Centrally located to all major attractions in Melbourne, the tram and other mode of transportation are outside hotel, The hotel's sign board needs to be placed visibly to find this jewel. The staff at the check in was very professional and helpful, thanks for a good room on 5th. The breakfast staff was also very helpful in re-providing the fruit and Tea, thanks..over all had a good stay, will stay here again on my next visit..

Ok this would have to be the first time we are staying at a budget hotel, we were in Melbourne for a wedding so we didn’t want to spend too much on accommodation being only for 2nights. No hairdryer in room, however you can leave a $20 deposit at reception and get a hairdryer your $20 will be returned to you when you return the hairdryer. No Iron in the room, however, there is a community laundry - iron and board is set up so you can go and iron your clothes. (Free) coin operated washing machines also in the laundry. Check for online bookings with breakfast included for an extra $2 It’s a very basic breakfast, cereals, toast, vegemite peanut butter, pancakes (pancake machine) clever idea! Coffee tea, fruit and some small cup cakes. Overall I found the room fairly comfortable, the rooms are very small, it’s ok for 1 or two nights. Locations was excellent right in the heart of the cbd, can walk to everything. Tram was just outside the door. Overall I think it was good value for my money!

When planning a stay of ten days in this wonderful city, the capital of Victoria, I decided to try the Ibis Budget and was not disappointed. Despite a high number of guests, reception staff were always ready to answer queries or to attend to a missing item in the breakfast room. Before my trip from NZ I inquired as to what was supplied in the rooms and discovered that one needed a flannel, shower gel and/or soap, along with shampoo and conditioner. A hairdryer can be obtained at reception for a $20.00 deposit: refunded on it's return. All the attractions of the central city are within reach of this home away from home. It is safe and I can recommend it as good value for one' s money in a relatively expensive part of the world.

Great location right in the city, room was clean, bathroom is like a little pre-fab unit stuck in the corner with a curtain around it. Bit of a rabbit warren inside the hotel itself, hallways smelled a bit funky, but for the price it was good. If I was travelling for fun on a budget I would stay here again. No complaints :)

Great place to stay in Melbourne close to everything only drawback was parking Room was not overlarge but had everything we needed Cocoon was a very quiet and relaxing atmosphere very handy for hospital and specialist visits

The hotel is located close shoppibg and restuarants. Easy walk to many of the things Melbourne CBD has to offer. Rooms are small especially shower area. Bed was comfortable. You definitely get what you pay for.

We went for the Australian Open first week last week. It’s a great location, quiet despite it being in the heart of the city, clean, bed is comfortable, shower pressure is great. Just a few things to suggest. I know it’s a great hotel due to its location but it would even be better if little things are taken into consideration. As they say, devil is in the detail. Breakfast can be better. Just adding eggs and bacon on the spread will make a massive difference. Change the lights cos it’s soo dark in there! The price of course is a bit steep cos of the Australian Open but if regular days, I think good value for money.

We had a wonderful stay at ibis Budget Melbourne CBD, The hotel location is excellent, only 3 mins walk to surrounded by cafe and restaurant and 12 mins walk to Main Station. The room was very clean. Important staff at hotel are very friendly and helpful. Specially for the girl who on duty 26 December 2017 evening, Warmly recommend for everyone to stay here during your vist in Melbourn.

I have stayed at Ibis Budget a couple of times and is such a different hotel to prior Ibis. After one night in a very small room, I asked if it were at all possible for an upgrade, seeing as I was there for 11 night. There was no problem and I was moved right away. All staff members were pleasant and amiable! Well done Ibis! I'll be back --- GB

A brilliant, central location that makes getting anywhere around Melbourne pretty simple. Being within the free tram zone was a plus but most of the CBD is walkable from the front door. Staff where pleasant and helpful. The rooms were great, good size with a comfy bed and nice touches like a fridge and air con which made staying in the city when it was hot a lot more bearable. Didn't really use communal discs but they looked cleaned and while basic, very functional. Nice mix of different types of guests who were all very friendly and welcoming.

Rooms are basic which is what you are paying for. On this basis the rooms are good and clean. The only comment I can make is that there needs to be a bench or cabinet in the bathroom to put your toiletries on.

I do not recommend it. Worst hotel I have been in the last years. Rooms are minimal. Rooms have no closet. Rooms have a small window that has no exterior view. Hotel has 2 lifts, one of them did not work during my 3-day stey and I had to wait more than 10 minutes to get from the second floor to the reception (first floor) for checking out, with luggage. So I had to carry my luggage through the fire ladder to get out of there ASAP.

Tram stop, outside the door, going to Flinders Street Station+++ Tram stop, 1 minute away, going to Spencer Street Station+++ Familiarize yourself with the Tram Network and you can get everywhere from here! 1 min to 5 min walk to 'Instant Food' ++ 1 min to 5 min walk to groceries and alcoholic beverages!++ Very courteous, helpful and friendly staff (at any hour) +++ $9.00 continental breakfast, for me, not worth it, HOWEVER, the communal fridge to store 'goodies' and the microwave oven, certainly is! ++Communal washing/drying/ironing room (times apply...staff are negotiable) ++CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN ++My stay...QUIET. QUIET, QUIET

The Ibis Budget Melbourne has a fantastic location if you want to be in the city. Close to everything. It is budget level but the room was neat and tidy and the service was very good. Just a suggestion to include some wine glasses in the room or available at reception

Ibis Budget location in CBD Melbourne is very convenient to shopping, dinning and to tourist sites. Everything is within walking distance especially to Crown Casino and Queen Victoria Market. The excellent Chinese restaurants in Chinatown are close by. The rates are outstanding and the room is spacious and clean.

This hotel is basic, but clean, comfortable and provided all we required including great location for our short city trip. Wifi was good and TV was huge for the size of the room. Would stay here again.

The hotel's location makes it so convenient to access everything in Melbourne CBD, other parts of the city and its suburbs for tourist attractions. The hotel needs to rationalize its breakfast cost considering the spread is below average.

Friendly and quick check-in. Manager was helpful. Great location in the heart of Melbourne city. Room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was simple but adequate. I would definitely stay here again.

Wasn't to impressed with the service. Rooms were nothing special but were clean for an old hotel. Location was ok on the centre of the city. Would I stay there again probally not. Rather play the extra 30 dollars for something better.

Very good location in the centre of Melbourne with all attractions within walking distance. The rooms were clean, the bed comfortable and the breakfast. The only downside was that the windows in our room didn't open unfortunately and weren't double glazed so the heat escaped as soon as you switched the noisy heater off. The air filter was also quite noisy.
