Hotel Ibis is the perfect hotel for the town, its beaches and the surrounding area.Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. The breakfast especially was excellent....in a lovely dining area. Ideal in every way.
In twenty years we had driven past Martigues on a number of occasions, looking down on the town from the flyover. This time we needed a handy stopover and we are very glad to have chosen this town and hotel. Martigues has a seaside atmosphere and has many eateries just a short walk along the quay. This means that the hotel is right on the edge of town and does not suffer noise interruptions as the roundabout is quiet through the night. The carpark is secure. We enjoyed a twin room with decent space and the aircon and wifi worked well. Martigues is not far from the oil refineries at Fos but the wind generally blows off-shore which allows Martigues to enjoy its sunny situation on the banks of the large etang.
We were basically satisfied with the hotel, but the English knowledge of the personnnel was terrible. It made hard the communication. We had breakfast only one morning, but when we went down almost there was nothing remained. After requesting the personnels to give some additonally, our request was ignored. It was at 9.30, the breakfast is till 10.00.
We stayed one night during our trip from Lyon to Cannes. The hotel is located walking distance near the village of Martigues. Our stay was ok, big room and confortable, people at the desk were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we encountered two problems. Water did not drain in the sink and electric plug for shaver was not usable in the bathroom. We reported the problems the next morning before check out. I don't know if I would stay in this hotel again
My five-night stay at the Ibis Martigues was very pleasant. The hotel location is convenient to restaurants, businesses and sights, including the marina that is very close. The room was simply furnished but comfortable. The room and reception area were very clean. The reception staff were very helpful and efficient.
Easy acces to hotel location and close to downtown. Big parkplace. Positive: staff availability, general cleanliness, sleeping comfort. Negative: Towel and soap kit very poor, space in the room for luggages and dresses not enuough. Breakfast OK but expensive.
We started our France vacation here after landing in Marseille. Nice hotel, free parking We don't mind walking, so the walk into the town was easy for us. You need a car if you plan on visiting the local beaches.
The hotel is located in a quiet part of the town; the town centre is reachable within 10 monutes walk. Closed parking lot available. The room found to be convenient; some features of bath-room equipment were missing or not really operating (magnifying mirror, massage position of the shower). Charged for breakfast even though we did not have one.
well positioned hotel for the nice little town of Martigues. Excellent restaurant right next door and plenty of bars and restaurants within a short stroll alongside the marina. Good base to explore from and we would consider staying again. Rooms were a bit compact but clean with a comfortable bed. My daughter left her phone behind when we checked out. A quick phone call we got back to England and it arrived three days later (we had to pay the postage, but better that than a new phone}. Helpful staff and very quiet peaceful location.
