book the room one day before i was travel to Givet from Rotterdam, i book directly using the ibis website, I drove from Rotterdam to Givet, have a quick stop at Brussel. Reached Ibis Budget Givet around 9pm, before check in decided to have a dinner at Mc Donald in front of the hotel, then ready to check in,the self check in machine is not in operations and out of staffed hour, but suddenly came one guy staff there said the hotel is full. I said i already make a reservation, and i supposed to stay here tonight without any problem. The staff explained that the hotel is full and the signpost in front of the hotel that show room available at 59 euro is faulty. that staff really not show any hospitality and concern regarding the problem and situation. I traveled with a baby, and wife, from Rotterdam, and I booked a room one night earlier, but the room not available when I am ready to check in. I returned to my car and check online the nearest hotel availability for that evening, it getting dark and raining heavily. I was shock that there still room available at the ibis budget Givet for that night, not sure what the problem. The other nearest hotel is in Luxembourg, which is 1 hour 30 minutes drive from where i was at that time. make another reservation at Ibis Budget Luxembourg airport and start drove there in heavy rain and crying baby inside that car. I make several stop at services along the route because I am too tired at that moment and accidentally spend the whole night inside the car in one service a long the route. We woke up by lorry's horn at 7 am at decided to have our face wash in the toilet inside the petrol station there. I check my email and my account, was shock both hotel Givet and Luxembourg already charge my account for both rooms, even sent me emails to give review for both rooms. Do not book ibis hotel if you do not want to be left stranded next to the highway.
