We had a very nice stay at this hotel. On the Monday morning(April2nd) the fire alarm wakened us all up at 6.45am. This was a shock but acceptable. The issue that all the guests had was that no-one let us know that the event was over within a few minutes. The result was guests wandering the corridors wondering if they could go back tio bed.Surely some sort of all clear signal system could be implemented.Only other thing was that room service tried to access our room despite the do not disturb notice. Apart from these minior issues the hotel and staff were good.

I was highly impressed by the welcome, the room, the bar and the location of this Ibis hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel. Good value for money when you stay there out of season. Beautiful views from the top floor.

Hotel is in an excellent location. Staff were very helpful in all instances. Some senior staff asked us if we minded them showing some processes to new staff in training at the time. While this took a little longer than normal it shows their commitment to future quality customer services. We stayed on the top floor. While this is called the ninth floor it is in fact only 5 stories up so not to high ! Room was very clean and comfortable. Very spacious for a budget hotel. Couldn't fault it.

The staff were friendly and helpful. I never ate in the hotel so cannot comment. Lots of pubs and fast food places around the hotel to eat. Hotel is in a good position with the Royal mile and princess street only a short walk away.

Hotel is in a fantastic location for Festival theatre. Only downside was the loud noise from local bar which went on till 3am. Would not recommend a room facing court yard. Hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Arrival was different as you are welcomed by a group of young people with red T-shirts, no reception desk, so different. Room was fine but again wood floor so will take slippers next time, and the bed looked so basic without something other than a white duvet a two hard pillows. But we did find in a bag a couple of softer pillows. There was a kettle which was stained yellow and the outer wire cover on the lead was cut near the plug, so requested a clean/ safe one. This was no problem and was delivered within 20 mins. There is a choice of cooked buffet breakfast until 10am which you can get a deal for if paid in advance, but we are happy with Continental, for a less price, which is available from 10 to 12, with everything there except the cooked food, although they tend to clear it away by 11am but they will get you what you want from the kitchen. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our short stay and would definitely stay again.

Ideal central location in Edinburgh and wonderful staff. From the operation manager Thibault who arranged a lovely welcome to the great ladies in the breakfast room. Rooms are well appointed and very clean. A good place to explore Edinburgh from if you wish. A great place to stay.

The Hotel had no reception. A little hole in the wall with a girl on a laptop and iPhone checking in. Strange. Went in the lift to our rm. lift had sticky split drinks on the floor, and noticed the carpet looked , not hoovered going into the lift. Room was odd. Like a circular pod s a bathroom. All plastic. Although all very basic, it was clean. Don’t ever get rm 731. The music from some club was blearing till 4am. Shattered next day. We couldn’t stand another night. So checked out a day early.

Excellent location of hotel close to many attractions, shopping and entertainment. Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. Only couple of minor criticisms - we had booked a premium room and we had to ask at reception for bathrobes which are supposed to be included in price. Also could do with more thn one towel per person in room.

stayed in many ibis hotels home abroad.this is best.quaint check-in but no problem.first time in this area but plenty to do at hotel or outside.at check-in everything explained bar/rest/time and check out time. if not sure about anything come back to lobby and ask. the room was large and on 7th floor with views.kettle/iron/board /coffee/tea and biscuits.wow.comfy bed. the breakfast really did it for me.there was plenty/fresh/special needs attended to .you could sit anywhere on the third floor area.there is always spillages at this type of breakfast but this was swiftly attended to.the girls always had a smile and would help any quires or needs.but not use the pub but pass it to get breakfast.the prices looked acceptable.biggest time/line for breakfast.v/g.the whole thing was a 5 star .will be back.ticked all my boxes and more.so will be back.

Location is amazing, just at the old town of Edinburgh. Breakfast is THE BEST I have ever had in a hotel (including some 5 star hotels)! They offer haggis and delicious sausages, and everything you can possibly want in a breakfast. I will definitely stay there again!

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights from the 24th December, the hotel was very well situated for Prince's Street and all local attractions, the hotel itself was very clean, the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was really nice and a good variety, we would definitely recommend this hotel to one and all.

Everything to check in to check out was fantastic would highly recommend even though we forgot that we had a free breakfast with the booking, but it just gave us longer in bed as the checking out time was 12 pm so great for a much needed lie in

Wanting an Christmas break in a new city, I decided that Edinburgh seemed like a good choice. Having looked on trivago.com, I came across the Ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge Hotel. The rooms looked minimalistic but with a nice style, the reviews were excellent and the price was even better for the hotel with breakfast included. The staff were very helpful and friendly, always wanting to make my stay perfect. From the lovely greeting upon arrival to the seeing of staff daily, my stay at the hotel really made the city more pleasurable for me. With staff available at all times of the day, there wasn't a request that they couldn't handle for me. The breakfast was superb with a wide variety of choice and the cleanliness of the room was up to standards! I will definitely be staying there again!

Nice hotel, friendly staff but lacks sound proofing from the nightclub outside depending on room location. People sleeping rough outside hotel is a little unnerving for a solo traveller. I would also prefer a proper teaspoon to a stick for my cup of tea!
