Very nice hotel and staff, and room was very nice. Only stayed for one night, so cannot make any real issue out of it any problems face. The only main problem I encountered was the key lock on my door was faulty or there was a particular knack to getting the swipe card to work, tried many recoded swipe cards from the lobby, and was sheer luck I got back into the room after the 3rd recoded card, after that I didn't dare leave the room in the evening in case I couldn't get back into my room again - it was late on a Sunday I doubt there would have been any engineer to fix it/force the door open. Minor issue as was only staying one night, had it been longer, could have been a more serious issue (business trip for example?). Only other issue - but probably unique to myself, and for other people could be perfectly fine, was I found the bed mattress way too hard for myself. One plus though and I don't think Ibis in Reading highlight it as well as they should, is that the bedrooms DON'T face the main road, so they are quite silent from road noise (at least in the evenings). Overall nice stay, friendly staff.. not quite sure on the lack of a organized check in desk (the hotel uses an informal greeting system), as can quite disorganized if multiple parties arrive at the same time. Also wifi broadband was surprisingly good, fast, even via a VPN (which is allowed, ports aren't blocked). WOULD STAY AGAIN, AND HAVE ALREADY RECOMMENDED TO MY CLIENT AS A PLACE TO STAY IN READING. Need to do something about the room keylocks though, or of course I could just have been unlucky on the day.
