Great location for our visit to Swansea,it seems that the area is being rejuvenated with marina and shopping mall, Also the hotel is very close to the American diner Denny's. Hotel has a great restaurant and the staff are extremely friendly, efficient and professional
Stayed here again whilst visiting family in South Wales as it's convenient and excellent value for money. Staff are friendly and approachable. Good breakfast selection. We'll be back again later in the year.
Staff can't do enough for you and hotel getting even better with a refurbishment. I've had the pleasure to stay a few times on business and it is a very friendly and comfortable environment to spend a night away from home.
As always (and we've stayed a few times now at Swansea) the staff were welcoming, accommodating and ensured a positive experience. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast choice good and filling. Overall an excellent experience.
The room was booked for two well in advance, but I had to ask for extra towels, and they were not exactly big. The first night there were no bins either in the room or the bathroom, and no glasses or plastic cups to drink the 2 special gifts of bottled water! The second day we managed to get one bin in the bathroom - but still no glasses or plastic cups, so wash up your mugs to drink the water and rinse and spit!!!! Unbleached sheets and pillow cases, not really my thing but ok. Sadly though the bed was so uncomfortable neither of us slept well, and as soon as you put your head on the pillow the filling scattered to each end! Staff need to pay attention to small things that make a good stay. And four notes to read????? How many guests will bother to read them all? I was disapointed, got a good deal but think I would rather have paid more and stayed at the hotel down the road.
Despite years of building up a good relationship with Ibis and staying there exclusivly, I had got used to the niceties of Platinum card life. The free drink, the chocolate in the room. Little touches that show you appreciate my custom. About a year ago, someone stole all of my points and I am now just a normal customer and it showed.
Hair dryer didn’t work had to leave with wet hair in the freezing cold Plug socket to charge phone didn’t work, so no charge for journey back Sink plug wouldn’t work, nice view of toothpaste spit No spoons or glasses in room
On site free parking for my high top transit van. Food was not as described on menu (which was not at all extensive) and could not be put right. We were given a free breakfast but only after complaint in the morning. Cheerful staff, clean room.
I took the half board option - £80.00, decent choice of evening meals. and pretty good breakfast too. its a bit of a pain if you your dinner in your room, as you have to stop what you're doing and go and collect it. just the job for a weary traveller.
Since the dawn of time man has searched for answers, questions of their place in the universe echo through college hallways and sweep through University dorms stretching out and up into the infinite space they so carefully ponder. My friends.... I can now say that I have found my place in between the bar and the breakfast area. I would like to thank every member of staff for the many happy memories, I leave with them a little piece of my charred heart and I know when I return I will always be welcomed. It is without doubt the greatest hotel in the history of mankind, I say this with no overstatement and will say it again the GREATEST hotel in the HISTORY of all mankind. Symphonies shall be written, minstrels Will tell stories, the people will flock in droves. How's that for a good review Danny boy eh?. Much love to you all xxx
I was so pleased to discover that this ibis had not been trashed by the makeover team. It has a bar and a restaurant, OK the food is a bit mass produced from a micro wave but at least there is a proper breakfast. Manchester ibis used to serve a proper breakfast now someone appears with what they think is a breakfast on a plate no choice at all.
I stayed for 3 nights, of which for 2 days the room was not cleaned and no towels were changed. The towels were replaced only before the day of departure, after my visit at reception. The lady at the reception kindly apologized for the situation.
we have been to this hotel at various times of the year for almost 10 years ,the staff from the manager Kate to all the rest of the staff( we now class as good friends) are so freindly, we are at ease when we arrive and they go the extra mile if anybody have any issues The hotel is always spotlessly clean and tidy all through the property and it is just the right distance for Swansea city centre..
Dropped something on floor that meant had to move 2 seat sofa which exposed a lot of dust, dirt & old sweets from previous occupants. Sink waste blocked so water took forever to run away. General room cleaning not usual standard. Reported all of this to reception first evening but nothing happened. Reported again at time of leaving.
6 rooms booked on 11 Nov... lots of drunk youngsters and loads of noise throughout the night and early morning. Regular customer, but this one was not good. Breakfast staff also lacking in customer care skills.
The Ibis Swansea continues to offer great value, with staff who will go out of their way to make your stay special. They offer all the ibis brand reliability and this Ibis has a real Welsh and Swansea flavour with lots about the local area, very informative and with some staff welsh speakers an extra special welcome home to those who are welsh. The ground floor has been refurbished and offers relaxing and pleasant area to socialise, the lighting in particular has been very thoughtfully done. The bedrooms upstairs have the wonderful comfortable Ibis beds and for quieter rooms away from traffic ask for a room on the car park side. It is a pleasant stroll down through the Marina to where the Dylan Theatre and the lovely Seamans mission gallery. The Queens is a real taste of old Swansea with pictures of the old docks and home made food. The old pump house offers more stylish and gastropub style dining. A further walk past the statue of Captain Cat will take you to Swansea bay and a view of the mumbles- if you love a good walk or run, you can run along the sea front as far as the mumbles itself. A visit to Oystermouth is a real joy as well. Back at the Ibis the manager Kate and Danny Sam and all the staff will always be there to offer advice and help . The bedrooms are to be refurbished over the year to come we understand.
Another enjoyable and relaxing stay at Swansea Ibis. Staff always very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Enjoyed tasty, reasonably priced food in the bar and the excellent breakfast. Good parking facilities and comfortable rooms. We especially enjoyed the view towards Mumbles from our room. Have already booked for our next trip in December.
We have stayed at this hotel several times before. On this stay we found the hotel well up to its usual high standard. There was a warm welcome on arrival, and the service throughout our stay was excellent and friendly.
Standard hotel which is modern and well equipped, ideal for business or leisure visits. Pleasant staff and a good well proportioned breakfast. Have stayed here previously and will no doubt stay at this Ibis hotel again.
When I booked four nights b&B for two people for £153, I was a little concerned that the hotel may not be the best. I was wonderfully surprised that everything about the hotel was excellent. The staff were very helpful, the room was clean and the beds (i was in a twin) were very comfortable. Our room was on the front of the hotel and overlooked car showrooms. Not a problem for us as we were out until late. I would certainly stay there again.
