We spent 2 weekends at the Ibis Cambridge. The location for people arriving by train could not be better. Next to the station and very convenient for walking into the center or for taking buses. There are 2 supermarkets next door and places to eat light food and a pub. The lounge /café area is homely and inviting . The décor interesting and contemporary. The staff very friendly and helpful. The check in is done in 2 minutes by young staff standing in the lounge area. The breakfast is quite good . The bed was comfortable but the bathroom is small and compact although the shower was good. All in all a very comfortable and pleasant place to stay
I would certainly recommend this hotel - good size room and well equipped, nice staff - very helpful, lovely breakfast and good location. Only thing it was more expensive than expected. The bathroom was very small but functional
A year later it was a true pleasure coming back to the same place and meeting the same staff who are so kind and so helpful. The room was good, the TV was good, the bathroom was practical, the dinner downstairs was cool (although I'd love to have more choices for the pizza toppings) the breakfast service was complete. The location next to the station is more than ideal, with no negative acoustic impact. All in All it was simple but perfect. I will comeback again next year most likely.
Recently stayed at the hotel for one night. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and well decorated but bed was not the most comfy I have slept in. Breakfast was delicious. Would recommend.
I enjoyed my stay at this great location. I was travelling by rail and it was perfect as it's right next to the central station, but without being noisy. There is a great eatery on the ground floor and from the hotel it's easy to reach many of the sights in the city.
Good position, comfortable and new room. Bar and lounge are very relaxing and it is possibility to eat something till late evening. Breakfast is good with a big choice. The people are really friendly.
Bright modern hotel. Clean hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast, gluten free alternatives available. 15-20 minute walk to city centre. Good location. Highly recommended. Would definitely stay here again!
Great new hotel at the rail station, but near the centre of this vibrant city. Lovely rooms with good en-suite facilities. Breakfast was more than adequate in fabulous first floor room overlooking the piazza. Staff were very efficient and attentive. Would thoroughly recommend.
Hotel is very new, very swish, with great staff and ambience. Very stylish reception area, fast and efficient check in and out. However, will be better when nearby building site work is completed and not starting at 5am!
Generally v. good. Staff v. attentive. Room good and lift worked well and we did not have to wait too long. I think breakfasts could be done better, especially the bacon. Also croissants need to be warmed.
New clean hotel, great location for train station and town but could do with some better sign posting for drivers, signage on hotel is up above fourth floor and no signs from ring road to help find location!!!!
for a start, the location is good. room are slightly more spacious than most ibis, services are nice a dn you really have the warm feeling of more than a hotel. breakfast was nice but perhap a suggestion would be to change the menu maybe alternate day
Our bed was comfortable and the location was great. Our AC/Heater was not working well and the room was cold. Had to have someone up to fix it three times. We were there for eight days and it was annoying to have to live out of my suitcase. Some drawers would have been nice. Our bathroom had two bath towels - no hand towels or wash cloths. I know that Europeans don't use washcloths but it would have been nice for the hotel to have them available on request.
We were struck by the friendly and relaxed atmosphere at this hotel. Helpful staff, nice breakfast, comfy bed..... and very good location for visiting Cambridge. We were slightly confused at first by how we should check in - but once we understood we found the staff to be very helpful.
The hotel room was clean, comfortable bed. The breakfast was great but not many choices. The staff were helpful and always greeting customers. The parking fee was unreasonably priced since I had to pay for 2 day parking instead one even I only spent 1 night.
Very well placed near station. Can be noisy. Kettle in room was not working and there is no phone in room to call reception. TV channels limited. Toilet amenities are pour for an Ibis. Staff are very welcoming and helpfull.
The hotel is next to the railway station and about a 20 minute walk into the centre of Cambridge. The bus runs into Cambridge every 5 minutes from the Station so this is a good way to travel. The hotel is quite new and the reception is unusual as there is no desk but we were quickly dealt with and helped. The room is typical IBis and provides everything we needed but is not luxury. We enjoyed our stay and would come again.
One night stay - on business. Location - ideal as arrived by train and hotel is just over the way on the right. Novel check in as no check in desk, Staff friendly. Room was fine. Quiet. Breakast standard hotel fayre - nice view of the square. Have booked 3 nights in June for another meeting.
I had a lovely stay at the IBIS Cambridge, as always. The one thing that was not that great, was the bad Wifi and I've had this issue before. I usually need to work in my room but with the pore WIFI connection this was not possible. Please get a better WIFI arrangement.
The informal check in was really good, but different. The rooms were all very clean and new.and the Breakfast was very very good, nothing was too much trouble. They would do any type of egg you wanted and when asked they even did the bacon more crispy. That is service! The fresh crusty bread was so good too.The only thing I would like to have seen would be mixed berry fruits instead of a basic fruit salad. The French lad in the Hotel deserves a mention, and we would give him 10 out of 10. A very nice chap. The Ibis Hotel was very handy as it was so close to the Hotel, no noise of the trains at all. We would always stay here if we came to Cambridge again. Everybody at the Hotel made us feel welcome Geoff F.
