the hotel is not far from the tourist information centre and the large sandy beach. bicycles can be supplied at the hotel. small range of food on the menu but well cooked. there are plenty of brasseries, bistros and restaurants nearby. although this is Belgium, we noticed that French is the spoken word, whereas we are used to Dutch
All staff are excellent, they are very attentive. They make time for you and are very happy to answer questions and make useful suggestions. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms are very clean and the hotel is generally very quiet. Food served at the hotel is very passable.
Nice new modern hotel in the centre of town and within easy walking distance of the sea front. The Breakfast was very good with very good choice. The 15 Euro underground parking charge was very expensive and was not known until after you entered the carpark. It was empty the night we stayed am sure more people would you it if the price was lowered. Also it would have been nice to have a kettle and coffee in the room. Know that Ibis are trying to keep there prices low but our stay was over £100.
Third time staying here and is always good. Clean rooms with such efficient air conditioning. 10 minute walk via the main shopping street to the seafront. Make sure you book a car parking space. This ibis hotel is far better than the one nearby in Dunkirk if you are undecided.
Don't rely on hotel parking being available so book a space well in advance if you have mobility problems. We found reception more brusque than welcoming but everyone has a bad day and I had just had to walk 250 metres with luggage from a parking space on two painful injured legs!!! The buffet breakfast was very good.
fantastic stay at the hotel only it has no restaurant services just small bar menu. other than that great stay.recommend this hotel disabled friendly and staff went out there way to help. the first time i have been charged for parking with disabled badge.i had no choise to park my car on the main highway.so hotle car park was the only way.other than great hotle.
Very quiet place quite a walk to the nearest restaurant and quite expensive, which if you know Belgium is normal, so i recommend the Italian pizza walk until you get to the tram line & turn Right. The hotel has a small bar service done by the reception but if you sit on the bar its like all have gone to bed! Took 2 coffee which were cold by the time i got to the room. Dropped half trying to get in the lift. Parking expensive in ibis garage I would think it's safe enough on the street outside the hotel if its Free! But for me i paid the 12€. The hotel is very clean and GOOD ROOMS. Breakfast was also very good continental with cooked selection about the same as prem inn if not better if you have sampled some of their older ho . Hotels!!
Double beds have two single mattresses covering the box springs. They are not attached to each other and a hole develops in the middle of the bed. Earlier this year I was promised that the problem was being rectified. The web site announced all new bedding. It is a false claim. The problem still persists and a good night's sleep is impossible
Stayed with wife for 5 nights using this as a base for ww1 sites around ypres. Great hotel & receptionist was fantastic & so multi lingual also very helpful. Parking free just 150 yards away just off the nearby roundabout but you can park outside for 20 mins to drop stuff off just dont forget to get a ticket from the machine or pay 1 euro & get over an hour. Hotel bar reasonably priced & short walk to supermarket, beach & lots & lots of restaurants. Rooms were great, lacked a bit of storage space and a kettle for tea etc but kept clean & air con worked great on hot days. Definitley recommend this hotel
This is the third time we have stayed here and have no hesitation in recommending it for it's location, cleanliness and service at a reasonable cost. It is only a two minute walk from the tram stop so ideal for exploring the whole length of the coast and inland market towns. We forget the car for our stay and buy a 5 day De Lijn ticket for 15 euros then hop on and off frequent trams and buses at leisure to enjoy Belgium's fabulous beers, food and hospitality.
Excellent hotel with friendly helpful staff, second visit and already planning next, underground parking costly but worth it to have the security, town very busy at weekends so you don't have to spend ages looking for a space, all you can eat breakfast is good although could do for hot items to be kept warm for longer other than that great. rooms very clean with maid service every day, will be back !
High standard Ibis, modern and well organised. Staff welcoming and cheerful. Clear answers to questions, no ambiguities and confusion (ie no language problems in tourist French or English). Breakfast excellent (cooked + other), spacious dining area. Parking no hassle in & out. Location away from beach, but a pleasant 20 minute walk.
This hotel seemed to be newly refurbished. Our room was very clean, and very quiet. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the car park was very convenient. I would definitely stay there again.
A good, new, hotel in De Panne This gave easy access to both the World War 1 battlefields and to Dunkirk The hotel was new and the facilities were therefore good for the price paid The room was well appointed for the disabled guest The breakfast was varied and acceptable with a selection of cold meat, pastries and bread plus sausage and scrambled egg for those who wanted it The staff were friendly and helpful If in this area again we would return to the Ibis
A very nice hotel....very clean, rooms comfortable and friendly staff...room cleaned everyday with fresh towels and sheets.. The De Panne tram line is just a few hundred metres away, and close enough to the main square.
We had an overnight stay at this Hotel. Very new and clean. Our Golden Retreiver enjoyed the experiance too. Room was of a resonable size as was the bathroom. Breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from. I deceided to use the Hotel underground car park as we had some valuable items in the car. Lift from car park to rooms etc. All in all, highly recommended. We will stay again. Easy access to shops restaurants etc.
We stayed here for 1 night prior to catching ferry back home. The hotel was very clean and our room was the usual Ibis comfort. Plenty of restaurants nearby for an evening meal. Nice walk into De Panne and walk on the front. We didn't have breakfast but looked to be lots of choice.
The bed was excellent - best sleep ever and more comfortable than those in much more expensive hotels. No hand towels in room but was not much of a problem. Very good value but the Hotel a little off the main drag.
