The hotel is well located for the Exhibition Centre. Room are small but efficient in layout. No wardrobe and limited shelf space. Good shower. Breakfast is definitely Chinese except for toast and jam.
The property needs deep changes. Lobby: floors and windows could be cleaner even if the small repair in progress Staff: no smile, poor English, gadget gaming in front of the guest, not willing to help. Everyday sex-cards slided under the door (there is a warning of that in the room) - lack of security? Very poor breakfast The in-room phone set is not connected, loose wire. The room-fan switch broken Huge spot on one of the towels Sink leakage Absolutely poor management! Just roof. Shame on Accor
The property is in the middle of a major renovation. So no restaurant and hence no breakfast even though I was allowed to include breakfast while booking. There was no notification about this renovation during booking or later when the renovation started. The room tariffs during my stay were about 25% lower than what it was when I booked (I booked about 6 months in advance). So even though I booked well in advance, I paid more. This is weird!
Room is okay with basic amenities. There is no wardrobe, Safe deposit locker available in the room. When I checked-in I am surprised to see that they are already having renovation work going on due to which No Breakfast is offered even after booking. Nor they have disclosed the status while making booking. There was water problem too due to renovation work.
Lousy staffs, lousy breakfast, lousy room, everything is lousy. My rate is inclusive of breakfast but the staff told me it was not included when I want to have my breakfast. The worst experience I have ever had with Ibis.
Hotel is in right location and service is need to improved, value is ok.poor service in room ,need add more facility like fridge ,sitting chair, breakfast standard ,cleaning, rest fine value of the money
The Hotel is near to Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre and it take 10 minutes by Taxi with charge RMB 15.- and also neighbour of Laya Plaza and just opposite Tang Mall. We should take taxi to Shanghai Science Technologies Museum paid RMB 15.-, then we can take Metro Line 2 to anywhere in Shanghai.
It was a simple and economic hotel, only to take a rest and to sleep, but its location is excellent to buy and eat something, due to many stores, Carrefour and restaurantes. It was good for my staying 4 day at this hotel in general.
1. Not within walking distance to Subway; Taxi is needed for transfering 2. Room is not wall maintain, wall paper was delaminated 3. Cleanliness is accepted 4. Next to F&B, still manaegable 5. Only suitable for traveller for exhibition purposes.
When we arrived we had to change rooms as the window could not be closed, wallpaper were peeling off from the walls. Corridors never cleaned during the entire stay , entire stay toiletries were not refilled despite informing front desk. Towels smelled of cigarettes. Call cards for massage and other services put through the room door and thrown all along the corridors. Skirting falling off the walls. Front desk unreliable could not make reservation for dinner we ended up without reservation and hard to move to another restaurant. If you require photos we are happy to provide
Rooms are poorly maintained. Walls have grime and the paint/wallpaper peeling in several places. Had to struggle to get an iron and ironing board and the housekeeping /frontdesk staff were not at all helpful. Finally on the day of checkout I registered for a wake-up call at 4am which never came until we checked out at 6am. Thankfully my phone alarm did not let me down!
We really loved the location of the hotel. Hotel is nestled in a commercial shopping complex which has cafe's and shops and a supermarket beneath. Area is beautiful to take a walk around and feel rejuvenated.Staff is good and helpful. Overall a memorable and enjoyable 1 night stay at this ibis shanghai.
The hotel is well placed with a lot of restaurants and cafes very near and it was relatively easy to get into the centre of Shanghai. My room was quite quiet looking out over the sports ground. However the room was rather shabby and the shower was not very effective. Breakfast was basically Chinese food.
The rooms had not air con... windows would not open, broken flush, leaking bathroom walls... stuffy and stinky rooms due to leakages... and no one to listen to your problems or change the room either... never again
Even as an ACCOR member, it is difficult to say that this is the best hotel from ACCOR. But, the bed is ok, the shower works and the location is pretty silent around so it is a good place just to crash. It would be nice if there was a convenience store nearer and that the hotel would provide basic tools like a bottle cap remover to open those drinks bought outside. Additionally, I paid for the breakfast but I thought the food quality was sub-par especially for the price paid.
The hotel is nicely located within commercial (mall) Pudong area although it is quite a distance from Shanghai Pudong airport. Nevertheless, it's worth the value, especially for business travelers in Pudong area.
Value for money was ok Room was dirty - lots of dust everywhere Had to call reception for additional towels and shower gel dispenser was empty. English speaking skills was lacking a little Room wasn't cleaned on 2nd day
This should be the lousiest ibis hotel I ever encounter. First of all the daily buffet breakfast spread was a few and limited choices of maybe Shanghainese food, sometimes there's not even enough of spoon/chopstick or fork. Everyday is the same food. Secondly room was the dirtiest under then Accor brand, the bottom side of the bed floor was dirty and full of dirt, I asked the housekeeper cleaning my room and she really does not care of the dust there and just simply wipe the floor. Not even a smile to me. Thirdly on the second night it was a nightmare as when I came to my room, there is not a bath towel. I rang the reception to bring me 2 towel and they bring me 2 floor towel. What is this stupidity happening?? I ran again the reception and they told they are out of towel and ask me to just use the towel meant for the toilet floor. Suckssssss.... Really angry with this happen. How can a hotel under the Accor brand have this lousy service. At the end I have to use my cloth of the day to clean up my body, they should not take my towel away to wash if they knew it will have towel shortage. It's a shame on this matter to Ibis brand of hotels. Morning I pass by the housekeeper and saw there's towel hanging and immidiately I took one to my room. This hotel is quite convenient to stay as within walking distance there is much of the F&B for you to choose and 2 Starbucks coffee nearby for daily caffeine jab. This ibis is the lousiest I ever experience and definitely will not book this again in Shanghai. In my own opinion that this hotel is out of Accor/ibis brand of hotels. Hope that you able to make things right for this hotel, else will get a bad rating by this hotel for all your Ibis chain. Stupid sucks... I'm sorry I just have to tell the true experience. I'm a member of Accor hotel brand, this is quite a let down for such a good brand name internationally even do for a budget hotel like Ibis. One last thing, please stop the guy distributing sexy image card for massage/escort service, everyday when the card is not at the front door they will refill it again with 5/6cards. I saw it much along the corridor I walk to lift and in front of other rooms too. What if we stay with children and they saw those sexy/lewd card...
Breakfast was not much choices and only Chinese meals are served.stayed there for 4 nights. Rooms are dirty, they will only clean on what can be seen, touch and feel. Below the bed was dusty and dirty. I ask the housekeeper which is doing her morning round, she seems does not want to clean it even do I show to her. Second day was the worst of a hotel I ever experience, no bath towel. They took off my towel and did not replace it. I call up and they bring me 2pcs of floor towel and tell me to use it since they have run out of towel. I have to all them second time then only they said out of towel. What is this!!!! Pretty stupid hotel I have ever experience. This is under Accor hotels group, lousy service for a international budget hotel. 3rd day morning I pass by the housekeeper doing her round and I immidiately take a towel which is at her trolley. Sigh!!!!! Have to complain to Accor, I'm your Silver status member. The only thing good is few cafes and Starbucks,KFC McD are walking distance. Near to Shanghai new expo and Maglev train although taxi are needed for a short 3-8KM. quite far from maintown.
Rates are competitive and hence I give an average rating. Otherwise its a poorly maintained hotel. The paints are peeling in the rooms. Apart from breakfast, no dining options during the rest of the day.
