I chose this hotel based on 1) its proximity to the airport and 2) affordability. The gentleman on the desk, Jose, was very friendly on check in. When we entered our room (on the ground floor), we immediately noticed a strong smell of cigarettes. We returned to reception and Jose kindly moved us to another room (110, 1st floor). We did notice that evening, that the toilet was very slow to flush. It would take multiple attempts to flush just toilet paper. So the rule was, only pees no poops! When I showered that night, I notice within 2 minutes, that the shower base had filled completely with water and was on the verge of running out and onto the bathroom floor. It was a shame as the pressure and temperature were excellent, one of the best hotel showers I've had. It took approximately 10 minutes to drain after I had finished. I didn't report it at the time as I had changed into my pyjamas. These piping problems could explain the unpleasant smell on the floor. When I had first noticed it, I thought it was a baby's nappy. The smell did not go during our stay. On check out the following morning, I mentioned all the above to the morning Receptionist. He said, had I been unhappy with it, I should have reported it at the time. I explained that it had been late at night and I was getting ready for bed. I suggested they look into it as there is an obvious problem with drainage in that room. I also told him that I was disappointed by their website's "contact us" option. I had emailed to find out how much the secured parking would cost. It says on the website there is a fee but doesn't give the price. I received an automated response saying I would get an answer to my query within 48 hours. That was 4 days prior to my booking and I hadn't heard back. I STILL haven't heard back. The Receptionist waived the fee and gave me a code for the barrier. The price of parking by the way is €5. I have stayed in many Ibis Budget hotels and similar chains. The standard was slightly below average. To be honest, if I needed to stay close to the airport again, I would probably choose this hotel. Though I would request a non-smoking room and be a lot quicker to resolve any (tissue) issues.
