Like all my previous stay in this hotel, service and quality has not dropped. Breakfast selection was varied and would have met every travellers' diet requirements. Tram stop is right outside the hotel which makes it easy to take a short ride to Sheung Wan MTR station if 10 minutes of walking is too much for the individual.
Highly recommend this hotel. My Husband thought his wallet was stolen while touring hong Kong but was pleased to find the wallet on the dresser at the end of the day. The attitude of housekeepers here are highly commended for their honesty and professionalism. I am really thankful we stayed here instead of somewhere else. The mattress is awesome and we had a good sleep every night during our stay. Location is a bit far from mtr but the tram station is very near. We took tram to the mtr station during our stay. Not to forget there is a famous and delicious dim sum place called lin heung right next to the hotel! Also very very near to jetty to macau.
We visited from 19 September to 24 September. It's our second trip to HK, and our first time away from our kids in 8 years. We decided to make the trip to HK and put up at Ibis Central Sheung Wan as it is centrally located. Check in was quick and breezy at level 5, and Ceci (who greeted us) even knew who we were. I had mentioned to the team prior I was visiting for the first time with my wife and she greeted us and even informed my wife we have the harbour views (I had paid for it; wasn't an upgrade). The room is spacious for 2 people, with ample space for luggages. Bathroom is small but adequately fitted out. It's clean throughout. Best part of all, the room was cheekily decorated with hearts and balloons, and there was a nice bottle of red. Thank you Ceci and team. Breakfast buffet is at best, average but that is to be expected for a 3 star hotel that houses a few hundred rooms. This hotel works if you just want to check in and return to drop your luggage and shower, before heading out again. If I do have a few thoughts how the hotel can be improved, perhaps we should have an ironing board and bottle opener in every room? For four days in a row we had to call room service for the ironing board and go to the reception for a bottle opener.
Well priced lower midrange hotel in good location.Handy to transport.Pleasant helpful young staff.Very good breakfast.Tidy comfortable room with basic necessities.Well priced food and beverage menu.Pleasant and relaxing dining/social area.
Room cleanliness and size is acceptable but very basic bath amenities were provided (no face towel, shower cap, cotton buds, body lotion etc.) and the air-conditioning unit is noisy even at low speed. Breakfast was good.
Have stayed here before and the IBIS has always satisfied my expectations. Check in was very pleasant and quick, the room was clean and great air-conditioning. The shower is also great, just wish a few more T.V. stations were available. Otherwise a great spot to sleep as its rather quiet with very dark rooms, you cannot go wrong
Good Service. Good Location. Starbucks on the ground floor. Good view. Nice morning walk area nearby. The Macao Ferry in the walking distance. The rooms are very clean.Lot of very nice restaurants nearby.
Good basic clean hotel albeit with a small toilet. Hotel is not in tourist or shopping area but easily reachable via transport. Check in was good, informative and polite. MTR (subway) about 10 minute walk away. Tram stop is close by. Lots of local restaurants near hotel. Starbucks at ground floor.
I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions. I use it because it is consistently clean, spotlessly clean and this week was no exception. I was disappointed, however, because there seemed to be a difference in the welcoming attitude of the staff. Whilst always polite, there seemed to be no enthusiasm and no smiles. I was leading a party of four this time and we all noticed this. For example, when we entered Le Bar, I am used to a smile and welcoming comment, like "Good Evening" but that had gone. We had to ask to be served; on asking for the menu, for example, we expected four to be brought to the table but only two were brought and we had to get the other two from the bar. We used Le Bar on four occasions for an evening meal and on two of those occasions, three of the four meals were delivered and we had to remind the staff about the last meal. On another occasion, one of my group was not feeling quite well and asked for a hot drink. She asked for hot chocolate. It was luke warm and she asked for it to be heated. Another drink was brought to her without delay but I am using this as an example of the change of attitude in the hotel. In the breakfast bar, the range of food is excellent as always but I see that the entrance to the server is closed off with a tape now. Previously, a member of staff would be there to take the room number on my arrival but now we had to search for someone. There is a desk for the staff in the area but, sometimes, there was nobody in the room. I gave up with this after the first day and just helped myself to breakfast. My only comment is that there are no hot plates for what should be a hot meal but two of my guests on separate occasions observed to me that the bacon was cold and that the baked beans were cold before consumption. I did inspect some of the food warmers and some were not hot every day. It was ironic that there are notices in the area asking guests to clear their plate and not to waste food. I recently stayed at a hotel not a thousand miles away for a similar price because there was no Ibis available. The breakfast bar has a smaller selection but, by the fourth day, I was acknowledged by name by the permanent staff there. The next plate was offered at counter level and was hot. Admittedly, the range of food was not as wide as that at Ibis Sheung Wan but the attitude of the staff was commendable. I hope this will be a temporary thing because this has been a wonderful hotel to use but there is competition outsid
No complaints but full of compliments esp to those hardworking & most enthusiastic staff at the reception. For this value, you get a great wide view of the sea. For improvement, quality of breakfast need a review given good choice of food is plentiful in HK.
This is an IBIS hotel to be valued as 3 stars hotel according to western standards. For Hong Kong this is a clean hotel conveniently located which offers very plain services. Rooms are essential and small for the money. Breakfast can be improved and breakfast personnel could be more kind.
Very clean. Need to provide separate shampoo and shower bath. Location is not very near to MTR. Need to know that there are 3 occupants and replenish the items accordingly. Pillow is too soft. Requested for change for 2 of the pillow, can only change 1 as there are no new stocks.
Our time at this hotel was great. The staff were excellent and delivered every time we asked them to help us. The room was compact but the views of the harbour were unbelievable especially during the typhoon.
I have great experience with iBis, fast check in/out, efficient, attentive to request. Howver, my last 2 stays became less favourable. Not sure why the wifi connection is almost unusable especially from 9pm onwards. It could be now no password is required and close proxmity to residential prioperty. Open wifi causes the problem? Guests suffer from this slowness and it does not help business traveller. I have feedback but nothing changes. Probably it is time to consider elsewhere.
Stayed at hotel for business visit. Harbour view was perfect. Room comfort and cleanliness was good. However, room need minor touch-up for painting, which could have been done before check-in. Would be nice to have in-room service for food delivery. Staff was very pleasant and professional.
Clean comfortable and efficient! Best place I have ever stayed in Hong Kong. The breakfast was tasty and lots of choice. Got a birthday upgrade to the 29th floor and two free drinks! Very clean and nice rooms. Will return
A good, tidy, hotel. A very convenient location--not far from Sheung Wan MTR stop, and a tram stop right in front. Easy to get into Central and Admiralty, as well as HKU and Kennedy Town. The staff is friendly and professional. A good value for money, especially if you are a business traveler.
Good all round venue --- easy to find location. All taxis i used new where the hotel was "immediately" which often is not the case in HK. The room was very adequate size, clean and tidy, comfortable bed and excellent AirCon. Buffet breakfast was excellent......massive choice, and actually unlimited quantities. very tasty. plus outside of "dining hours" there was 24 hours service including areas to snack/light meals etc. Environmental friendly policy throughout the hotel. IBIS high standard as expected and as usual.
The IBIS staff are very courteous and helpful. They explained all the travel, logistics, train ferry availability in detail. The room with a Harbour view was fantastic! The buffet breakfast and dining experience also very pleasant and fulfilling! Will highly recommend IBIS and plan for all my future stays.
I chose Ibis because of the wonderful stay I experienced while in Amesterdam. Ibis Hong Kong was nothing like that. The beds were hard and the shower overflowed and was unclean. Overall I was disappointed.
