clean, central, cheap, good value breakfast if you want it. We only stayed one night to go to a concert Good value for money, easy booking in, Friendly staff. Could have done with 2 pillows but then I didn't ask if that was a possibility.

Far much better than other small hotels round. Good choice for short night stay. I went for s short business trip and have no regrets for chosen such hotel. Breakfast was good as well. Rooms are very clean. Do not expect any scene.

A very comfortable bed, a nice powerful shower, and overall, most satisfactory for the price. I was a little wary about another Ibis Budget place (had a not too pleasant experience at a different location a few years back), but absolutely no complaints this time. Will certainly stay again.

Lift - only one has pretty much ever worked all the times I've stayed - takes forever to get in and out, often have to wait for several lifts as full. Heat - winter, so only heats, but room boiling so window open is only option but road noise Noise - road and unusually corridor noise. Also smelt heavily of pot (again unusual)

This was a rushed trip and on a budget - all was good, although the door locks could be better -10 swipes before it lets you in gets a little annoying. As for location - the area looks worse than it is, and so arriving at night is a little concerning, but once you work out where you are, it is perfect.

It really is the hotel from hell! Checked in had to pay for parking! Mind you the hotel wasn't exactly cheap considering the hotel was disgusting inside. Paint peeling off the walls and had dirt marks all over them. The lift wasn't even working properly mind you only one out of the 2 was 'working'. Get inside the lift and all we heard was loud clanking sounds to even which the member of staff who came in with us also said 'ooh that doesn't sound healthy!' as it made a huge bang but didn't move for a while!. Corridors had this nasty stench, got to our room and saw there is no proper bathroom. The toilet door didn't close nor did the room window. So asked for another room which we got just next door. Better window and bathroom door but the walls were filthy, a big blob of sellotape on the ceiling and the smell of the sheets was so musty. The tap on the sink also had the temperature markings switched over. It's so noisy too there is no point trying to sleep early either. Waste of money and I paid way more than I should have for this disgrace of a hotel. The room looked like a childs room then I was told they all have the same deco anyway! Plus the bed was so hard. Ridiculous! I paid £75 for my room plus £7 for parking and I honestly feel like I need my money back. Wouldn't even pay £1 towards it! My advice.... Spend that however much elsewhere you'd be much happier and have a better night's sleep! Only good thing... The staff were very friendly

They cancelled our booking then put on 5th floor. No lifts the entire weekend. Hot and noisy room, noisy guests and fighting in the corridor, people smoking in rooms. £68 for two nights now £300???? WTF

Clean basic Ikea style room, perfect for one or two nights as a base to explore the city. Stayed in a family room with the bunk bed over a double. Check in was easy, Sat Nav users-Car park round the back of the hotel £7 but worth it for convenience.

I stayed here whilst attending some training in the city, budget was my main reason for booking this hotel. I am familiar with Ibis and it's general standards. The room was clean and functional. I was in a ground floor room overlooking the car park which could benefit from a net curtain at the window to afford some privacy instead of having to close the blind and losing daylight. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast is was an excellent continental type breakfast. Rob checked me in and out, he was excellent giving great customer service. I did feel that the mattresses were a bit thin and therefore slightly uncomfortable. It's just a 10 minute walk to The Arcadia and Hippodrome theatre. Few mins further to the bullring shopping centre.

Very good for what we needed. Close enough to city centre and walkable to edgbaston which is what our trip was for. The staff were really helpful and attentive. Hot water available downstairs so didn't really miss a kettle in the room.

All the staff I encountered were lovely, everything was immaculately clean, room was modern and completely silent at night which was something I had worried about, so I was really pleased. Nice hot shower. 24 hour pizza service was a great bonus, and the blackout blind ensured I got a good night's sleep. Would definitely come back, perfect place to stay for a couple of nights.

I have stayed here on numerous occasions when I have visited Birmingham. Literally minutes to city centre, Hippodrome & Alex Theatres, in the idle of China Town, the outdoor market. 10 minutes from Birmingham library & the Barclay card arena areas. Staff are always friendly & helpful, buffet breakfast a good choice of cereals, toast, etc..

As titled this is a budget hotel, it was clean and comfy and convenient for the town centre, only problem no tea or coffee making facilities, rooms small but otherwise its basic, but for the price paid it was adequate.

OK it's a budget hotel, the rooms are "compact" and it's not situated in exactly the best part of Birmingham but the beds are incredibly comfy, the staff are excellent and it's really handy for the city centre. It's become my default hotel when staying the Birmingham not so much on groungds of cost but because I actually like staying there.

Yes it was a small room but for the price paid was adequate and more than comfortable I would book again without hesitation I paid for the breakfast which was basic and continental e.g. cereal yoghurt cheese ham etc Was ok enough choice

flush was not working properly, customer services need to be improved. staff looked tired all the time during my stay, on my check out @6,30 am on 28th march when i asked for my copy of bill he told me to wait for 5/10 minutes and even then i did not get that, overall staff don't bother about the customers, there is lack of customer services that usually people provide in the hotels..... house keeping staff do not come back if you are busy at that time, they just want to drop towels & that's it..................

1. Room rates used to be fixed and reasonable. Now they change depending on demand, and very expensive at busy times for such a basic hotel. 2. The aircon controls in the rooms have been changed, so the temperature cannot be adjusted. The room was constantly cold. 3. My stay was for two nights. No-one visited the room on the middle day, no cleaning, no tidying up, nothing. Not acceptable. 4. Very friendly staff.

This hotel is at a bargain price. Less than 15 mins walk to Bullring or Main New Street Rail Station. 5 mins walk to gay village if that's your need. Rooms and public areas immaculately clean. On leaving I asked a member of staff if they had all been on a compulsory course on how to look after guests. The reply was no, that's just how we are. And indeed so, EVERY member of staff went out of their way to be friendly, polite and helpful. It certainly made me have a great long weekend break. I'll be back soon. Roger Jones

Great shower, great bed, great view and overall a great stay! Staff were accommodating and kind, and the hotel was close to the city centre (and less than a minute from the O2 Academy, which was amazing as I was attending an event there!). Fantastic transport links and not too close to the hustle and bustle of the city.

Jus that I got a room at ground floor. Everything is fine jus i will prefer upper floor. And the breakfast should offer more varieties. The receptionist are friendly and we were glad that we can requested to get a hair dryer.
