It was a good surprise. The hotel is well located, near the beach and the staff was friendly! I strongly recommend Ibis Barra. The price was fair, the room was clean and clear. We had lunch at Mercure that belongs to the same group, and the food was very good. There is public transportation near the property as well.



Ibis charged twice for the same service (I had to pay twice for the breakfast). After the trip I contact them by phone and they confirmed the error. They asked me to contact them via email and I did so. But I have not received any feedback until now.



Stayed in the Ibis on two occasion during our recent visit to Brazil. Reception staff are very friendly and helpful, with most staff speaking some English (and our Portuguese is, unfortunately, very limited). Rooms are exactly what you think you are going to get. Restaurant and bar staff are similarly helpful. Checking in seems to take a long time, so queues can build up at the desk. Good security in hotel and rooms. Rooms facing the sea/bar area can be noisy on certain nights. Overall, good value for money.

I've been in Rio for a conference from 31 October to 04 November, and stayed at IBIS Barra da Tijuca. I simply felt at home, due the accommodations, the breakfast, but mainly due to the courtesy of all the members of the staff! I surely recommend it!



It was easy to make my booking. I felt very good with the recepcionists and it was safe to have my car parked. Certainly I will come back , and I hope it will be soon. Certainly I will como back, and I hope it is soon.



Complaints: -Smoking rooms in the hotel -Keys to the room with fast download -Lack of staff for telephone in external and internal links -Phone service, so harsh. Compliment: -A single employee of the receipt that meets with extreme dedication and pertinent information.



This hotel is very bad, the staff is terrible, attendant disorganized! The park and brackfast is charged. I was charged to pay at check-in and still they wanted to charge me again upon check out, unbelievable!



I had some issues on mu room, like the door oy my shower was not closing, so the floor of my bathroom was wet every time I took a shower. One day my room was without energy and not cleaned, and for the last my towel was torn.

I highly recommend IBIS at Barra Da Tijuca for its excellent quality and location. It is truly a great value considering the high prices of Rio. The hotel is located in an nice area with access to the beach.



The room was comfortable, the housekeeping service excellent. The breakfasts were well provided. I had dinner several times in the restaurant and the food was good. One problem arose, for a few hours of an evening I did not have wifi for my cell or laptop. The staff were helpful although it took several hours to correct. In addition, there seemed to be computer glitches with the elevators' operation, causing problems for me and other guests. The key cards didn't always work to activate the floor. Also the lobby computer available for guests doesn't have a recent web browser making it unable to download articles from newspapers. Thanks



Whenever I need to go to Rio de Janeiro with appointments near the region of Barra da Tijuca, choose this hotel. Great location and good value for money. Recommend! Very well prepared! The rooms with odd numbers and top floor has good sea view.



Check out very quick, Good breakfast, however the restaurant space is limited so sometimes there is no table for everyone. People are very kind and attentive. Service 24h of the bar which helps in case you arrive late hungry!!! :)

Good service after a number of complications. Internet didn't work at the beginning of the stay, with the help of a kind receptionist (Raissa) it finally started to work after a few hours. An adapter for European electric plugs was delivered when asked for Generally, the location at the beach, the bus connections to the city centre and the service ability of the hotel staff was fine.



Very good value for the money. Around the corner from the ocean and close to shops and restaurants. Rooms with great ocean views.The staff was kind, helpful and courteous. The only negative is that we ordered extra towels and they were never delivered as promised but we did go down and pick them up at the front desk. Also, being right by the beach, no beach towels were available at this hotel for guest use and the use of room towels was prohibited.



Nice and new hotel. Located not far from posto 1 by the beach. I had to ask them to clean my room once because I found some long hair on my floor. My self I am bold headed. But everything was fixed quickly. Very nice staff. Breakfast was not enormous but efficient and tasty. Little bit noicy on the outside and if you want to sleep with window open because high trafic road behind it. My bed was little to hard in my taste. About 20 minutes walk to the street with restautants, bars and some shops.



Very clean room and hotel. The front desk personnel was very friendly. Me and my girlfriend were received by Manuel who was very friendly and efficient. There were no hand towels and they said its the hotel's policy not to have and I found that awkward. Breakfasts was great. The guys from the parking hit my car but agreed to fix it without any discussion. I would say Ibis used to be an economic hotel but it isn't anymore, now its average price. One night for 300 Reais, about USD 100. For someone from the US, Canada or Europe, it's little money, but not for someone local.
