Great hotel, service excellent, staff perfect attitude and friendly, extremely clean rooms, VG Breakfast, location is the best in the city with access to all Buses and trains stations, recommended at all level.
Good hôtel because good rooms, space and clean, but i missed to have restaurant option for diner , we had to leave the hotel and walk a little bit for a restaurant. Maybe to have a least a nice large room service .
Interesting old building ,would have preferred shower in cubicle not over bath but other wise v.good, staff very helpful .showed us best place for evening manhood sound insulation in rooms, double doors into rooms !!
The most horrible Ibis Hotel I have ever been to. Location is perfect for City visit and the crew is as always very nice but the rest is horrible. Once this hotel (Royal Hotel) have been a very nice hotel with bus-boys at the door to help you in. Now you just need to figure out yourself how to open 2 contrary opening doors with all your luggage in your hands and after you have been taking the first hurdle, the first stairs. Then when you entered and you checked in hurdle two appears, the next stairs!. Then to the 4th floor (there was my room) door number 3 to be opened with hands full with luggage. And then at the room the best surprise because also there we had to open 2 doors the only difference is that the door s were opening both a different direction. Having that said the second door to open had an extreme door closer and imagen how that would work with both hands covered in lugage... The room was noisy, I could hear my neighbours talking and coughing watching TV, it was cold and windy and when you turn on the airco there was only WARM air. The hotel is outdated and not for 2016. I am very sorry to write this horrible review but it is what it is.
We arrived in Metz by train - the hotel is very close to the station. The reception staff were helpful and our room was clean with good storage. The bathroom had a separate toilet. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, in clean and colourful surroundings.
The hotel is an old building refitted according to today's hotel standards, the old structure is still to be seen, what gives some charme to the interiors. The room was big and well furnished. The hotel is well located and not far from the city center. Sad to say but the employee in the reception was performing below the offered structures, he was "just" in all aspects. Unfortunately it seems to be a problem in all IBIS chain, where the weak point seems to be the personal. The real only unpleasant point to mention was that the wireless internet was temporarily not working during our stay, but that can happens even in our home.
The hotel started off bad and got worse. I first of all was give a key for a room which was occupied and surprise the gentleman lying in his bed!!!. The lift wasn't allowed to be used in the morning to control the flow of traffic. At breakfast the table were left full of dirty plates and there was no clean plates or glasses left unless you arrive at 6.30. my colleague had to use a child's plastic plate 2 mornings in a row as they were the only ones left!!! will not go back.
Had problems with lock on outer door jamming, and battle to get through an inner and outer door. Hardly any space between end of bed and desk. Breakfast area chaotic. Staff spoke passable English. Well-situated for station. Parking limited.
We stopped in Metz on our way home from the Provence and visited an exhibition on Sunday morning in the nearby Popidou Centre. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was rather simple but of good quality. Staff was very helpful and friendly. A very pleasant stay indeed!
This is a really good Ibis. It has character and is right around the corner from the train station but in a very nice area with a park between the streets in front of it. It is within walking distance of all the interesting things to see it Metz. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean and very nice. The bathroom was large. This is a very good buy for the money.
