This is a review of two halves... The hotel itself is well-located on a leisure park with a secure car park, away from road noise. We were allocated a family room and although the children didn't enjoy sharing a sofa bed, it was a large and comfortable room. The breakfast in the hotel was good and all the common areas were well-appointed and clean. However, I'm afraid that I cannot recommend this hotel. We booked two months before travel on a pre-paid rate. A few days before our booked stay, we were invited by Accor Hotels to use the online check-in facility. During the process, I was asked to input card details; as I assumed this was purely for security reasons, I did so. When checking my bank account online later the same morning, I discovered that Accor (or more specifically Ibis Styles in Jaux) had debited the same amount as the pre-paid amount from my account. I immediately rang the hotel to find out why. The person I spoke to said that it was not possible that this amount had been taken. I rang Accor customer service who informed me that it was the hotel and not the group who had taken my money for a second time. So, yet again, I went back to the hotel who said it was definitely not them and they had no idea why I had been charged. This was a most frustrating situation, especially since, although I would consider my French to be reasonable for a British person, I am not fluent. The manager was extremely patronising and told me that I had made a mistake - in fact, he and a colleague were clearly laughing at me, which I felt was very unprofessional and pointed this out. They would not back down though and insisted that they hadn't taken any more money from me. During my stay at the hotel, I spoke to the lady on the front desk who entirely understood the problem and having seen a screen shot of my online banking app, showing clearly that the hotel had removed funds from my account that morning, said that she would sort this out for me. That was last Wednesday morning and 5 days later, the money has still not been refunded to me. Both Accor and the hotel are entirely ignoring my emails. As far as I am concerned, this money has been taken in error and is therefore theft. I have been a happy customer of Accor for many years but I am afraid that I could not recommend this hotel in any way due to the poor level of customer service. Neither would I consider staying in another Accor hotel. I am genuinely horrified by the treatment I have received.
Arriving at 8pm the hotel was easy to find with plenty of secure parking available. The gentleman on reception was welcoming, efficient and friendly. We enquired about dining locally and he provided a wealth of information on local establishments. Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. The complimentary breakfast was excellent. Overall this hotel offers exceptional value for money and we have no hesitation recommending it.
Great location with plenty of restaurants locally to choose from - Very helpful and pleasant staff - All clean and modern, a bizarre shower/bathroom which basically meant when you were using the bathroom you could be seen by your partner as it had a glass wall which faces into the room..The beds are obviously two singles that zipped together so plenty of room but had a dip so my husband said he felt like he kept rolling in to the middle, assuming we were just unlucky with the bed - Still recommend
My wife and I arrived here somewhat tired after a long journey and were given a warm and helpful reception. Our room was extremely good and comfortable and the breakfast next morning was also excellent.
We are a family of five and asked for 2 adjoining rooms for a 3 night stay. The rooms were excellent, spacious and clean with A/C if required. The hotel is in an ideal location overlooking green fields on one side and next to a retail centre on the other but is extremely quiet and only a five minute drive from the main A1 autoroute. The rate included a substantial buffet breakfast, and the staff were helpful and friendly. All in all a very pleasant stay and we would certainly use this hotel again.
A fantastic hotel for an overnight stop. This hotel was modern with clean lines and very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms were spacious for a family of 4 with a pleasant decor and a wonderful shower room suite. My daughter loved the pink glass in the shower cubicle! A wonderful choice of breakfast which was included in the rate. Will definitely be back again.
We like to stay in the Ibis Styles hotels when overnighting in France en-route to our final destination. They are always consistent in terms of service and cleanliness. This hotel was no exception. Very friendly staff, comfortable rooms and very clean. We like the funky decor and our daughter enjoys the free WiFi. Breakfast is basic but more than substantial and this hotel is within a 2/3 minute walking distance to a a number of restaurants. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
The only complaint is the hotel Wi-Fi is not compatible with BT Internet. It is not a fault of our laptops as we have Vista on one & Windows 7 on the other. We kept getting asked for the 10 digit code, which reception did not have & claimed we didn't need. Wi-Fi is a must for us when travelling. The hotel is like a trendy Ibis & good. Several eateries & a shopping centre are within easy walking.
One night stay on the way back from the south of France. Great location for us close to motorway and the following day we went to Pierrefonds, also very close. Situated on retail park with lots of restaurants. Guy on reception was very helpful, looking up opening hours of local store for us. Public areas are fun, ladies toilets worth checking out just for the sinks!! Breakfast was good - if a little chaotic - usual continental fare. Would stay again with pleasure.
Stayed one night on way back to Calais. Good air conditioned family room with good bathroom and comfy beds. We all slept well although there was some noise from the leisure businesses and car park on the commercial centre nearby. Not much space for breakfast, with food spread across two sides of a counter and also the counter opposite making it a little cramped with everyone trying to get to everything, plus too few seats for everyone staying. Seems to rely on everyone eating at different times. Hotel was nowhere near full so could be an issue when busy. Felt pressured to eat up quickly and make space for others. Overall a nice place to stop though and close to the autoroute. Would stay here again on way to or from the coast.
