We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions, two or three days every year. Often at the beginning or end of a Continental road trip. Many of the staff know us and this makes for an extremely friendly hotel. The same room is invariably ready for us when we call.
They are making changes to the hotel, but the room was pleasant, and staff were excellent. We had an evening meal which was hot and reasonably priced. For breakfast there was a good buffet spread. The whole hotel was clean.
Good centrally located hotel for restaurants and motorway connections. Good private parking but limited numbers, get there early. Clean rooms and comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Did not stay for breakfast as had early start.
Stayed for one night on our way back from Euro 2016. Allocated a room initially that had not been made from the previous occupants. Although this was quickly rectified the replacement room was extremely hot & stuffy during the night with no apparent way to regulate the temperature. Beds relatively uncomfortable. No tea/coffee making facilities.
Stayed 3 overnights in Dunkerque at Ibis center. -A nice stay. The Breakfast buffet is huge!!! People in there a very nice also, particularly Stephanie with a special mention who holds the lobby at that time. -Nice people in a nice place. We were on the "rue Terquem" side which was a very quite location on the 4th floor. The room was clean and everything. I would return to that Ibis hotel with great pleasure.
Our room smelt like a dirty ashtray even the towels in the bathroom but no help from reception. Noisy extractor from kitchen opposite our room . Our room just seemed run down. Close enough for the ferry
Good value comfortable clean accommodation with friendly staff. The only issue i had was that my room was very warm and no bottled water or tea/coffee is provided in the rooms. also the seagulls in Dunkirk are very noisy!
The first time I visited the hotel I was more than happy with the reception, room and breakfast. The second time (late July) again the reception was perfect -helpful with enquiries etc. Running rather short of time for a breakfast, so none taken and cannot comment this time. The area I was disappointed with was the room. Originally the room was in block “A” but the second time it was in block “B”. The labyrinth of corridors smelt musty and damp and the room was rather disappointing –it looked tired when compared with the room in block “A”. There was some black mould around some of the joins between the shower tray and walls; not very welcoming I’m afraid.
We have stayed at this IBIS a number of times and find it is staffed by the friendliest, most helpful staff you could hope to find, from the young people on the front desk, the lady who takes care of the breakfast room to the cleaners, all charming and can't do enough for us. I have a few mobility problems and without asking find that we are always given the same room on the ground floor. The breakfast is excellent value. We really enjoy our stays there.
For its class and price, this was excellent: a quiet room and comfortable bed, with a clean and efficient bathroom. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The breakfast is ok, the typical Ibis fare, but I wish there was some hot food! Good internet provision.
This is the worst ibis hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms are tiny and run down. My room was so hot even with the window wide open. The reason being is there were hot water pipes running along the wall do it was like having the radiator on. I asked for a fan and was rudely told "you do not need a fan in Dunkirk"!!
We arrived late at night and found the desk staff very helpful with both checking and advise on parking which was on the street in front of the hotel. We had booked two rooms, both very comfortable with double beds, one very large the second smaller but still comfortable. The breakfast was very good and all staff we met were very friendly, and helpful. Have booked IBIS and always been very happy with the main brand hotels.
A late arrival which had been pre-planned with a pleasant & prompt booking-in process. A clean & pleasing room of the same good standard one can expect from Ibis; the new beds are comfortable, long & wider than the previous beds - it is also very reassuring that there is now the option to select twin-bed rooms which, after a long day's drive assures a comfortable & good night's sleep. We departed early for the ferry & did not have breakfast.
Well having stayed at IBIS hotels many times over the last few years you know what to expect and are not disappointed. This Dunkirk site is great and only a short ride from the Ferry port, which is why it was chosen.
14th July was not a memorable day in Dunkirk....City was dead, empty. Hotel location is great, downtown. On this particular day, no Wifi at all. No individual A/C so open window = Mosquitoes and seagull cries!! Clean room and bathroom
On arrival we enquired about parking to find that hotel parking cost €10 so we left the car on the street a little way from the hotel. Having spent a night a week earlier at an Ibis Budget, it was interesting to compare the two. This hotel provided a good meal whereas the budget had no restaurant. However, the room in this hotel had no air-con system and very noisy seagulls outside.
The staff were excellent and very patient with our school boy French. Whilst the rooms and floors would benefit from a 'make over' there was nothing to fault and the bar, restaurant, reception areas were very comfortable and could not be criticized . As touring motorcyclists the secure underground car park was very welcome.
Hotel not where shown on map so wasted time trying to find it. Fairly central. Request for top floor room laughed at by reception although hotel far from full. Room standard IBIS. View into internal courtyard over parking tunnel where staff met to smoke. Good breakfast, friendly staff member. Excellent large HD TV with BBC. Allowed extra hour to check out. Pleasant walk from hotel along dockside to town centre.
This was our 2nd stay at this hotel within a few weeks. The first was for 3 nights, this was for just 1. It is easy to find with underground or on road parking. Room was of the standard Ibis type and the buffet breakfast was excellent as always. A short walk into the town brings you to the Le Grand Morien restaurant where both food and service were excellent on our 2 visits. Hotel is a good place from where to visit Bruges in about an hour and Cite d’Europe near Calais.
I would not recommend this hotel. We were given a room on the first floor with a window that had no lock. I did sleep because I basically kept watch all night while my wife slept. Also the noise was horrendous. Breakfast started after we left so that was also unusable. Also, there where brown stains on the sheets on my bed.
