the hotel is so simple , without any facility in the hotel , in the room the location very good the room so small no room service , even no phone in the room the check in process so simple the staff are friendly
The hotel is located very near the train and bus stations. These are on the edge of the City so it is a 10minute walk or bus ride into the centre. The rooms are comfortable if sparsely furnished with good bathrooms (normal IBIS). Those on the inside are quite dark. Breakfast buffet is good but the hot food was lukewarm only.
People are the best They try to delivery your needs New way of living Inma hotel which is great Highly recommended It is clearly worthy to try And bar is open 24 hours It is close to the train station but rooms are very good and you can’t hear any noise at all
Recently stayed at this hotel on business trip. The hotel is located on the station forecourt and a 15 minute walk into the city, however because of its proximity to the station there are always taxis available. Check in was quick and simple the rooms clean and new. There is a restaurant however there are plenty of other eating places in the area and on the walk into the city. Service was good wifi fast and free. The hotel offers very good value by Cambridge standards.
Bath towels the size of hand towels...washed in a detergent that included a softener so not only was the towel minuscule it also did not absorb water very well. Only a 'small' thing but sufficiently irritating to make me look at other options...
All in all an nice hotel. Missing a reception desk is alright as the staff is waiting near the entrance. No phones in the rooms - just SMS or WhatsApp contact - is not a good idea regarding services. The choice of beers at the bar is too hipster. No proper English Ale rather than German brands.
The staff at this particular Ibis is extremely friendly and go extra mile to look after their guests. Special thanks to Caroline who works in Reception and is a great example of what customer service should be like!
Clean comfortable and reasonably priced stay right by station, Sainsbury’s and a 24 decent coffee shop beneath, the pizza also smelt good but we were going out for dinner. Shared with a friend big enough for two if good friends. Only real negative was the English breakfast had been over cooked and left out too long, but there were plenty of other things to eat.
A stone throw from the station, with all the facilities that come with this; taxi rank, shops, eateries, car parking, cycle parking and cycle hire. The hotel is typically good quality Ibis. I'll be returning to this hotel soon
Excellent value and can highly recommend this hotel. Rooms comfortable and breakfast well done. Within a 15 to 20 minute walk of the town. Staff helpful and very smooth checking and checking out process.
Everything was fine with our stay - parking near by is a little difficult though. Just one complaint - once we checked out we were not allowed to use the toilets unless we made a purchase from the coffee shop even though we had stayed the night and not long checked out.
Comfortable and modern hotel next to main rail station and local bus stops. Chill #2 has a gin selection to die for, tasty pizza and toastie menu, exquisite hot chocolate and coffee choices to suit all discerning customers.
This unobtrusive looking hotel is a great find. This was our second stay at the Cambridge Ibis. Located just beside the main rail station you might think it would be noisy, but not at all. Our room was larger than expected and spotlessly clean. We took advantage of the friendly bar/café on the ground floor to meet friends and catch up. The breakfasts are generous and of excellent quality and the WIFI free and with decent performance. I recommend this hotel for business and leisure travellers.
Lovely clean and quiet rooms and a great location for the train station and city centre. Staff were friendly and approachable- once I'd realised who and where they were!- and breakfast was good, being constantly refreshed and kept hot. We would definitely stay again!
This is a modern addition to the Ibis group of hotels. Checking in was done through smartly attired staff armed with a smart phone containing our booking information. The greeting was prompt and very friendly. No waiting at a reception counter or signing forms. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. A kind member of staff helped us book another stay, which we are looking for to in the future.
When arriving the first thing that registers - no reception desk. After a couple of minutes a young lady turned up with a hand-held check in device. Rather strange. Also no phone in the room, we were told if we wanted to contact someone we should use whatsapp. When I asked what anyone without a smart phone or a foreign tourist whose phone doesn't work in the UK should do the member of staff just looked confused and said she didn't know. In terms of the room - it was cooler than we would have liked and the heating system only blew cold air. It was also rather noisy at night with the repeated noise of running water. On the positive side a convenient location for the railway station but something of a walk to the centre of town.
Nice, clean and the staff are so friendly, close to the train station and lots of shop around. And the interior is so modern and colorful. Best place to stay when in Cambridge and surely recommends to everyone.
We spent 2 weekends at the Ibis Cambridge. The location for people arriving by train could not be better. Next to the station and very convenient for walking into the center or for taking buses. There are 2 supermarkets next door and places to eat light food and a pub. The lounge /café area is homely and inviting . The décor interesting and contemporary. The staff very friendly and helpful. The check in is done in 2 minutes by young staff standing in the lounge area. The breakfast is quite good . The bed was comfortable but the bathroom is small and compact although the shower was good. All in all a very comfortable and pleasant place to stay
I would certainly recommend this hotel - good size room and well equipped, nice staff - very helpful, lovely breakfast and good location. Only thing it was more expensive than expected. The bathroom was very small but functional
A year later it was a true pleasure coming back to the same place and meeting the same staff who are so kind and so helpful. The room was good, the TV was good, the bathroom was practical, the dinner downstairs was cool (although I'd love to have more choices for the pizza toppings) the breakfast service was complete. The location next to the station is more than ideal, with no negative acoustic impact. All in All it was simple but perfect. I will comeback again next year most likely.
