - so you could experience a lot of door slamming with constant movements. Was offered a room move (which the girl on departure curtly told me - she needs to work on her people skills) reminded me. Yes I did decide not to do it... as it meant packing up to move with no guarantee for the remaining 3 nights I would not have the same issue. which it constantly did each night as the different groups came and went in the hotel. No air conditioning in the room and no offers to help with that. The Bed was good and I got good sleep. Shower is tiny and older people might struggle with moving in the shower... and enclosed tight access to get into it.
The stay was comfortable and the staff were very helpful. The rooms were clean and cosy. We did not face any problem during our stay there except for the non-availability of electric kettle and tea/coffee facilities in the room.
I have stayed at this hotel a few times now. It is comfortable and clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly. It is based towards the older part of the city, and is therefore in a quieter area and is about 15 min walk from the station. Unfortunately it is used by the package tour groups quite a lot, so can be very busy with tourists at times. However, I have always had a good stay there.
Styles: a new Ibis experience for me - and very pleasant, too. This hotel is ideally situated: short bus ride or 10 minute walk from main station and KKL. Very close to old town. Right next door to the Bourbaki Panorama - well worth a visit. Room was comfortable and quiet, with windows that one could actually open (not the case in so many other hotels!).
the hotel is good , but the the management have to improve... as when we were having breakfast in the restaurant , the travel groups blocked all the table for their members, we can't get any seat , have to wait until they finished. It was bad experience for us even we also paid .
Our Family of 2 adults and 2 kids (Ages 7,14) stayed at the family room for 3 nights. The room was spacious and well lit. The bathroom also was spacious. About a 1 km walk to the lucerne train station and only a 100m walk to the bus-stop. Quite near to Kanchi hotel where you can have indian cuisine. Efficient staff. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
