Arrived late and left early so not much I can say but the room was fine. One of the lifts was out of order, which made for some delays (being on 9th floor). One general improvement with IBIS would be getting my printed receipt on check in, to save time the following morning (and email isn't always reliable)

Was a good room for the price..but a few extras (small snacks) would make it even better. A room with a view was requested, but my room was looking out onto the wall of another building...slightly disappointing

I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. Upon early check-in you asked for a deposit of Stg£120 which I gave you. I checked out last Monday around 10am but you have not released the deposit. The car hire company I used also asked for a deposit but it was released within 24 hours of returning the car. Why does it take so long ?

We arrived at 1215 after having done an online check in. We were told the rooms are not available until 1400 but we could pay £30 to check in now. I was annoyed but it’s within the terms. Being a silver member didn’t count. We returned a 1830. It seemed chaotic. We were checked in but not offered our freee drinks. We asked and they said we had to show our card again a departure from norm. Hotel neat tidy with pretty rooms, efficient . Reception seemed to be having good a busy day when we wanted to get our vouchers teceptionnwas busy checking in. We abandoned the idea and went out. Things to note we asked for above 6th floor and back if hote. We didn’t hear a thing. The hotels on the main high street with bsrs and restaurants. It’s 5 minutes walk from the station and bang in the centre.

We needed a hotel near a car park and station. Ibis met our needs perfectly and was clean warm comfortable and welcoming.Breakfast was quick and good quality. Only issue was that you cannot get a car to the hotel as it is on a bus only road

Arriving in Reading very late at night, this hotel was only a couple of minutes' walk from the station. Had already checked in online, so key was ready for me - very efficient. Had requested a quiet room on an upper floor away from the lifts and that is exactly what I got. Breakfast was excellent - very good range and good quality. Would have like fried egg, however only scrambled is available with the cooked breakfast. Hotel is expensive for midweek stays, but that is probably due to the number of people staying on business trips.

Our shower spray would not stay in the holder, so had to shower holding in one hand whilst trying to wash hair one handed, not ideal!! The new lady in reception was left alone, and coudl not take payments, she didn't know how to use the coffee machine and I got a cold coffee milkshake as she didn't heat the milk, my husband had to go around the bar toshow her what he wanted to drink as she didn't understand, I think someone else shoud lhave beenon reception during her training period!! We woudl stay again as we regulary stay in reading and overall this is a good value for money hotel, just on this occasion it was let down by a few things.

Excellent location in Reading City Centre. Quick check-in and check-out. Refurbished rooms, very comfortable beds and good amenities. Excellent breakfast. Bar 24/7 very welcome for late arrivals. Friendly and helpful staff

Cannot believe that the hotel has only have one working lift and it had been like that now for 3 weeks - very long waits to go up to your room and when you leave your room - should be compensating customers for inconvenience caused. Staff serving Breakfast in Restaurant are friendly and hospitable.

I stayed here for 2 nights, and the hotel was very modern yet relaxed and not too invasive. Check in was hassle free and the room was clean, modern and good standard considering the price I paid was around £50 a night. You won't find that in Travelodge or somewhere even like Premier Inn. I preferred this hotel to anywhere else in Reading I've stayed and I also got breakfast included in the price for 2 guests! The breakfast was fantastic and open until 12pm, which was really handy as I am not an early bird. Everything about this hotel was perfect and I will certainly book here again when I next come to Reading next year. Great hotel, thank you!

Hotel itself is fine. Clean, comfortable and a great location - but do not use the fast check out option - they pre-approve your card for double the room value, which then takes 5+ days to fall off the authorisations on your bank account - so you may not be able to access YOUR funds during this time. Very poor

Stayed 2 nights and nothing to complain about. Front desk very helpful with accurate information about the town. Breakfast is ample and fresh, and staff very friendly. They will hold luggage for you when you check out.

I stayed here for work as my usual hotel was full. In summary: 13 floors and only 1 lift working. Bathrooms are claustrophobic. Had to pay separately for breakfast, room and parking which was frustrating.

Hotel Ibis in Reading has an Excellent location! walking distance from Reading Station and Oracle shopping mall!. Staff are very helpful and always willing to help!. Thank you for your excellent service!.

comfy bed, decent brekkie .. I asked for a quiet room and got one. Friendly reception staff. Good value and good position in Reading for lots of shops and restaurants. Good air conditioning, as the weather was 26 degrees. 2 min walk from train station (with the direct quick coach to Heathrow as well). Ive stayed in 4 Ibis' in the UK and they've all been good.

I frequently stay at the hotel, however at the end of this particular week I asked if I could leave some toiletries etc as myself and my wife were going to Paris to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary and would be back the following Monday. When we arrived back at the hotel after a great weekend we were surprised to find that in our room there was an Anniversary card, a bottle of Prosecco and 2 large slices of amazing chocolate cake which were beautifully decorated. My wife was quite emotional to see this and it just made a perfect weekend even better. As I said I stay regularly at this hotel as the staff are so friendly and helpful. People say customer service is declining, but the above review just shows that some companies do still have staff who care about their customers . Thanks you very much IBIS Reading

We always stay at the Ibis when visiting family and friends in Reading. Its bright and cheerful, clean, neat and tidy and has great staff, who are professional, friendly and thoughtful. The rooms are clean and very well presented and have all that you may need. The breakfasts are great too, catering for everyone. Good coffee too - always a bonus.

Still no recycling in hotel - shocking for nowadays. Also we had to leave early our last morning and pre arranged a veggie breakfast for two the day before - we were greeted to a breakfast with meat for 1, no spoon, no milk, no clean hot water for tea. It was really disappointing. Hotel in good location and staff mainly good. Room basic.

Good things: Clean, comfortable, just what I needed. Air con and shower facilities were excellent. Nice bar area which was nice to use, lots of flexibility for breakfast re. time and selection. Stuff i found a bit annoying: Had to swipe key card to use the lift, multi storey car park a short walk from hotel - multiple trips needed. Didn't bother me but: the street outside is noisy

Very nice hotel and staff, and room was very nice. Only stayed for one night, so cannot make any real issue out of it any problems face. The only main problem I encountered was the key lock on my door was faulty or there was a particular knack to getting the swipe card to work, tried many recoded swipe cards from the lobby, and was sheer luck I got back into the room after the 3rd recoded card, after that I didn't dare leave the room in the evening in case I couldn't get back into my room again - it was late on a Sunday I doubt there would have been any engineer to fix it/force the door open. Minor issue as was only staying one night, had it been longer, could have been a more serious issue (business trip for example?). Only other issue - but probably unique to myself, and for other people could be perfectly fine, was I found the bed mattress way too hard for myself. One plus though and I don't think Ibis in Reading highlight it as well as they should, is that the bedrooms DON'T face the main road, so they are quite silent from road noise (at least in the evenings). Overall nice stay, friendly staff.. not quite sure on the lack of a organized check in desk (the hotel uses an informal greeting system), as can quite disorganized if multiple parties arrive at the same time. Also wifi broadband was surprisingly good, fast, even via a VPN (which is allowed, ports aren't blocked). WOULD STAY AGAIN, AND HAVE ALREADY RECOMMENDED TO MY CLIENT AS A PLACE TO STAY IN READING. Need to do something about the room keylocks though, or of course I could just have been unlucky on the day.
