best value I've found, comfortable room and bed, excellent shower. Breakfast a must for the cost, nice little eating area so you will probably have to share a table which is no problem. Cost of overnight parking quite steep, but the whole package excellent value

Avoid, if you treasure your sleep. Chips on floor in our room. had to pay £7 to park. Was kept awake all night by drunks in the corridors playing game, shouting. The shower was nice, no tea or coffee or privacy in the room. We have paid for cheaper rooms with other companies and they have been outstanding

Very good location for shopping, visiting the museum and taking in a show at the Mayflower Theatre. Great value for money and although one can buy refreshments the Ibis opposite offers a good lounge to relax in too.

it was not explained that there were 2 ibis hotels. ibis and ibis budget . unfortunately mine was ibis budget and not a great experience as it is just a room with a bathroom and a bed with clean sheets. no telephone, no tea or coffee facilities VERY BASIC

The hotel room was nice quite small but still plenty of value for money considering the small price we paid for the room. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Overall a positive experience.

I received a nice welcome from reception staff but the lift wasn't working, the room was freezing cold at midnight when you realise that a/ there are no extra blankets and b/ learning how to use the fan heater/cooler in the middle of the night is far too steep a learning curve with no clear instructions the heater did not do what I wanted it to ie heat the room up it was obviously programmed not to be left on a high temperature so just kept cutting out. My room was also overlooking the McDonalds drive through counter next door which was noisy. 2 power sockets in the room was inadequate. A plastic stool to work on was also not good enough. No in-room tea/coffee/iron facilities was also not good enough. The bed sheets were not 100% clean, black specs and a few hairs found. No shower gel just 2 tiny hard soaps. On the plus side the shower was very powerful, and it was cheap.

Staff were brilliant, the room was big and the bathroom too, Everything spotless. Good parking, but the room was cold and the bed was so uncomfortable - hard and the mattress thin. Was in agony overnight and it was a long time before the pain wore off the next day. Floor mats would have helped the general coldness of the room.

We have stayed in Ibis Budget many times before as it is nice to be certain we are in Southampton ready to join our ship & this hotel is situated convenient for our cruise terminal. The hotel is always very clean & the staff are friendly & welcoming when we usually arrive after 11pm. The beds are fairly firm & you only get supplied with one pillow but towels & soap are supplied. We were disappointed this time as our room was on a corner & we had a lot of noise from people outside the hotel.

I stayed for 2 nights. The first night was a night mare I was put on a floor with lots of teens who disturbed the whole of floor 3. I requested to change room but your receptionist did nothing and kept me waiting for 10 minutes before even acknowledging me. Worst night experience of my life I honestly feared for my safety as an 18 year old girl on her own, your staff did nothing to make my stay pleasant when I complained, instead made me feel uncomfortable. The second night was also unpleasant, a man was given the same room as me and tried to get into my room late at night. I honestly feel you need to look over your hotel, and have a better watch out. It’s dangerous to put so many drunk out of their head people next to a girl who staying on her own. Very disappointed. Therefore I will not be choosing to stay with you again.

On check-in I was given a key to an already occupied room, when I challenged the reception staff, the lady didn't seem at all bothered and simply gave me another room. The rooms were very cold 8°C with the air-conditioning on maximum after 2 hours the temperature reached 11°C, not impressed! When I asked reception about the cold rooms, I was offered a fan heater, it helped but was very noisy and we needed to keep it on all night. Both room keys needed reprogramming after a few hours as they would not open the doors! Won't be going back.

We chose to stay at Ibis Budget as we had to catch an early morning coach. The location of the hotel is only 5minute walk to coach station, and as both my husband and I have mobility problems it is ideal.

This is a budget hotel, and therefore expectations need to be based on that and the very reasonable price paid for a nights stay. The room was very clean, it was warm (air conditioned) and the bed was comfy. Staff were friendly and check in was easy. I wouldn’t have wanted to spend time relaxing in my room, but for somewhere to sleep well it was great.

Very cold room could only get 15 c max total lack of heating. A few small curly type hairs on the bedding muck and dust fell from the ceiling vent in the toilet cubical onto the toilet seat could not sleep due to being very cold

There was considerable noise through the night from the McDonald's drive-through immediately next door. This consisted of people shouting and yelling especially in the early hours. There was no sign of McDoonald's staff attempting to keep t the noise down.

tried to email for December booking an was ignored. Smell from sink when water was run. heating was poor. Wi-Fi was pretty goood bed, 1st visit was poor with a dip. 2nd visit much better but nothing great

We have been visiting this hotel for the past 3 years, however this year the standards have dropped, the room we were 1st in, the drains smelt and were asked to move, then the room we were in had no heating and were given a small heater, and we were still cold! The room could have done with a good clean and bedsheets needed cleaning along with the toilet, I know it’s a budget hotel, but we feel this hotel is losing its appeal

Check in staff were so rude. They couldn’t find my booking under my name - could have been because when I spelled my name he was chatting to his colleague. I then had to rummage about for booking confirmation, while he tutted. This wasn’t good enough because, their booking confirmation, didn’t have a confirmation number on it. Told in a threatening tone, that if I couldn’t provide a confirmation number I wouldn’t have a room as they were fully booked! Passed to another member of staff and I had to search through emails on my phone to find an email. Eventually got checked in, while 2 staff members muttered to each other. The heating in the hotel was broken so it was freezing. We heard other guests complaint about numerous things. We over heard that the heating had broken the day before but housekeeping went home at 3 o’clock so it couldn’t be fixed? Surely they should have got maintenance in not housekeeping to fix heating. We weren’t offered breakfast.

Room was fine. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was poor this time and coffee machine was out of order. Only person having breakfast. Overall good value apart from breakfast which is not worth paying extra for until coffee machine is fixed

Perfect accommodation, clean, simple, great location for everything we needed. Comfortably slept 3 adults across 2 rooms. Shower was great and both beds comfortable. A very clever use of space with hanging rail and everything.

we stay here in Southampton before setting off on our cruise holiday every year, its close to the terminals and shopping trips for last minute items in town is easily accessible by walking. Also close to cinema and restaurants for an evening out, or relaxing enough to just chill.
