Close to railway station and tram stop. Breakfast adequate in a clean and bright environment. Room small but adequate for a short stay and facilitates sufficient. No English TV channel available. Staff in breakfast room were pleasant and helpful.
Breakfast was a bit poor. We expected more for the price. Room was small en dark. Airconditioning was nice. Location is OK, close to the station of Bordeaux but about 30 min to center. Price quality is not OK, prices should be lower.
5 minutes from platform to hotel and vice versa (just wish they'd finish getting the scaffolding down in the station). Few yards from tram stop. Supermarket round the corner. Riverside little further if you wish to walk to from City Centre
The hotel's location is very good for those who need to use Bordeaux Central station. It is quite a walk to the tourist spots though (15-20 mins). The hotel staff is not that polite. The tall lady that seemed to be the leader of the room cleaning staff was bragging in french all over the corridor (yes we can speak and understand french too!). The hotel is old with an "Ibis Styles" make up. Filling up the toilet sink would cause it to leak (all the water that reaches the top hole goes straight to the floor). Shower water flows in wrong directions so it makes the bathroom a mess. Rooms are so tiny that makes you think that you are in a hotel in Japan. Breakfast options short and staff don't replace things that are over. By far one of the worst Ibis Styles I've ever did stay. A shame having to place this statement but... they need serious improvements.
There is a note apologies of renovation in the elevator. OK good but thus should really be averted on the web so people can make informed decision BEFORE booking. Also I expect a Styles to do better than two single beds tied together pretend to be a"double" which was what we paid for. Uncomfortable seams running down the centre. Guys that is NOT a double.
This hotel was situated near to the train staition, buses and trams. The room was clean and tidy. The staff on reception were extremely politer and helpful. A good location for getting around Bordeaux
I have stayed in Ibis Styles both in Villeurbanne and Lille. They were great experiences. This time, I was disappointed. Everything was below my expectations. Both check-in and check-out were efficient but lacked warmth, the bedroom was smaller than I expected and clearly the new "Ibis Styles" fittings were added on. The toilet was so close to the sink that it was uncomfortable to use the toilet and the chair and table in the room had to be pushed against the wall so that one could move.Internet was slow and I could not change the language settings to English on the TV. Finally the breakfast did not offer any fresh fruits or choices in bred and yoghourt types. All in all a substandard experience for a rather high price.
Not only was the hotel conveniently located, but is was also a great place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was very comfortable and well-appointed. Ibis Styles is certainly my choice!
The Ibis Styles hotel was just what we needed for an overnight stop on a long journey to Biarritz. However the Ibis hotel receptionist around the corner offered us no help to find their sister hotel and rudely told me that she had no idea how to get from the shared carpark to the Styles hotel. Not what I really needed after a long journey.
Ibis Styles nearby Gare Saint Jean is a comfortable stay within easy walking distance and a short tram ride from the centre of the city. In that sense, it's a handy location. You get what you pay for and this is France so the rooms don't have a lot of space and no extras (no bar, no glassware/cups and no coffee or tea-making facilities). But you can make tea in the lobby and bring it up if you like. The staff are friendly and the breakfast that is included in the room rate is good - cereals, bread and pastry (croissants and pain chocolat only), ham and cheese, fresh pressed orange juice and a machine making a range of coffees. Bizarrely, the teapots had no lids.
Efficient service, basic but well equipped room. A few steps from railway station. Ideal for visiting the city and surrounding area. No luxury (no cognac available at the bar) but all comfort a smart traveller may desire.
Poor service from disinterested staff. Breakfast lacked variety and quality. No food at the bar, as advertised. Poorly equipped bar, no white wine. TV channels not provided as advertised. Room too small.
it was a very nice hotel with comfortable room. however description across street from train station was misleading. better information on location would have been helpful. i would stay there another time
Pleasant stay in a beautiful city. Major pros were price, location adjacent to tram and main stations, cleanliness, quietness and Ibis reliability. All you would expect from an Ibis. No major cons, though tea and coffee in the room would have been appreciated. Happy to return.
Location 1 minute walk from the train station, VERY small rooms, average bathroom, daily staff on the reception infinitely friendlier then night staff. Free water and coffee in the lobby always unavailable :( Breakfast is the best thing of this hotel.
Stayed in this IBIS on a 15 days Eurotrip, allways booked in accor Hotels. Next to Gare St Jean, and near city center, 10m, so well situated. The room was clean, good size and nicely presented. The staff were friendly and efficient at check-in. The bathroom was clean and spacious Brekfast was good with very fresh natural Orange juice I would definitely stay here again.
This Ibis Styles is a gem very close to the centre of Bordeaux. The cleanliness, quality and quietness of the rooms are what one has come to expect from the Ibis chain. Similarly, the breakfast offering is good. The only drawback for me was that the manager simply refused to honour my Accor hotels loyalty card, so no welcome drink. Accor have subsequently resolved this issue, however.
As we were travelling by rail we chose this hotel because of its proximity within walking distance of Bordeaux Station. Also it offered easy access to the city's extensive tramway system. As It was an Ibis Styles establishment, it offered room and breakfast at an inclusive price. Although we had booked in advance, for some inexplicable reason the room had not been paid for, which is my usual custom. Next time we would like to be advised that this was the case. To be fair to the hotel, they did accept payment at the agreed rate! The room was on the small size but the bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast offered a wide range of food to suit all tastes. Newspapers were also supplied to read over breakfast. A limited supply of snacks were also provided outside hours plus bar. Judging by the clientele, it was well rated by business people.
Great hotel, terrific and helpful staff in a very convenient area. Handy for the St Jean station and the trams stopped not 30 metres from the front door. The car parking was very reasonably priced and extremely secure, and only a 3 minute walk away, the old city only being about 20 minutes walking time. Local amenities were also decent. A couple of good restaurants opposite the station itself, and a knocking shop next to the hotel with another opposite across the street. Obviously an older part of the old port area, but is up and coming and everything you need is nearby. Apparently the TGV is arriving in 2017, then it will only be 2 hours to Paris !! A safe and tranquil area of the city, and a quiet efficient atmosphere in the hotel itself, absolutely no noise from the outside. We will be returning again, thanks for a very friendly stay!
Nothing fancy, but you had everything you expect in this price range. Great service and breakfast. Great for short stay as it's 3min for the main station Location was a bit off the center, but easy tram access to the center in 10min.
