Basic room (ibis new rooms, not budget) but when you get into the room it feels like a budget hotel. Small, with plastic cubicle type shower and toilet. Small TV and small wardrobe. For an airport hotel it’s confortab enough - very quiet. However if you’re going to the NEC make sure you have the staff reactivate your key card when you get back. Every time we left our key stopped working. A staff member at one point suggested we didn’t know how to turn a door handle...! So aside from the constantly dead keys and the small room, it was adequate. Not worth £133 a night that’s for sure.


My flight was delayed many hours so I wanted to change the hotel booking for another trip to Birmingham - it was not allowed even if I had a call to hotel manager. Then I wanted to change booking of accommodation for return flight - again impossible. I lost 300 euro for nothing... Accor / Ibis hotel? Never more!!!



We were greeted politely and efficiently at reception. Our room was clean and today, just a whiff of staleness about it upon entering. Bed was comfy, shower and towels good. Rather warm, but not overly so. Breakfast was the usual range of hot and cold buffet goods, but done to a high standard. We noticed that rooms were being sold that night for up to four times what we paid, but we booked a few months ago.



I had a very polarised experience of the Ibis hotel at Birmingham Airport. The check-in staff were friendly and the rooms were well furnished, freshly decorated and immaculately cleaned, so I have no complaints about the hotel as such. Unfortunately, on the first of my three nights in the hotel, I waited an hour in the (very quiet) hotel restaurant for a curry, then eventually chased up its whereabouts with the staff. Ten minutes later, a blatantly microwaved curry was presented to me, complete with floppy naan bread. Not only did the food not meet my expectations, but my order had clearly been forgotten; it does not take 70 minutes to microwave a curry! Unfortunately there are few dining alternatives around Birmingham Airport unless you like fast food, so two nights later, I ordered a pizza at the same hotel restaurant. This time, I waited for over an hour and a half (my colleague was served in about 15 minutes) before chasing up its whereabouts with the staff, twice. Eventually, the decidedly lackluster pizza arrived. I was offered no compensation whatsoever for my dismal dining experiences. This is a great shame since the hotel itself is excellent, but their restaurant is a complete embarrassment to the company and seriously needs to up its game.



Nice clean comfortable rooms with an excellent breakfast. Room pricing strategy can be very variable and at times more expensive than the Holiday Inn. However good value for money when available at circa £50/night.


Despite booking the twin room months in advance for the night of 24th February and asking for a walk in shower, preferably on the ground floor our room was on the 7th floor with a high step into the bathroom and another into the shower. The room was cramped and we had a job to store our suitcases in a place we didn’t need to step over them we asked to change rooms but unfortunately this was not possible. Such a disappointment after the service we had on the 16th February. On the plus side the beds were comfortable and we slept well and it was quiet.



Very conveniently situated for airport. Good use of technology around booking check in / out. Staff v friendly Room comfortable and clean good shower and much more character than some in this space. Very pleased with stay would always use when airport stay required.



We only stayed here for one night prior to flying out the next morning. The location is amazing for the airport - a 5 minute walk. Check-in was quick and friendly - the rooms very modern, with comfy beds - a little on the small side but for one night it didn't really matter. We didn't eat in the restaurant as it was so busy and instead walked to the airport but there were plenty of choices for food including room service. A good value option if you are flying out of Birmingham the next day.

Like many respondents I was not taken by the informal reception area. Overall, the hotel is convenient and within walking distance the airport terminal. The rooms are comfortable, although bearing in mind most users would be going on holiday a little bit more space for luggage would be useful. The modular shower room was adequate. Wi-fi signal was strong. The restaurant menu was varied and reasonable value.



A very good, cheerful and competitively priced hotel at the airport with very convenient parking, which helped take the sting out of a very early morning start. Very adequate facilities in the hotel, with a decent restaurant for an evening meal, and breakfast available from an amazingly early hour if we had wanted it. Check-in and -out very quick.



Great overnight airport hotel stay, food good & the room was clean & comfortable . Just across road from the airport and only 5 minutes from the railway station .will definitely use this hotel again xx



Room was satisfactory but the evening meal was of poor quality and service was incredibly slow. Breakfast was mediocre. I will not be eating in this particular hotel again unless there is a major change in attitude by the management.



Nice, clean hotel that is opposite the airport. Good value meals and a selection of drinks. Very odd that they have got rid of the reception area; you know just loiter until someone comes to help you check in. Very confusing.

Good quality value for money would definitely stay again if at Birmingham early check-in was a bonus staff very friendly and helpful breakfast was very good this hotel is all round good value for money

Arrival was after 11pm and no check-in staff were available. it seemed both staff were too keen to deal with preparations for the following days breakfast. After check-in and returning to the bar for a drink the staff were still sadly lacking. The new "deskless2 check-in is a bit of a joke



Arrived late and left quite early, was slightly confused by the very informal check in but staff were helpful enough. Room basic but OK Breakfast quite good and well prepared. very close to airport and train station so a good option



Clean and friendly hotel, right in the middle of Birmingham Airport, nearto the NEC As we were travelling with 2 dogs we had room service and we really enjoyed our burger and linguine dinner. Only problem was parking which is in a NCP carpark, we did not find it well signposted and we made the mistake of going under the wrong barrier and got charged £2 for driving around a roundabout!



Two-day stopover because of snow at airport. Staff levels minimal but coped fairly well with inevitable chaos. Main frustration is key-card failure - I had to return to the reception desk four times during my stay to get it re-authorised to get into my room. Staff - "it happens all the time".

Good reception staff. Howevee, sadly neither of us had more than one and a half hours sleep. The duvet was too heavy so we were very hot (unable to open window or access A/C, very firm bed & v hard pillows. To add insult to injury, our wake up call was made to us 1/4 hour earlier than requested, thus reducing our sleep even more!! good bathroom facilities with good hot water supply. good location.

Enjoyed everything about our stay, great room bar and restaurant. Many thanks to your staff. We will be back next year. This was like an extra days holiday, woke up after a good nights sleep ready for our long flight.
