Room was clean with shower, basin and toilet. Bed was large and comfortable, linen was spotless. Had full control of heating in the room and was more than adequate. Check out time of midday was convenient as was working during most of the night. My partner slept soundly with no disturbance until I came in.

2 star accommodation, clean tidy and well presented. Staff were very helpful. Room large enough for two adults; all facilities were working; an ideal transit / commuter hotel. Within easy walking distance of city centre.

Although the SWtaff are excellent at this Hotel I am very disappointed with Accor/IBIS. I have stayed weekly at this Hotel averaging 4 nights per week and have rocketed the price up for two weeks in June from £140/week to £350-£400/week and will not consider their loyal Customers. It stinks. I hope you lose many Customers through your greed. I've never complained before but now I will be raising the issues of stained linen that wouldn't wash clean, desk laminate sellotaped together, broken mirrors and stale smells on entry to the Rooms. Disgusting attitude towards loyalty!!!

Just off the M4. Clearly visible from the motorway. Not much around the location. We walked into Newport about 20 minutes. Not a pretty trek. Plenty of pubs, restaurants, shops etc. Took a cab back, easy to organise and not costly. If new fancy a walk after a motorway drive, the Lyceum pub is a closer alternative, good 'local'.

Booked online on the day I stayed. Wanted somewhere cheap and handy for a night out in Newport with friends. Staff helpful and friendly, room was clean but shower smelled a bit drainy before I used it. Nice and quiet overnight. Was great for what I payed

Hotel Ibis Budget is a great hotel to stay in Mid Winter. Its position right by an M4 interchange Malpas- just before Brynglas Tunnels means no problems joining motorway in cold frosty or snowy weather. The fire station for Newport is with 50 yards too. About a mile down Malpas Rd is Friars Walk shopping centre ( a new shopping area with Debenhams, Marks and Spencers Simply food and many restaurants ) A cinema is included in this centre and The Dolman Theatre where musicals and Plays are performed is in an adjacent shopping centre. The Newport Leisure Centre with swimming pool and wave machine, plus the Riverfront theatre are across the road Banks Building Societies, Boots ,Superdrug Paper card shops Waterstones book shop are situated in Commercial Street within 200 yards of Friar Walk. The beds are comfortable. The staff friendly and there is enough car parking space for everybody

I booked in to the Hotel as I was attending a work party in Newport. The location was good access around the rear not great but expectable, the staff were excellent the room was very good not to over the top clean warm and tidy defiantly stay there again.

It was a budget hotel and that is exactly what you get. The rooms were small and clean. We got fresh towels each day. There were free teas and coffees available from reception - but no kettle in room. I was glad I brought my own hairdryer. Continental breakfasts were available. You pay for what you get !

The hotel was better than we had anticipated, very convenient for our next day in Cardiff. Met by friendly staff, free tea, coffee and fruit. Our room was small but very clean with a nice shower, comfy bed.

Very friendly clean and comfy dogs made most welcome great place for walks as canal near by and great dog walks good food available near by and very good walks and attractions near by great base to explore

Shower very good but beds very hard noise level high due to being next too motorway and local fire station clean band hit and miss on the air con though some times it works but temperature can not be altered

More money than the better Ibis in Swansea and very bad no sofa as requested would no go back like a hospital room it was very clean but that is it the room in very small no ventilation as I say would not go back

A friendly efficient welcome, very comfortable room, an extremely well prepared pizza, a comfortable night and an enjoyable breakfast all combined to give me a wonderful stay at a very reasonable price - true hospitality professionals. Very many thanks.

On the edge of town but a bus stops nearby on main road and is walkable from rail station or centre. Usual ibis budget hotel standard but still good and slightly better than expected. Didn't order breakfast as I prefer a cooked breakfast, two or three cafes are a short walk away. Tea/coffee (free) available throughout the day. There is a small selection of snacks/beers at a premium price. Bed ok but basic comfort. Overall stay for two nights good but priced out of third night due to Champions League (see previous review)

The room rate was five times the price having a normal day, the very bad quality of the mattress, as well as pillows. Room very small, claustrophobic feeling. The hotel staff did his best to please guests.

Unfortunately there were overnight road works on the motorway next to this hotel during both nights of our stay. The drone of generators and machinery was difficult to sleep through. The parking was again painful as we had to park at the furthest point away from the hotel given the lack of available disabled parking spaces. Cars that park in these spaces should also display the appropriate pass.
