The room window did not lock and the noise from the street can be heard in the room. We tried changing rooms but other rooms had old mattresses - we usually stay at the IBIS Style because of the comfortable mattresses. The hotel needs an uplifting - it is not the usual IBIS Style standard I am used to or expect. The staff however was very cordial, friendly and helpful.
The outside-of-centre location was not a problem, as it is less than two minutes walk to the tram station and the trams run frequently; journey time to the city centre was under ten minutes. The room was fairly spacious, relative to other hotels we have stayed at in France. Housekeeping kept the room spotless throughout our four nights stay. The two big drawbacks for us were having no tea & coffee making facilities in the room and no in-room valuables safe. The breakfast was the usual buffet (predominantly cold items), which we found to be OK. We found the Reception staff to be helpful when we requested assistance.
Rooms are nothing to rave about and bathroom is quite small, but for 1 person is fine. Breakfast quality and average was a lot better than I expected. Tram stop is within easy walking distance so easy journey to city or airport.
Very good all-round - excellent restaurant with one of the best waitresses we have had the pleasure of meeting in our travels. Perfect location for old city wanders. First class Lebanese restaurant nearby. Staff all very good. Room comfortable
Spacious room overlooking Bordeaux. Friendly welcome with little gifts on the room ( candy, two bottles of water ). Comfortable beds, good shower. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Not far from the city center.
Perfect location - easy transfer from airport. Really clean room. Lovely bathroom. Comfortable bed and lovely bed linen. Roomy. Nice decor. Brilliant breakfast. A perfect booking! Helpful front of house organising baggage and taxi. Recommend very highly.
Good location. Ten minutes walk to town centre. Also tram ride near by. Excellent breakfast and staff very helpful. Would recommend hotel to friends and family The only down site is that the bay in the car park are very tight
I feel no-one will believe a 5-star rating for an inexpensive hotel, hence my 4-star rating. My room was quiet, clean, two large windows, very comfortable bed, good shower and complimentary bottle of water. Complimentary buffet breakfast including juices (you could even juice fresh oranges), fruit, yoghurt, cereals, cheeses, ham, dried fruits, every bread/roll imaginable sweet/savoury, fresh tea, coffee, chocolate. And more I can't recall. As fatigued travellers, we ate at the restaurant the first night. Blackboard menu with local, fresh ingredients. It was so good, we returned our second (last) night. Very affordable and what better than to be able to have a couple of vins rouges without needing to drive or walk home. All staff we experienced were extremely polite and helpful, even allowing me to stumble through my basic French when their English was perfect. The tram stop was perhaps 50 metres from the hotel; a very short ride to the heart of the CBD. I will stay here again, should I (hopefully) return to Bordeaux - a very likeable city.
A typical Ibis hotel. Very well located, Clean and staff friendly and well informed. Secure underground parking (8€ per day) but takes some skill to negotiate ramps etc. Trams and buses just outside, (not noisy). The room was a reasonable size with minimum extras but there was NO VENTILATION. Or at least there was some but it was not switched. Opening the window did make it noisy with the proximity of the Police and Fire stations a 100m or so away! Apparently too early in the year to switch on the air conditioning. Continental breakfast very good. Restaurant not open over weekends for evening meals. I would stay there again
Room was overall ok. The only thing I could complain about was that the matress was pretty used on the right side, having a "hole" in the middle, making it a little more difficult to sleep in any other position than on one side. But wouldn't "take down stars" because of that. Breakfast was OK (even better, given the usual French standards) and the fact that it was included was an advantage.
We were so pleasantly surprised that a large chain of hotels such as Ibis could be so good, offering such a personal service. The restaurant is excellent, everything being cooked from scratch. The bedrooms are simple, but warm extremely clean and cozy.
I could not park because the roof box made the car too high. That was the only blot on the stay. The service was good. Breakfast provided well presented tasty food with a great choice. Room a good size and comfortable. Shower over the bath a slight disadvantage.
Symbol states disabled friendly this is not the case. Room was large Toilet too high with only a small handle for grasping Room had a bath which also had a very small handle for grasping and bath was not user friendly at all. A lack of handles generally in the bathroom. Bathroom mirror was too high to use. Disabled toilet in reception was impossible to use without assistance. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel was well positioned for trams which were disabled friendly.
The Ibis Meriadeck is typical of this chain of hotels but comfortable and served good food. It is ideally situated for those touring the city of Bordeaux being on a tram line and having underground parking.
Reasonable hotel. Nice room and good bathroom. Lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Wifi was a bit temperamental would prefer an all in price rather than separate charge for breakfast.
The increase in price of the style hotel was not warranted compared with Ibis Budget hotels. The room showed signs that the management were not on top of things. In the room the w.c. was badly discoloured by calcareous deposits and the height adjustment on the shower had failed. At breakfast there were two physically identical hot drink dispensers, but one only dispensed hot chocolate, although it was made to dispense a variety of hot drinks, the other dispensed coffee, tea, hot milk, hot water but was off service for 5 minutes because it required to be replenished with coffee.
Very small room, very narrow twin beds (80 cm width each!), very small bathroom with sink trapped between bath and technical sheath), very small and unique lift for more than 100 rooms and two car park levels. Does not worth the price paid for one night.
great, close to old town section, near tram, nice rooms no street noise and b-fast was also ok,nothing to complain just little hard to find since other ibis hotels are so close to our ibis hotel, thanks for all, regards dan
