Stayed here with husband over New Year. 2nd stay here and we find it very convenient. You can use the tram or walk to get into central Bordeaux and there are also nearby cafes including a good boulangerie which serves tea/coffee etc just across the road.

A little expensive when you include eating and drinking in hotel. The weather was so bad when we arrived we had little alternative but to eat in the hotel. Well equipped and very good staff. Breakfast was excellent. Wish we had more time to explore Bordeaux , will stay here again in the future but eat out next time.

I enjoyed a very relaxing weekend break in this uncomplicated but perfectly adequate hotel. The room and services met all of my needs and expectations in full, in particular the bed was very comfortable - I slept like a log! The hotel is perfectly positioned in a quiet location with lively bars and cafes close by, just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Bordeaux over the beautiful Pont De Pierre. Trams, buses and ferry services are available within 400 metre for those with short legs. All in all, a very satisfactory stay and in my opinion extremely good value for money. This hotel will be my first choice for my next visit to Bordeaux.

Hotel is located across the Gironde River from the old part of the city, but it is very convenient - only one tram stop or a pleasant walk across the bridge. And there is a boulangerie next door to have breakfast. The rooms seem to have been fairly recently refurbished and are comfortable. And we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Underground parking at the hotel. Would recommend this Ibis for visiting Bordeaux.

Location on the right bank of the Garonne was excellent...convenient to Tram A...up and coming area of town; clean, attractive reception/dining area; rooms standard Ibis minimalism - Ibis has perfected the bathroom; beds comfortable. Reception staff was efficient and responsive but some staff lacked a warmth and friendliness. Better monitoring of breakfast buffet offerings is needed. Definitely recommend.

Due to flight delays, arrived late on Friday night. Incorrect room keys issued to my travelling companion. Arriving back on Saturday night, to be informed the bar was shut at 23.05, having been served at 02.30 the night before! Breakfast excellent & very helpful FOH staff, other than above.

Easy to find, easy to park at, quiet (at least when we stayed there.) The room was functional, standard, no frills, obviously no character, of a reasonable size, though one couldn't swing many cats in it. There was a cabin style bathroom of reasonable proportions. There were not enough towels so we helped ourselves to a couple more from a trolley in the stair well. The bed was a queen-size, with good, firm bedding. We slept very well. No noise in the corridors. There was only one chair in the room; an extra one would have been welcome. Breakfast was fairly good, varied, and cheaper than other places. Our stay for two nights amounted to 155 euros, with breakfast. This rate was with the (free) Accor hotels card, which also means breakfast is cheaper. It's a no-brainer, as it is free and gives a reduction. Very good staff at reception, friendly, competent and unobtrusive. The hotel is very well situated just across the Pont de Pierre from Bordeaux city centre. It takes under ten minutes to walk across from the hotel. We walked everywhere, as Bordeaux is not that big a city, but without doubt one of France's most beautiful and well worth a stay. A pity it was freezing.

Bastide is a great neighbourhood, but it is exactly that, not downtown. If you don't mind a walk in this great city - do yourself a treat and stay here! Full marks on all fronts, but don't expect an architectural landmark.

This was short business trip, just an overnight in this hotel due convenient location for my needs. Rooms OK, as hotel in quiet neighborhood sleep quality fine. Breakfast is not worth to be taken, too basic, but no near shops to avoid it

Very helpful staff , room very clean and comfortable. T.V. channels limited to B.B.C. news programme which was extremely poor reception. City of Bordeaux well worth the visit. City tram system excellent for getting around hotel provided free tram tickets for our stay.

Our room and bathroom were quite small but adequate for a long weekend. The room was a bit smelly/stuffy but when we mentioned it to the reception, they promptly put some spray that improved things a bit. The location is convenient although not in the city center.Overall we were happy with our choice because we booked last minute and we got a decent price compared to other options.

We stayed a couple of nights in this hotel as we explored Bordeaux. Our room was on the front of the hotel and whilst we might have expected some noise, we found it very quiet and comfortable. We took the tram (a short walk from the hotel) to the centre on the first day but walked across the bridge on the second (about 15 minutes at a reasonable pace). When we arrived, we missed the entrance to the car park the first time around (there is a sign for the Ibis on the wall by the Carrefour Express but we didn't think it very obvious). We found all the staff were very pleasant and helpful during our stay and there was plenty on offer for the buffet breakfast. The location was perfect for us - quiet but not too far from the centre of town which made for a great visit to Bordeaux.

Good position with parking. Restaurants close by. A carrefour on site and an inexpensive breakfast bar above the car park. Staff were friendly .Easy to find. Just across the river from the main town. Parking a little pricey and may not be totally secure but have been there often with no problems.

Very clean Hotel ideally situated to the town centre (15 minute walk). Staff very friendly and helpful at all times. Keenly priced for a large city. Rooms very quiet for a good nights sleep, clean and comfortable.

This is a very new Ibis. You'll find really nice design in the lobby/bar/breakfast area and, as ever, very good use of the space in your room which isn't huge but has everything you need. Ibis are making a feature of their new beds and rightly so-the bed comes with a base (divan?), mattress and a 'topper' (another futon type mattress like you find in Ikea!). The result is the best night's sleep I've had in a hotel in many a year. Nice welcome from a lovely lady on reception. Good location (nb it's 300m walk to the bridge and the tram which will take you quickly into the centre. The bridge is almost 500m long so a walk to 'town' is good exercise and you get the view as a bonus!) As other reviewers have said there's a Carrefour next door for essentials, cold drinks, snacks and, bless them, chilled champagne. The new botanical gardens are a short walk up the road and a nice spot to enjoy an impromptu pic-nic. Niggles?- well, they're very quick to clear up breakfast, even on a Sunday, so don't count on a leisurely start but hey, that's nit picking. This is a lovely, spotlessly clean, modern hotel with nice staff at a price that won't break the bank, and it's only a few minutes away from the best of what Bordeaux has to offer.

Ibis certainly can take credit for having your sleep quality near or at the top of their list. The beds were fantastic, the best we had slept in and still the best. We had stayed at a previous Ibis in Saint Malo and had similar beds. The difference comes down to the pillows. Our previous room had the right combination with softer pillows. This was really the only down side to this room, the room was a good size, very good shower and good sound proofing. The location was good too with a supermarket next door and really only a short ride on the tram or walk across the bridge to the city centre. Grab the all day pass for moving around, it is really good value.

Beautiful location short walk to a bar/restaurant on the corner, walking distance to the main centre and also very closed to the tram, lots to see and do lovely hotel and hotel staff very plesant would definitely return

standard service for ibis hotel. Hotel location relatively far from the city center, but fairly easy. I usually live mercure. But the last time I staied in ibis Amsterdam and encountered racial discrimination. This time in Bordeaux the staff was normal.

We always stay here when we stay in Bordeaux (4 or 5 times a year). You always know what you will get. Clean, polite, comfy and good value, not to mention great location. Parking is easy and reasonably priced

Terrible receptionist that was challenging to overcharge us since we disagree with the amount paid (politely) from what we have from our booking voucher vs. her invoice. All she answered was "NO" "NO" "NO" when we were trying to explain to her our booking voucher (politely & calmly) as if to say i don't care what you have on your voucher, my computer say this hence I'm charging you this amount. She did not care to listen & threaten to charge us either way without trying to understand. When we said that if she was so un-reasonable to say NO then we are not paying, then threatened to charge us anyway whether we liked it or not. The behaviour was so absurd and beyond comprehension that we asked her to why not charge whatever amount she want on there, then she realised what she said was not funny any more and now carry a big consequences. Finally we had to rush to the airport we gave up arguing with her and ask her to charge what she thought was correct and we will dispute with IBIS, Accor and make a big complaint against her, She then said she will check with her manager and come back to us. Then it was half an hour of arguing and defending ourselves for her unwilling to look at & understand why the different between Our booking voucher & her receipt. Eventually an hour later she checked with her manager and we were able to charge the correct amount that was based on our booking voucher but the experience was so horrible and distasteful that is left in us. Overall it was the worst experience we have endured on our 7 different hotel stay in IBIS (Style, Budget, Novotel) from 18-25Nov13. Horrible attitude, rude towards customer, uneducated,un-civilised, threatening & aggressive behaviour: name: Aurélie / date of experience: 23nov13 / IBIS BORDEUX I hope someone will rectify the issue and come back to me with a respond, I'm sure this is not the IBIS experience you are trying to portray nor it's on your promise card (15min to solve any problem otherwise you will have the room FOC) Best, IBIS repeated customer
