This is an understated gem of an hotel conveniently located beside Cambridge central station and with easy access to the city centre. Staff were flawless in their hospitality, service and helpfulness. The rooms were pleasant and functional and completely adequate for a short stay. The breakfasts were worthy of a much higher rated hotel and served in a very pleasant room/lounge on the first floor. Downstairs is a small but relaxed and comfortable lounge, serving some good food, nice wine and great coffee. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel is just a minute away by foot from the train station. Sainsbury's, Café Nero and few other shops are only few doors away. Customer service was excellent! I had to check out a little later after noon and they were very understanding. Would definitely recommend this hotel and come back to stay again!
The room, facilities, and service were excellent, with one exception. There are notices in the rooms indicating that to save energy towels will not be changed unless they are left on the floor. Whenever we have stayed at the Ibis we have never left our towels on the floor yet they have always been changed.
The room was just that bit too small for a couple with two large suitcases. Very clean and stylish room and very comfortable bed. Reception staff super friendly and helpful although it was quite difficult to find the entrance to the hotel the first time. Yummy breakfasts if timed correctly. Perhaps more staff training and attention to replenishing food.
A group of old friends who were at college together in the 60's ! We had a great time. The hotel was modern and comfortable and well sited. The young staff were friendly and helpful. Beds comfortable and a good shower.
Very convenient location, lots of options to eat nearby, quiet rooms for good quality sleep. The best thing about Ibis Cambridge is the service! The front desk and the bar team are brilliant and extremely helpful. They always remember your name and your preferences and try their best to make one's stay a very pleasant experience. Huge thanks to Gabriel, Leonardo, Caroline, Charline and Giuseppe for making business travellers feel at home! We always feel looked after and cared for.
Very clean on arrival, but asked for double beds on line, never addressed and said there were none upon arrival. Quaint and staff were very friendly. Did have to request room get vacuumed and bed never changed over 5 night stay. Housekeeping could have been better. Food is OK, but there are plenty of places to eat close by and can walk to City Center or short bus ride.
Stayed for one night in the hotel. Easy to book and easy to find. Parked car in Railway Station overnight. Very warm welcome and directed to our room on the third floor. The room was very clean, tidy, cosy and warm. It was also very quiet. Good sized TV with excellent shower and lotions provided. All in all a lovely experience for us to stay especially after an excellent breakfast at a small extra cost. Very pleased with the whole experience and would recommend the hotel to any one. We shall be returning.
the hotel is so simple , without any facility in the hotel , in the room the location very good the room so small no room service , even no phone in the room the check in process so simple the staff are friendly
The hotel is located very near the train and bus stations. These are on the edge of the City so it is a 10minute walk or bus ride into the centre. The rooms are comfortable if sparsely furnished with good bathrooms (normal IBIS). Those on the inside are quite dark. Breakfast buffet is good but the hot food was lukewarm only.
People are the best They try to delivery your needs New way of living Inma hotel which is great Highly recommended It is clearly worthy to try And bar is open 24 hours It is close to the train station but rooms are very good and you can’t hear any noise at all
Recently stayed at this hotel on business trip. The hotel is located on the station forecourt and a 15 minute walk into the city, however because of its proximity to the station there are always taxis available. Check in was quick and simple the rooms clean and new. There is a restaurant however there are plenty of other eating places in the area and on the walk into the city. Service was good wifi fast and free. The hotel offers very good value by Cambridge standards.
Bath towels the size of hand towels...washed in a detergent that included a softener so not only was the towel minuscule it also did not absorb water very well. Only a 'small' thing but sufficiently irritating to make me look at other options...
All in all an nice hotel. Missing a reception desk is alright as the staff is waiting near the entrance. No phones in the rooms - just SMS or WhatsApp contact - is not a good idea regarding services. The choice of beers at the bar is too hipster. No proper English Ale rather than German brands.
The staff at this particular Ibis is extremely friendly and go extra mile to look after their guests. Special thanks to Caroline who works in Reception and is a great example of what customer service should be like!
Clean comfortable and reasonably priced stay right by station, Sainsbury’s and a 24 decent coffee shop beneath, the pizza also smelt good but we were going out for dinner. Shared with a friend big enough for two if good friends. Only real negative was the English breakfast had been over cooked and left out too long, but there were plenty of other things to eat.
A stone throw from the station, with all the facilities that come with this; taxi rank, shops, eateries, car parking, cycle parking and cycle hire. The hotel is typically good quality Ibis. I'll be returning to this hotel soon
Excellent value and can highly recommend this hotel. Rooms comfortable and breakfast well done. Within a 15 to 20 minute walk of the town. Staff helpful and very smooth checking and checking out process.
Everything was fine with our stay - parking near by is a little difficult though. Just one complaint - once we checked out we were not allowed to use the toilets unless we made a purchase from the coffee shop even though we had stayed the night and not long checked out.
Comfortable and modern hotel next to main rail station and local bus stops. Chill #2 has a gin selection to die for, tasty pizza and toastie menu, exquisite hot chocolate and coffee choices to suit all discerning customers.
