I know this has budget in its name -however, our stay was very poor. The hotel is located well for access to the cruise terminal and the city centre. The room was clean and tidy -no problem there. The bed was uncomfortable and the room temperature too warm at night time but was unable to regulate with the controls. There were large groups of ‘youngish’ people staying in the hotel and on our second night, they were shouting down the corridor around midnight. This continued and even woke us up at 4:30 pm as they shouted down the corridor. When we went to check out there was no one around to ask us how our stay was so I was unable to give any feedback. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless all other hotels are taken or completely out of your budget.

The staff were all great the room was eerie and fresh the hotel staff were fantastic the housekeeping excellence in particular Martha was a credit to your company I have already booked for next year before my cruise

Never again.great trade in McDonalds fourth floor too noisy no sleep up since 6am the morning before.10pm till 4am queuing outside fastfood.plenty fighting singing shouting.ibis across and novelt hotel also in same area.

If you want a peaceful nights sleep, I advice you pay the extra and sleep at the Ibis across the road. At least there you might get a cup to use along with the breakfast you paid £5.95 for. The noise from the street is horrendous. 2 plugs in the whole room and none near a mirror. Horrid smell from the drain when I used the water or flushed the loo. Room slept 3, was barely big enough for one 5'2" person. Only decent thing was the wifi. Good luck!

Simple online booking of room, warm friendly welcome by all, straight forward check in, sufficiently equipped and very clean room and quick check out. Very helpful staff. Good value and could not fault.

Great staff! Really helpful and professional. Lovely coffee. Super shower, and lots of lovely unbleached linen. Very convenient location but a bit noisy, rows in the car park and dock noise. Overall a satisfactory stay.

The hotel is ideally placed for shopping, bars and was as expected for a budget hotel. very clean and a comfortable bed. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay at this location again.

For a 1 night stay, it was adequate. There are some really negative reviews, but perhaps their expectations was not in line. You cannot compare a luxury car with a budget car for instance.. What I liked: Room was decent sized, bed was comfy, power shower was amazing, sink was in the room (concept was different), LED dim lights. Simple/Basic but very functional. I was facing the parking lot and not on the ground floor (requsted this), and it was very quiet. Guido from reception was very quick to respond to emails I had prior to the trip. What they could have improved: Breakfast was basic, but it's not bad, toilet a bit clausterphobic, and I'm sure 'bigger' people will find this an issue, why only a bar or soap? We also need to wash our hair! Aircon was a bit underpowered, but it was fine really. Not intuitive AC controls. Other: Heard another guest complain about the £7 parking, but I've seen this mentioned several times up to my arrival at the hotel, do they not read? Besides, on budget airlines, you pay for the check in lugguage, how is this different? Do you complain about this? Anyhow, as long as your expectations are in line with what a budget hotel is, then you should have a decent stay (oh, and if you want quiet, request a room facing the car park and not the 24h McDonalds!)

you get what you pay for, I thought, the room was comfortable, the bed was very nice however i was very surprized to find there was no kettle, tea or coffee in the room, there was free tea and coffee in the small rest / breakfast area at reception which was not convenient if you were on the 4th floor. I also strongly object to paying £7 per night for parking when I was charged £557. for a weeks stay, the following week I booked into the Ibis Hotel 100 yards away and was charged £461 for a week, why the big difference when the first hotel was the budget hotel. it is safe to say I am not happy with Ibis Hotels at all. The staff are great. It's a budget hotel, but its modern, bright and clean. Really close to the West Quay centre for shopping and also for the cruise ship terminal if you are wanting an overnight prior or post cruise.

really great four day stay, staff were always very friendly. The Hotel is ideally situated only five minutes from Southampton central railway station and ten minutes to the town centre high street and shops, pubs restaurants. Ray and Carrie, Edinburgh

I had checked in online for quickness but on arrival there was a queue outside of the hotel doors and 2 receptions who didn't have a clue what they were doing it took 20 minutes to get checked in it was awful. The room was very basic and the room was well over priced for what you received. Overall stay was below average for me

This hotel is extremely basic, the rooms are small. For your money you get a hard bed small TV on the wall, 2 small bath towels, small bar of soap and two plastic cups. Both my husband and I spent most of the night scratching. If you wanted tea or coffee it was in the reception area. We pre paid for breakfast but it's not worth it, go to McDonalds next door. They charge 7 pounds to park your car. Would never stay there again, Premmier inn is much cleaner and the breakfast is well worth the money.

Reception good, room basic, clean and was fine for our 1 night stay, never took breakfast but tea was free, position great for the main shopping area of Southampton and if you are taking a cruising holiday. Would stay there again but no more than 2 nights.

This budget Ibis is very central to ever where. Just across the road from Central Station. Round the corner from National Express. Over the car park to West Quay, a 5 minutes taxi ride to the Docks. It's clean, cheap and cheerful. Staff helpful. Breakfast if you want it. Excellent value

If you are looking for a cheap tacky hotel this is the place for you. We stayed as a family and were kept awake all night. There was a used condom on the flat roof outside our window. The furnishings are basic very basic. The breakfast was a cheap continental, toaster only doing one side of the bread, orange juice machine not working. I complained and they are taking it seriously, so I'm assured????

Came down for a music gig at the Engine Rooms. Budget Hotel ideally situated with plenty of parking. Room was sparse but clean and that's all we needed. McDonalds & KFC right behind if you need fast food or a Wetherspoons about 1 mile walk down the road. My only complaint would be the foghorn from the IOW ferry at 07:00 am which kick started the day's hangover....

We stayed at this hotel for one night and it really was very basic. The rooms were tiny and not very clean we had mould in the corner of our room. We had a room for 3 people and could hardly move in it. They didn't provide enough bath towels as well.

This hotel is perfect if you don't want to spend a lot of money and only need the basics, I usually stay in these hotels for 1 or 2 nights because I only need the room to take a shower and sleep. The location is near the main road and there is plenty of space to park your car (extra cost of 7 GBP per day), the city center is at walking distance and there are some easy restaurants next to the building.

This hotel is not as good as it used to be . Bedrooms in need of some attention and attracting the wrong sort of person on a Saturday night when it was very noisy and the aftermath on Sunday morning was very unpleasant- detritus in the hallways and sick on the stairs!!!
