This hotel was similar to a UK Travelodge. Quite a good location ,twenty minutes walk to the Guggenheim and the same time to walk to the bus station to get a coach to the wonderful town of San Sabastian. However, it might be better to stay in the old town. Rooms a liitle bare, but cleaned daily with comfortable beds and good bathrooms.Buffet breakfast ok, but what made this hotel were the staff.Really friendly and very helpful and the reason I gave this hotel a good score.
I have stayed at other Ibis hotels before and there is consistency in the service which ever brand you take. This is their mid-range hotel but could not compare with Motel One being in the same price range. Service is good and check-in fast. The breakfast is reasonably priced and could be better is there is variety every day. For people with mobility issues this hotel is not walkable to most sights. The subway is quite a distance and for short trips you simply cannot master the public transportation. That said, for any fit person its a good walk.
It would not matter if you walked in off the street. For club members it used to be free wifi (now free for eveyone). And the drink voucher. Very weird. It said special offer ViP for platinum members but wine and alcoholic drinks were EXCLUDED! After all a glass of house wine in Spain costs AUD 1.50. No mention of meal discounts, usually 10% in Europe for members, no upgrades, you have to pay for early or late checkouts.
Prefer to have diners outside the hotel because it is only in case of absolute need. The kitchen is too small to offer a proper meal comparable to restaurants. However Breakfasts can be taken in the hotel
I have stayed at several IBIS property and this one is the least impressive. From the front desk staff to the accommodations, the hotel is just OK. Breakfast is a small dining room off the lobby. No-one even checks your room # so anyone off the street can eat there for free. The food was not fresh, so I had breakfast only once. The rooms are small with a strange thin mattress for a bed. The pillows were fluffy and nice. For 70-80 Euros, you can do much better in beautiful Bilbao
Small average IBIS room. Facing the courtyard, so it was rather silent. Way too little number of sockets for personell devices in the room. The room was quite warm. The A/C did not cool the room properly, even the outside temperature was only 27C.
The hotel was easy to find and the parking much easier and cheaper than the public car park. The room was spacious, clean and well maintained. The location was great for getting around, about a 15 minute walk from the Guggenheim. The breakfast was lovely, fresh and plentiful and the staff extremely helpful
The right place to be. Perfect location in the map of Bilbao.. Nice staff and very helpful people always eager to help you.. Superb idea to spend a weekend with friends. Highly recommended place to stay.
The position of the hotel in the centre of the town is convenient for walking to local attractions and the bus and train stations to see the surrounding area. The rooms are basic but clean and contain everything required for a comfortable stay. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
We spent 2 nights in central Bilbao and could not have found anywhere better located with underground parking and a great breakfast for the price. Very clean and comfortable - highly recommended. John and Dorie Webster.
we were very well looked after very comfortable bed lovely room very enjoyable breakfast good selection great coffee very important to me dinner was good value and enjoyable only problem was bad smell in bathroom
Stayed here for 2 nights. The room and bathroom was typical IBIS with a comfortable bed for sleeping. Checkin and departure were efficient with friendly staff. It would be nice if there was a fridge in the room particularly for the hot weather. As Accor member we received complimentary drink from the bar. The young lady who served us was friendly and welcoming but in a rather rude attitude from a man serving in the bar also she was over ruled in the drinks that she was going to serve us. I think he may have been the boss. He needs to improve his skills in dealing with staff and guests.
We stay regularly at Ibis hotels and usually speak highly of the however we were badly let down on this occasion, the lavatory has faeces on the toilet seat ( which I cleaned off before my wife observed them) there were also faeces traces around the toilet rim and under the seat. We complained and moved our room but the damage was done, poor quality cleaning is not acceptable.
Ibis Bilbao Centro is very well located walking distance to the Guggenheim Museum and very close to the train station. Its staff is always very efficient and friendly. It seems to be a new hotel and the rooms are clean and large. There are several restaurants and stores near the hotel. The historical center is 15 minutes walking distance from the hotel. I would come back to the same hotel whan I visit Bilbao again.
In a good position in Bilbao, within walking distance of the Guggenheim and the Old town, plus the main shopping street. A modernised Ibis property, with the usual facilities. Underground parking available . A good choice for value in Bilbao
Our first visit to Bilbao and Ibis was well located, economically priced, and provided great service for our four night stay in May 2017. Ibis made is easy for us to print our airline boarding passes when we needed them, too. Very friendly service all the way around. We stayed in room 516 which had a window to an inner courtyard and was quiet except for the building's fan noise.
We were greeted and looked after very well . As my friend and I were about to start our Camino tge next day we were shown were we had to take our train & giving a great hospitality. We slept well & The breakfast was a dream !! thank you
good hotel, good location ,friendly staff. The Ibis Centro is a good value option for those visiting Bilbao. You can walk to/from San Mames from here.Handily placed for visiting the rest of the City as well.
Hotel was in the center of the city close to train station. Room was clean and the stuffs are quite hospital. Rate was good. During my stay I had no any problem anyway. Place was calm and good for to have rest.
A gem of a hotel. Minutes walking to museums, the river, the old city and more. The rooms and ensuite bathrooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant and bar are decent. The breakfast buffet could use some variety such as hard boiled but was excellent.
