This hotel provides good value for relatively low price. The rooms are small but brand new and clean while the food was better than expected. Whitechapel isn't the nicest part of London but it lies very close to the City.

Really enjoyed our stay at Ibis Whitechapel. Rooms are small but clean and it was all that we expected. Slept really well and we found it was easy to get to pretty much anywhere in London from here. The hotel also offers affordable breakfast and pizza slices in the evening which we found convenient.

Spartan accomodations in downtrodden neighbourhood. Just the bare minimum in the room. Cleaning of the room could be done better. Small room. Despite the lackluster accomodations, nice and young people at the reception!

Conveniently located near tube station, met by friendly staff. Room clean and functional providing all requirements in a compact room. Excellent value for money. Disappointed with breakfast - bread not fresh and selection poor, only the coffee was good so would have breakfast elsewhere. Would recommend for a budget stay in east London - we were attending an event at Tobacco Dock.

Stripped back to the basics, this hotel offers a comfortable bed, and great value buffet breakfast. Conveniently located near Aldgate East Tube, this no frills hotel ticks all the boxes for a budget hotel.

We had a room in the new wing overlooking the mosque. Comfortable beds, great shower, reception people were friendly and helpful (we needed something printed late at night and they were most accommodating). Several grocery stores including a Tesco around the corner. Pubs and restaurants with reasonable prices. Close to Brick Lane, Tower of London. 5 minute walk from underground station. We did not partake of breakfast but there appeared to be lots of choice. Room is very functional but only one stool and minimized space for walking around bed. Would definitely stay there again.

Just as it says basic hotel room. Bed, TV, shower and toilet. Small but clean Even though it’s a basic room I was still expecting a kettle and coffee so had to go out to fetch one Main problems 1) reception staff didn’t know the area when asked what restaurants and coffee shops about ( was told I could walk down the street and see) 2) light in toilet not working ( only found out in middle of night) 3) shower door didn’t fit and water poured out on to floor Staff made aware in morning buy didn’t seem bothered

When we eventually found the Hotel is was further from where we expected and Personally I am glad I was with a Friend. Would have felt very intimidated in surrounding area if by myself. On arrival ( about 1pm ) Receceptionist didn't bother to check whether our room was Busy, told to return after 2 but we were able to leave Luggage. Room was Clean and beds were comfortable. However felt uncomfortable with the Shower being separate from Bathroom which gave no Privacy. No staff greeting at Breakfast to explain set up or where we could find what we required. Would not Return

Nice hotel, basic but very clean and staff were very friendly, hotel is ideal for access to the city of London, rooms were very quiet, would recommend this hotel for a London visit. Whitechapel is also an interesting place with plenty of local characters.

Conveniently situated with good transport connections. Welcoming and keen to ensure everything is right. Not much room for clothes, so if you are staying for more than one night, you live out of your case. This is true of most Ibis Budget hotels. Plenty of varied breakfast food. Will stay again

The clue is in the name, Budget. The room was basic, but functional (although no shower gel etc in the bathroom). Staff were welcoming. Location is excellent, close to Undergound stations, and only 10 minutes walk from the City of London.

Stayed here multiple times and will continue to return. Always great service from staff and great, comfortable rooms. Fantastic location which is close to central London and serviced by the District and Hammersmith tube lines

The room was comfortable and clean and the check-in & check-out is quick & effortless. The hotel is so close to the tube, supermarkets and restaurants. Only thing is the WIFI, it's dead slow and not as expected other than that everything is good.

Don't like what Ibis budget have done with the reception/check-in. Long queue which you still have to wait in even if you have used their online check-in. Fire alarm went of for 5 minutes with no explanation. No answer from hotel reception when I tried to call. Had to leave children unattended in room as I tried to work out if the building was on fire. Receptionist (who was again busy checking people in) looked surprised that I was agitated. Would have been nice for some form of reassurance.

as mentioned you really do get great value here. The rooms are very basic but again for the money they are clean so no complaints about that side. Breakfast is good but very basic. One major issue with the hotel though is the internet speed, its beyond pathetic. You can barely load the BBC website on any devices. In 2017 this isn't good enough, there was severe issues with standard web browsing never mind streaming content. I would expect their to be more options, possibly even for purchase as per other brands but i would hope i could even browse facebook on a mobile device which wasnt possible. On emailing reception they couldn't be more helpful and said they had put this onto the team concerned. I've stayed here a number of times in the past 2 years and never had any form of reasonable internet speed. I would happily stay here again but i pretty much write off any internet use and have to use mobile data instead.

There were a few issues concerning my stay at Ibis. I arrived early. As check in was not open, i left my luggage there. No problem so far. I asked to use the toillet, but wasn't able to, since there was no toilet paper there! There is totally unacceptable, even on a budget hotel. Maybe due to that, but I am not sure about it, I was placed in a bigger room for disabled. It was ok, but only until a very loud noise woke me up at 1:30! It sounded like water flowing through a bad valve or something like that... anyway, it woke me up at night and kept going until the next day. In the morning I've called reception to show what was going on and Maurizio, very concerned, offered breakfast as a compensation. It was very gentle of him, but the problem has to be solved.

Great, no frills hotel, clean, quiet and efficient staff. Comfy bed, slept really well. Easy check in and out on site but you can also check in online. Didn't have breakfast but pizza was tasty. Will visit again.

If all you need is a place to sleep this is perfect. The room was clean and comfortable and bare bones. The staff was always available and desired to be helpful although their knowledge was limited. The area was not great as the street was "trashy" and although at first we did not feel safe, by the time our stay was over (8 days) we felt comfortable. The hotel is about a 5-10 min. walk from Algate East underground stop on the District line. There is a great Turkish restaurant near the underground....Efes and a very nice breakfast restaurant 2-3 doors down from that.

Having read previous reviews, I was concerned that I'd made the wrong choice in booking this hotel, but how wrong I was! Location was fine, friendly busy streets and people willing to give directions. Hotel was excellent. Will admit I was worried about the shower being in the room (from the reviews I'd read) but what wasn't mentioned was that 3 sides were walled and the door had excellent privacy screening on it. The staff could not be any more helpful, nothing was too much trouble and I would certainly use this hotel again.

Bit of a catastrophic night initially at least. We walked from the bus to Brick Lane. We thought the hotel was in Brick Lane. At some stage we phoned the hotel to confirm that it was in Brick Lane. We were assured it was there Are you sure we said. Oh yes was the answer. 100 Brick Lane definitely. So off w went. 100 Brick Lane was a derelict house. We rang again No it was the corner of Brick Lane and Whitechapel Road we were now told. By chance a local told us the was an Ibis on Whitechapel Road about a half a mile from Brick Lane. So off we went and eventually found our hotel. The chap on reception who had also answered our calls was unrepentant. The hotel is definitely on Brick Lane. We asked him to check it on google map. He did and apologised blaming the manager. The address on the booking says Brick Lane Whitechapel but it's nowhere near Brick Lane. Next morning we're looking for an ATM. Reception tell us there's one about half a kilometre along the road completely unaware there's one across the road beside a garage 10 metres away. Both these incidents make me think that the staff have abysmal training or have never ventured out of the hotel to see what the area is like. Either way it's a bad way to run a business. I'd say the hotel itself was fairly ok An acquired taste perhaps.
