My wife and I have just completed a pleasant 2 weeks at this hotel. We've been staying here on a regular basis for the past 6 years, sometimes for 4-week stretches or longer. The staff are very friendly, helpful and professional, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The only downside is the cost (hence the 4 stars). Over the past year or so, the price of a room has has shot up to the point of being ridiculous for a 3-star hotel ... albeit a nice hotel.

On entering the hotel greeted by friendly staff who had my key ready, I had prebooked on line a couple of days earlier. Told me about breakfast, dinner and the bar. Room on the second floor was comfortable and had a walk in shower. There was a problem with the heat in the room but a call to reception had it fixed in less than 15 minutes (a previous occupant had broken the control knob off but maintenance quickly replaces the entire control unit). Proves the hotel stating any complaints will be resolved within 15 minutes, well done.

New trainee staff were good but couldn’t see regular staff WiFi kept dropping out. Coach loaf in so assume due to this but stopped me from working. Challenged over getting a takeaway coffee in the morn

Stayed at e few Ibis hotels. Calling them Budget is selling them short. Always clean, modern and well equipped with friendly staff. There was free parking in Gloucester with a bus stop for Gloucester and Cheltenham just around the corner. Highly recommend.

The cost of a plastic spoon to help me stir my tea and a plastic bag to put the tea bags in, would have been nice. Forget the marketing hype it takes so little to show they care. Be prepared for a zillion emails! Even when you opt out. You have a choice, window closed and quite or open for air and noisy. Curtain closed for blackout or orange glow from street. Otherwise OK for one night. N

I booked to stay one night plus a buffet meal. I worked hard during the day and was ready for a shower and meal. When I arrived I discovered I was booked in for the following week. They did have just one room left but I would have to pay again as they wouldn’t swop the dates. I ended up having to drive 2 hrs back home plus failed to get money back for wasted stay night and meal. Well done “team at Gloucester. Well handled NOT”

Room and hotel was expected. Stayed two nights and room wasn't cleaned. No clean towels. No new coffee supplies. In fact they hadn't been in at all. When I queried at reception when we got back in the evening, I as told I should have put the 'clean my room' sign on my door!

The reception was polite and efficient, and I was given the quiet room which I had requested. Very comfortable bed, good internet access, in a clean and light room. I ate in the hotel's restaurant each evening, and really enjoyed both meals. Breakfasts also were satisfying (I don't eat a big breakfast anyway). Overall, a very pleasant stay.

We love staying here. Lovely clean hotel with lovely staff. We where greeted by the really pleasant lady on reception ( can’t remember her name, but she has a lovely foreign accent, and wears a red top ). The breakfasts are always superb, and are cooked and presented by a really nice Italian lady ( I think she is called Paula ) She also greets us with her lovely smile. The rooms are nice and spotless clean.

Hi I am sorry to say that the room was not clean and the bed not made properly as the mattress was not closed properly so it was uncomfortable. Under the bed there was dust and mess not the normal that I have been used too, It was a shame.

Was very pleased to see the new cream bedding and towels, bed topper and I am sure the beds seemed larger, reception very friendly and explained everything simply, we like the security on entering the lift to access the floor to your rooms. also they had read our preferences to floor and room facing .

Not a bad room with a decent bathroom, free parking onsite, and a nice bar area, not that I used the bar on this particular trip. Downsides it's arguably a bit hard to find but I'm a luddite who doesn't use sat navs. The wooden floor of the hotel room whilst attractive and clean, was a bit slippy when wet. More happily there was a very sensible bedside light switch system. Felt the breakfast set up was just a bit lacking in information/guidance. A few basic notices flagging up the locations of plates and so on might just oil the wheels so to speak. The food itself was fine. Probably one can't go too far wrong picking this Ibis Hotel....

Arrived late at night. Great welcome from friendly staff on duty. Explained about the hotel facilities. Very clean large bedroom. Great nights sleep. Excellent value for money. I would recommend this hotel.

Bit of a way from the night life but the hotel facilities and staff mede up for this. We were very well looked after even though the hotel was pretty busy. The room was up to date and very comfortable. Our main reason for choosing the hotel was because I am an Accord member and it is a dog friendly hotel

This was my first time to Gloucester and I'd booked an ibis as I've found them to be comfortable, reasonably priced and welcoming. On this occasion I can say that the first two reasons were met and possibly the third if I could have understood the young man on reception. Whilst English definitely wasn't his first language I struggle to believe that it was even his second or third. I do not believe that expecting front of house staff to be understandable is an unreasonable request.

Tremendous value for money when booked in advance as Accor member! Sensibly the varied menu is limited, but again, high quality and different from the usual 'offerings' Together with the high ratings below, is the reason that I would always firstly look at the accorhotel web site!

We have stayed here a number of times and always found it the perfect stop off on our trips to the South West coast. Nice and clean with friendly staff, also in a great position for good transport links to the centre of Gloucester.

We stayed at Ibis Gloucester for one night before my sons wedding. We found it to be spotlessly clean, the staff were extremely polite and efficient. Rooms are sparse but functional. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and a fairly good standard. They could have done with a few more staff to refill buffet and clear tables.

Check in was very smooth and the night staff were very helpful when I arrived after midnight after a long journey and 4 hours in a hospital with a relative. They organised some food and drink for me. The room was clean and well organised.

Reception staff appear unfriendly and uninterested. Customer service non existent! Restaurant resembled a cheap cafeteria. Bed so hard it's debatable if the floor would be any harder, mattress did not appear to be sprung.. Requested extra duvets in an attempt to cushion the bed somewhat, waited over 1 and 3/4 hours but they never appeared. We found an alternative hotel on the Internet and checked out after about 2 1/2 hours! They then had the cheek to try to charge us 50% of cost of room!
