Great service, from the greeting, cleaning, dining and bar use; accessible hotel from all attractions of York; we will certainly use it again for leisure too-breakfast was excellent and yet it was quiet even on the main road

I booked this hotel because of the location and car parking facility. Only to find that parking was charged - this was not evident on the website, so was slightly taken aback when charged on arrival. The other problem with the parking was not being able to park when returning from trips. Reception hopefully have refunded and suggested parking in another car park at nearly double the price or off-street parking down the road....both suggestions unsatisfactory. Location was great. I had breakfast elsewhere because I thought it was overpriced. Bed was comfortable enough.

Only 8 minute walk from station and few minutes to gate into city. Lots of cafes, restaurants and pubs next to hotel. Hotel basic but clean and lovely helpful staff. Would recommend if not wanting a posh hotel.

Dear Sirs, I find would like to complain about quite frankly the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in. I will list them below and then maybe someone can provide me we an email address so I can follow up in detail 1) The room smelt like it had severe plumbing issues from the moment we checked in 2) Hair in shower plughole 3) Could the beds be any narrower? 4) Stains and marks on both sets of sheets in our room 5) Awful shower pressure 6) Terrible bar service 7) No one seemed to care about my issues when I mentioned it 8) Dirty carpets with matted hair in several places, when was the last time it was hoovered? Quite frankly how you can justify charging £150 for that room I do not know! I look forward to your response and a full refund, simply disgusting. Regards John

Good value for the money, with pleasant and attentive staff. Accommodation was straightforward with the usual amenities and no problems were encountered during the stay. Breakfast was plentiful and there was a good variety.

Thank you to all the team at Ibis York, it was a lovely weekend. The hotel was clean, quiet, the breakfast was great - just what we expected. I also asked for a room with the view and I got it so it was very nice of the team. Would definitely recommend for friends or couples visiting York :).

We always search for room in an Ibis hotel, when we plan a trip. And every time, we get an excellent treatment and a good sleep, and in the morning a good breakfast. The people, who work at Ibis Hotels are always very friendly and helpful.

This place is like a converted student house! The shower room felt terrible & the towels were appalling (take your own) the carpets required you to keep your shoes on to feel the quality! Only a 10 minute walk to the centre but not a safe feeling walk. The only plus side was the bed & the fact we didn't spend much time there!! Oh & the parking wasn't too bad at £7 per night. The actual price I thought was a rip off. My advise stay somewhere else.

Convent for the city centre and reasonably quiet at night. Hotel external appearance looking a bit tired but inside is clean and tidy. Reception staff were very helpful with advice and local information.

Friendly welcome as always, thanks everyone we have had some lovely stays with you this summer, see you next year! A brilliant location and we loved our room up on the third floor so will expect that room next time!

Excellent position to visit all major sites by foot. Superb restaurants within walking distance and the bonus was a car park on site. Staff were helpful and pleasant nothing was a problem.couldn't fault anything about our visit and would recommend.

The hotel is ideally placed for walking into the centre via MIcklegate,we also managed to park the car in the hotel, car park so no need to worry about playing the car park shuffle during our stay. The welcome we received was excellent, going the extra mile to explain about how to find our way around the city and what we could expect from the hotel facilities. Our room was clean and comfortable I wish I had the mattress at home best nights sleep in ages, break fast is well worth the money and there is everything available with cooked food and cereals juices etc We would definitely stay again, good tip is to sign up to Accor hotels through their app as you save a further 5% of their already great advanced rates and you earn points to use against future bookings

I had a lovely large room, not at all in the traditional style of Ibis, with a large television on the wall, and a bath :-) ! It was very close to the city centre, about 10 minutes walk from the train station, and across the road from a small local chain supermarket store...and the neighbourhood was quiet. I would very much like to go back and stay there again but am finding that this hotel is usually quite expensive...I was just lucky this one time to find a bargain priced night on the Ibis website :-) !

The Ibis Hotel in York is clean & modern. The rooms are a bit bigger than the usual Ibis standard. However the location is a bit far out as most people would be interested in going into the old town, which is a 12 min walk from the hotel. It is also around 8 mins walk from the train station. However it is near to the race course which is another big draw to the city. Staff are helpful & courteous.

This was my first time at an Ibis Hotel. This one ha been converted out of an old house. Its convenient to the center. Very ordinary bare bones rooms, almost monastic for the lack of furnishings. Signeage on our floor was poor as it was down a flight with no marker to tell us.Staff were a bit off hand and need to go to charm school. At least smile when addressing customers!

Great place to stay. Used this hotel many times. Room are good clean and well equipped. Will continue to use again and again. Only downside now is they charge for parking this previously was always free so remember to add £7 to your budget when costing this hotel.

The location is tops for me......I can literally walk to 5 clients in 15 minutes. The building is well built but probably a 100 years creaking floor boards & high ceilings. It's ordinarily quiet in the rooms but unluckily for me I got a street-facing room this time, probably because it was busy. The car park used to be free which was great for me as I got permission to leave it there all day, but not now.......which explains the spaces ! Quick check-out has become a problem though., because the invoice missed out breakfast & car parking ( because I added them in on arrival).

Very good value for money speedy check in and out. Comfortable and clean also not really any road noise . Location good not in centre but not too far away. Would definitely return me and a friend went to a concert but theirs always plenty to do in York.

Stayed over for a friends wedding and really can't fault the place. It was the wife's birthday too and the team drop us a complimentary bottle of bubbles which was a very nice touch. The lobby is compact but leads on to a lovely seating area and bar. The room was, well tiny. But as a cheap and cheerful one nighter it hits the mark perfectly. The beds are very comfortable, room has the usual refreshment options, tv and shower, loo etc. The only gripe would be the showers pressure isn't the best, so don't lather up too much 😉 Parking is to the rear of the hotel and is very tight! Anything with out a turning circle of a London cab might find you tooing and froing - like me in my smax! All on all a lovely pad to use as a weekend base while you explore York's delights which is all within walking distance.

Small rooms so don't unpack, take out your case as and when you need it, Hotel within 15 mins walk town centre, NRM train station. we was on top 3rd floor where rooms are a little smaller than others, 2nd night 12.30am a strong smell of cigarette smoke on the landings/corridor someone had definatley been smoking, stench was horrible. reported to reception Jakob who didn't make much of it as he was more concerned with a couple still having a drink in the bar. Not Happy..
