The hotel had many plusses, but a few minusses: PLUS Close to Metro and to Deutsche Oper Very well decocated and well maintained and cleaned Friendly staff Fantastic efficient and friendly breakfast lady MINUS WiFi not good, had to change room The hotel WiFi was better in the suschi bar, neighbor to the hotel..... A WiFi booster for a whole floor is around 20 EUR, strange such a solution is not taken A staff at the reception was slow to act on the WiFi quality until a written complaint The double bed is two single beds with that lack of quality A too soft mattress made sleeping some uncomfortable.

i don't know much about the hotel history but i assume it's an old hotel located right across the German opera ( excellent location for opera lovers) that has been very cleverly refurbished ( some rooms look like the inside of the opera!) and the metro station is 30 seconds away. the staff member are great, very helpful with everything i needed for my young son ( extra pillows, warm milk etc) and the breakfast is very satisfying. the only problem i could find is that at night you can ''feel'' the train since it passes literally under the hotel . for me it was no problem but people with troubled sleep might find it annoying

I booked two rooms, for me and the President of my University. We arrived around 3:00 PM and they did not have rooms to give us. They know that I have a Gold Status and an Ibis Business Card, but we needed to wait for them to find some rooms for us. However the "bad service" did not stoped! They gave me the voucher for only one welcome drink! I explained that I did the both bookings with my card and my boss was with me, but they decided to offer this "welcome drink" only for me. So I decided to give back this "not welcome drink". Finally we could get our rooms, but in the way to my rooms they are still doing some repares and there was a some equipment in the floor.

I stayed here for 9 nights while attending music events in Berlin. I had a quiet room on the 4th floor which was clean and very good Breakfast was excellent with both hot and cold food available Whole place was clean and tidy Staff were very helpful

The superior room wasn't clean at all. Lot of hairs everywhere. Dirty in each corner. The window was broken and not possible to close completely. Bed very uncomfortable, the subway goes right below the hotel and runs every other minute. The noise from street and subway made it impossible to sleep.

The hotel has a great location, just at the Opera U station, just accross Deutche Oper. Rooms are nice and warm, offering all you need. Breakfast is good, and they also offer complementary coffee and tea in the dining room all day long. Staff was kind and it is a good value for money.

hotel was ok, good location, but overall some remarks preference by booking was room at back side because of street noise as i am a light sleeper however got a room at front, sleeping was not very comfortable, after request of room change sorry no possibility, sad....also the neon hotel sign was next to my room window so light shining through curtains Shower is high step in and very slippery breakfast ok

Good hotel at a fairly good location.loved the breakfast.but the rooms were bit cramped and when the weather is humid it can get sweaty without the air conditioning.overall good experience except the cramped room and without the air conditioning.

Hotel is located very close to U Bahn Station on Main Road. Lots of restaurants and stores are within walking distance. Hotel staff was courteous and Helpful. Breakfast spread was good. Only negative is size of the breakfast area. On a busy day it becomes difficult to find a place to sit. Overall, Good Hotel, Good Breakfast and Good Location.

I enjoyed my stay at this nice hotel. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was fine. The Service was also very good. The hotel is situated near metro stations, supermarkets and restaurants. I was able to reach easily many famous places in Berlin using different public transports.

Stayed here for 2 nights on my recent trip to Berlin for the Festtage 2015. It was quite easily reached from the airport by either X9 or 109, followed by a 5 minute walk (and the Schiller Theater is about a 5-minute walk away as well). To add to this, Deutsche Oper underground stop was just outside the hotel. The spacious double room I reserved was ready even though I arrived at before check-in time, which is always a pleasant thing. The bed was really comfortable, and though the room faced the busy main road of Bismarckstraße, once you close the windows shut it was relatively quiet. There was a lingering cigarette smoke smell outside of my room, but it was fine inside. The free wifi connection was rather bad on my floor (the top floor), but it worked well in the reception area. The staff were quite warm and friendly during my stay, even though I did not speak any German. Also, the morning buffet spread was great. I also really like the fact that they tried to have music/ performance-related decorations throughout the hotel.

I came back to the Ibis Styles an Der Oper with my wife on this trip because I had been very happy with my last stay here a couple of years ago. As before, the staff were friendly and helpful. The Hotel is nicely turned out with everything clean and tidy. The room was of a good size and everything worked properly. Although not right in the centre of Berlin, the cheap public transport (day ticket 6.70 Euro) and the fact that the U-Bahn entrance is right in front of the hotel means that it doesn't matter. The breakfast (buffet) was very good but did not change day to day. This didn't bother us because there was plenty of choice for the length of our stay but I can imagine wanting something different had I stayed a whole week. Finally, one word of caution - I stayed in an Ibis in Paris (because I assumed it would be the same quality) but it was nothing like as good as this one (it was scruffy and cramped) so do check the reviews for the actual hotel.

Nice place, walking distance to Deutsche Oper where we enjoy The Nutcracker Ballet. The hotel is located close to the underground with nice restaurants around. The hotel is stylish and good place to stay. Worth recommending!

I visit Berlin a few times a year on business and this hotel is the nearest to where I need to be. It has good rooms and a great breakfast. The bar/ hot drinks gets little use outside breakfast time but you are right in the city here so have so many places to choose from especially if you use the station on the U2 line a few metres up the road. My room on the 6th floor was smaller than some of the others in the hotel but still a good standard.

Fairly central place, well served with the U-bahn. Furniture rather simple, from the Styles line I would expect more. Bathroom with a bathtub - I prefer shower. Comfortable beds, but no air conditioning. In a room on the street side this is a problem: with windows open it gets very loud, when shut it gets stuffy. Expensive private parking with limited capacity. Breakfast OK.

so nice to be back, warmly welcomed at early hour after night-train fr Sweden. we got splended room already at 8.30 am! service and breakfast good as usual. Danke sehr! many times in different cities and countries I try to book in ibis styles as one is guaranteed breakfast in the price of room

I arrived after midnight to the hotel. The receptionist was polite and quick. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The on suite is a little cramped and dated but in good working order. The breakfast was good in general but unlike previous visits the water boiler has gone with just a flask of luke warm water left to make tea. This is shame as this hotel was one of the better ones for making tea in the past.

Averagely located hotel close to a very busy road. It's located right above the tube and you can feel and hear it when it passes (despite being on the 5th floor). I had to sleep with earplugs. The parking is conveniently located at the back of the hotel but the 2nd night, it was full and an alternative solution was found after a 10mn discussion.

Everything was great except for the internet service. High speed internet came with the room, but it was slower than dial-up and couldn't do any work at all. Being on a business trip for five days, this annoyed me quite a bit not able to do any work in the hotel room (Iwas in room 303). I complained at front desk about it and was quickly dismissed with "there is nothing we can do about it". Baiscally, if you are on vacation and don't care about internet connection, then I would highly recommend this hotel; if you are on business and expect to catch up on some work in the hotel room , then you should probably look for a different place.
