Bear in mind that this is a budget hotel, so you will not get more than you pay for. Thanks to the receptionist for allowing me to check in and pick up my room key at midday, as soon as I arrived in Cardiff. My room on the 4th floor was quiet and very clean, had a reasonable view from the window and (apart from shampoo) supplied all my essential needs. Although it was well laid out, two people would have found the room too small and the narrowness of the toilet might have given a larger person claustrophobia. No extra blankets or pillows were available, and no kettle, so, in order to get a hot drink, although I had bought teabags and coffee in my luggage, I'd have had to take the lift down to the lobby to help myself to the complimentary tea or coffee provided there. I didn't bother, especially as only one lift was working during the four days of my stay. I was glad to discover that I could open the window for fresh air and that the mattress was very comfortable. The shower took a very long time to produce hot water in the mornings; I think the plumbing system may need tweaking. My only real complaint is that the digital clock display on the wall mounted TV screen was so bright and blue that on my first night it kept me awake for several hours in the middle of the night. I didn't solve this problem until I had covered the clock with a piece of card which I stuck to the screen. If you are planning to stay at this hotel I recommend you pack a roll of sellotape and do the same.
