I have stayed at the Ibis Budget Salford Quays several times now and found it an ideal work base. Don't expect luxury, this really is half way between a hotel and a hostel, with a bank of microwaves where you can heat your own dinner rather than a restaurant. Having said that, the rooms are cleverly designed, neatly including everything you will need - I love the dinky shower pod, and the little desk. There's a flat screen TV with basic channels and a good power point, plus you can select from different lighting states. Very few gripes really, but the key cards sometimes don't work and I've ended up making several trips back to reception. The staff are really friendly and welcoming but only once has someone actually come up to the room to make sure the new card did actually work. I could do with a bit more light over the desk. There is no kettle or hairdryer but you can get free hot water downstairs and they will lend you a hairdryer if you want one. I could do with an extra blanket as the bed covering is a bit skimpy but haven't actually got round to asking. All in all, just very good value.

The hotel is extremely good value. The rooms are clean, everything works and the staff are friendly. I have stayed on about 4 occasions and have been impressed every time. The location is good, being very near the Salford Quays tram stop.

This was my 2nd stay at the Ibis budget Manchester Salford Quays Hotel and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. As a person who likes to keep fit, there is a gym 2-3 minutes walk from the hotel wihch I used on both occassions I stayed at this hotel and will continue to use on future stays. Also, the breakfast that is available consists of cereals (museli, Corn flakes, fruit & fibre) and others. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The services here are excellent including wi-fi and also internet access within the hotel. There is also a 24-hour snack store in the hotel which is brilliant. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to any of friends or family who wish to have a budget weekend in the area.

As the name suggests, this is a 'budget' hotel. However for the price you pay, it is perfectly adequate for a short stay (as I was doing). The rooms are big enough, shower good, bed comfortable. NB there is no kettle or tea and coffee in the room (hey, its budget!), and the food available is limited (continental breakfast at extra cost, or pizzas, sandwiches etc.). However there are various places to eat from Subway next door, to a range of outlets on Salford Quays across the road, or at the Salford Outlet Mall a tram stop away. Or of course Manchester city centre is only 10 mins on the tram. I think two of the nights i booked, quite close to the date, were £69 each, and i needeed an extra night (a Monday) it was £39. What stood out was how friendly and helpful the staff were.

So if you want somewhere close to Old Trafford then this is your hotel to stay in, i will warn you of the following check your door actually locks when you leave your room ours didn’t if you left it close by itself you had to shut the door had to be slammed shut. Cleaners left our room opened one day I was quite angry hotel wasn’t awfully helpful, they will not change your bedding if you are staying for multiple nights i stayed for 3 nights was no clean sheets at all. The fire alarm went off middle of night no sign of any staff to explain what was happening was just a total mess So if you want a hotel in good location if your going to a match this is close otherwise I would avoid it

Last minute booking before an early flight from Manchester. Staff efficient and friendly. Car parking £7 and is shared with the adjoining hotel - you may struggle to find a space at the weekend. Hotel opposite restaurants and bars and near metro station.

Nice hotel near to Old Trafford. Very friendly staff and very good continental breakfast. However, there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, no hair dryer and no shower gels - just a very small bar of soap so traveller be prepared. The absence of theses basics would NOT stop me using an IBIS Budget hotel in the future and if I had checked the small print when booking these facts were probably made clear. Having made the comments above the room was £47.50 for B&B so great value for money for such a well positioned budget hotel.

It was budget so wasn't expecting luxury, it did all it needed to do for our stay. Staff very friendly. Location fantastic, tram 5 minute walk so access was excellent to everywhere. Hungry horse pub across road for great food

Clean and very comfortable rooms. Helpful staff. Tea and Coffee making equipment would be beneficial. Would highly recommend. Bars and restaurants just across from main entrance. Parking was always full. Disable bays were used by anyone,(only downside really)

The room was very basic but nice and clean. It had the smallest toilet I have ever seen - No wardrobe but a rack with coat hangers did the trick - The bed was very uncomfortable with a very thin mattress - You also have to pay £7 per night for parking (don't forget to log your car in when you arrive or it will cost (I think) £100 - To be fair the young manager waived our parking fee as we have a disability badge. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and are available 24/7 - and there are food and snacks also available 24/7 - but they are a bit pricey - These comments have to be balanced against the price we paid £49 pretty good for the location and the fact we are "oldies" and like a fair bit of comfort - however for youngsters on a night out it will be fine

Very clean, comfortable and friendly staff. Close to tram stop with easy access to city centre. Also close to Old Trafford for any footie fans. Only downside was lack of parking but if a parking space became available then a further £7 per night was charged.

Good Budget Option Close to the City Centre. Decent Continental Breakfast available for the price. My only complaint was with check out not being until 12 (was glad of this due to a hangover) the cleaner disturbed me twice to ask in very broken English if I was checking out today. This was at 10am and 11:15am

Overall pretty good stay. Clean Room and ideal location for my needs. Room beside the lifts so each time doors opened or closed I could hear them. Outside was a little untidy with empty bottles and food packaging laying on the ground, could be kept a little better.

A nice clean room, no complimentary toiletries but OK.Shower and sink in bedroom but as expected. parking costs £7- reasonable! Maybe not for more than one or two nights as no wardrobe, But OK for the very reasonable price. And near the Quays.

This was our second visit. The room was functional, basic but had all we needed and was spotlessly clean. We knew it was a budget hotel. Breakfast next morning was ample, fresh and good value, However there were not enough mugs and glasses, and because there were lots of diners, coffee, juice and foods ran out faster than they could be replenished by the totally inadequate number of staff. The one server did her best and was courteous and fast working, but more staff were needed.

The hotel is nice with pleasant surroundings and good connections to city centre. You have all the basics with even some options for dining out in the vicinity. I would definitely recommend it if you are on a limited budget but still need more than just a bed.

No complaints really other than cleaning staff should clean the underside of a toilet lid. Reception very helpful, good distance to Old Trafford and restaurants. That said a very basic room. All in all I would return.

Funky foyer, young friendly staff. Room size fine but a little softening of the budget-spartan set up wouldn't go amiss. Also, I flew to Manchester and wasn't expecting the hassle of having to take shampoo, but there wasn't any! Easy access via Metrolink and good walking around the Quays

Please provide or at least sell shampoo and shower gel. Porter told me they have stopped selling it. It's an essential item in any hotel, no matter how 'budget'. Also, there was confusion over my length of stay. A maid who didn't speak English tried to kick me out of the room after the second day as I had made two separate bookings. Bad communication between staff.
