ibis Styles London Southwark - near Borough Market

From the beginning until the end, our stay at the ibis London Southwark was perfect. The reason of our trip was to celebrate our anniversry, we told them that and they surprised us!! We found flowers (they were real btw), chocolate, a word from the team and they gave us a room with a view to the shard. I mean the hotel is very beautiful, very cosy decoration, nice breakfast, clean and well located, but the staff it's something else...all of them were very nice to us. I recomed this hotel 101%, you won't regret. Thank you very much to all and keep going the good job your doing

Another excellent stay at this great little budget hotel. The young staff are exceptionally helpful and keen to please which is lovely. Rooms are clean, have everything you need and are pretty funky too! Superb location and an impressive inclusive breakfast too. Why pay more? Our new favourite!

Initially I was pleased walking into the lobby which is quite nice but with no check in desk and no uniformed members of staff it quickly became confusing of how to check in. Once I did, I went up to my room which the room was ok, it was mostly clean however all around the window was covered in mould. The air con was very noisy, which would be fine if it was effective in cooling the room but it wasn't. The layout of the room wasnt ideal either, I know its London so space is at a premium, however for example the laptop safe in the wardrobe would be great but the wardrobe door hits the built in bedside table so you cant open the door enough to get a laptop in. The part of the room that really fell down was the bathroom, it was terrible! It looked like it was from the 80s and was really dirty. The shower cubicle had loads of mould in there and the shower head was too low for me to used without ducking and I'm not even 6 foot. Honestly it was the worst hotel bathroom I've used, any worse and I wouldn't have stayed in the room. Breakfast was another disappointment, it's a bit unusual to have a continental breakfast in the uk and there wasn't enough tables for everyone. I raised the issue to who I think was the manager on checkout but all she said was that they had renovated the rooms and not the bathrooms. Realistically I should have realised this as on their website they don't show pictures of the bathrooms. The location was pretty good in fairness very close to millennium bridge. Overall, I don't see the point of staying here and I won't be again as in London there are so many hotels to choose from and this one doesn't have any redeeming factors Nextdoor is the Novotel, which is the same group, similar price and I think it has updated bathrooms so probably worth staying there,

staff friendly, hotel good but the room I stayed in was awfully noisy. Some sort of a motor running in a cupboard in the stairwell next to the room kept running all night, and was louder than the aircon unit that was actually in the room.

I love visiting London and staying at Ibis Styles Southwark Rose was a fantastic experience. The location is great, close to bridges, buses, tube stations. The staff was very accommodating and helped whenever possible. The free breakfast was outstanding with all types of meats, cheeses, cereals, pastries, coffees, etc. Overall I had a great stay here and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

I loved the hotel, it was in a great location, it was artsy and funky and fun, easy to get in and out of. The breakfast was great and the rooms were nice. My only complaint was the bed, my bed was hard as a rock and the pillows were lumpy and awful. Otherwise it was a great hotel and great staff.

Modern, trendy hotel in good location close to Borough Market and easy access to central London. Decor is great with many interesting features and furniture/fittings. Very friendly staff all round and check in and out was friendly and efficiient. Room was great with modern decor/features. Comfortable and clean. Look forward to my next visit.

Good hotel in a good spot! Situated in Southwark where London is happening and with central London just across the Southwark bridge. Very nice and helpfull staff. Decent breakfast.Good extra services.

The hotel and staff were welcoming and helpful. It was clean, quiet and the room was spacious. Location was great, breakfast was generous, just not quite as delicious at the Ibis at Blackfriars, no butter and none of the fabulous cooked chorizo/smashed avocado. Efficient service. Would definitely recommend. Pretty good value considering proximity to Borough market, Southbank, St Pauls etc.

Excellent hotel in a very good location. The rooms are very quiet, and the curtains cut out most outside light. Breakfast was included in our booking, and provided a good selection of juice, fresh fruit salad, cereals, cold meats, cheeses, hard-boiled eggs, yoghurt, pastries, and unlimited tea and coffee. The rooms are rather small for the very large beds, but adequate and well equipped. The staff are extremely helpful, and coped very well with the emergency on 3 June 2017. It would be useful to have an additional waste basket in the main room (the one in the bathroom is rather small). The air conditioning (we needed the cooling setting) seemed to work when we arrived, but after the 2nd day didn't cool adequately, which made sleeping uncomfortable. I found the pillows rather hard.

Very nice hotel, staff is very friendly & helpfull. Rooms are clean and cheerfull, with very good beds. Restaurant / menu is not spectactular, but who needs that with Borough Market around the corner. Really enjoyed the stay.

On arrival, don't go looking for a reception desk and staff in uniform. Instead there is a quick and simple check-in via a hand held tablet and a welcome from the friendly staff in casual clothes. This hotel is full of stylish touches with a theatreland theme, unusual and eclectic interior design and furniture. The rooms continue the theme, comfortable and well-appointed. In the morning the buffet breakfast is generous with good variety of foods on offer, the staff are there replenishing the food and drinks on offer, efficiently clearing the tables etc while being unobtrusive. We would stay again another time.

I recently had a great stay at this hotel. It is in a wonderful location, and staff are terrific. We were close to the London Bridge Station and used the underground to get around. A few stations from all tourist spots and the theatres.

Hotel well located The team is friendly and really helpfull The design of the tools and lobby is charming. We are feeling at home. The breakfast is good, with fresh bread and bakery. The rooms are convenient but I did not like the mattress

Very modern and funky hotel in a great area very near to Borough Market and the South Bank. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was good too, no hot food but plenty of other choices. The bed was a little hard for our liking but that was our only fault with this hotel. Booked through the Accor Happy Monday promotion and it was a steal for central London.

As soon as you go into the hotel, it is clear as where the "Styles" comes from. This hotel is themed "Film and Theatre" as the Globe theatre is nearby. The reception staff were very efficient as their is no reception desk. The lifts also have a theme, " Yellow Brick Road" in one of them. The hotel is very clean and the rooms not to small by London standards and breakfast is a buffet with no hot food, except boiled eggs. It got busy at 9.00am but empty between 10.00/11.00am. The hotel is walking distance to London Bridge/Tube Station, Millennium Bridge, St Paul Cathedral, The Tate, Shakespeares Globe, a Little bit further on by walking are a lot of other tourist sites. I would stay here again as it is in a good position for the tourist sights and not too far from the west end.

Spent 2 nights here with 3 friends. Delighted with the Hotel from arrival until our departure. Quirky decor & furnishings, friendly staff and no formality - no reception desk! Tea & coffee available all day long & a delightful bar area for a night time tipple. Highly recommended & will be visiting again.

The common parts and room decoration are very stylish. The redesign of the hotel decoration occured few years ago to offer a brand new experience from check in to check out. But, even if the framework is really nice, basic services such as room cleaning aren't so good. For example they didn't changes dirty cups and renew teabags, wich is obviously the real basic. However, location within London is perfect (on Jubilee & Northern), near Borough Market, Tate Modern, St Paul, etc... is just perfect and worth these small inconveniences.

The Ibis Styles Southwark hotel is really wonderful. We liked the character of the interior. From the hotel you can easily walk to Southwark Cathedral, Borougmarket and the Shard. There are plenty of possibilities to dine out in the neighborhood of the hotel. Many monuments are on walking distance. WE also like the possibility to take the boat from Tate Modern into the city and especially to Tate Brittain. Breakfast was very also good.
