I knew what to expect with an Ibis Budget; I was a frequent user of Etap properties before the rebrand. They are basic, but provide everything you need. The layout is not to all tastes, but I quite like them.
This property was easy to find after a long drive, so that was much appreciated. It was located in an area with a fair selection of restaurants nearby and right next to a bowling alley/laser-tag complex - at which we spent most of our evening!
It felt like one lady was running the hotel - we saw no other member of staff, only what seemed like a relative helping her out. She was very welcoming, polite and her English was good (of real help to my mono-lingual relatives).
I had booked three triple rooms. On arrival I was asked if I would like non-smoking and said yes, however this changed the room type to double rooms on the top (non-smoking) floor. The only triple available was on the ground floor, so we split the party, but it isn't a large building to navigate.
The breakfast wasn't expensive, but the choices were a little on the slim side - typical croissant and cereal affair, but there are restaurant choices nearby as an alternative.
