Overall the hotel was a nice experience and I recommend it. I would certainly stay there again if I need! PROS The hotel is well situated in a quiet and safe neighborhood, close to the highway, and 10 minutes away from Basel by train, there is a train station 10 – 15 minutes walking distance and trains run every 10 minutes. It offers free parking, in front of the hotel and in the basement, otherwise it’s easy to find a place to park around in the neighborhood. The rooms are clean and the personnel of the hotel is very friendly and helpful, there is a young lady that speaks at least 4 languages (EN, DE, FR & ES) and she made us feel very welcomed and helped us with very useful information, it was our 1st time in Switzerland. The hotel offers also as a courtesy to the guests a transport card that allows you to use buses, trams & trains for free for the time of your stay, which was very useful as we wanted to visit the city and it seems there are not many parking places and they can be quite expensive (compared to other countries in Europe) It’s very close also to an Ikea shop and a shopping mall. CONS The rooms are a bit smaller compared to similar Ibis Budget in other countries like Germany and Austria, we stayed there in 2 occasions and in both of them there was not enough shower liquid, I always bring some from home just in case, so that was not really an issue.

A perfect hotel for one night. The beds were perfect. The room is small but everything you need is there. The shower room is perfect. Good quiet location not far from the highway. Good price. Breakfast is modest, could be a bit cheaper.

Comfortable, clean and nice staff. Very good choice for an hotel to stay for a short period of time! the breakfast tasted like home made! The room is simple but the mattress is good to sleep.Next year I will be there again!

Location was a real shock, in the corner of an industrial/retail complex. Room was clean as were bedding/towels. Breakfast was terrible and very poor value for money. Walk from station was difficult as often no pavement and poor lighting. There is a really good new McDonald's around the block; highlight of my stay. I will not be going back

This was just a quick stop off for sleep, shower and breakfast after 16 hours of driving. Arrived about 11pm and was greeted very politely in English (the guy on check in / reception told me he looks at the car registration plates as you pull in to the car park and tries to great you in your own language). The room was basic but spotless and had everything i needed, including a TV with channels in a number of languages, including BBC1 and BBC2. Unlimited Continental style buffet breakfast is included as is a 1 hour slot of free Wi Fi. If you want luxury and silver service dinners then this is not for you, but if you need a break while travelling it's spot on and for around £40.00 you really couldn't ask for more

You will surely not recall this hotel for its style and beauty and not even for its location (n the middle of an industrial site in the immediate outskirts of Basel -unless you plan to go shopping to Ikea or to the numerous shops nearby) but it is very practical (the tram n. 14 takes you directly to the city center in 20 min and the tram station is "only" 10 min walk from the hotel), clean and organized and last but not least also quite convenient (with private outdoor and indoor parking included in the room price). If the hotels in the center of Basel are too expensive or fully booked, well, this hotel might be quite good an option.

Rooms are tiny, you step into the shower which is next to the bed (a little cubicle) the water flows out and floods the floor..... You don't get a bathmat only two very small thin towels! Bed was awful to sleep in. I've slept in better caravan parks, I actually felt like I was camping. The young lady on the desk was very helpful and friendly, setting us in the right direction for dinner which we were able to walk to. I'm rating the service as very good - this is purely being rated on the staff member not the overall hotel.

It was a hotel. It was a hot day. I like the fact that I only stayed one night. I did not like the room. The AC did not work and the windows opened only a little. It was a miserable night sweating in the room. One of the worst experiences I've ever had in a hotel.

The design of the room is terrible and the size of it is a real joke. The "budget" part actually means that you are paying hotel price, but would be better off in a hostel as they have much higher quality than this. Room was dirty, the curtain was falling apart and the place seems like it hasn't seen a coat of paint for 20 years.

At Ibis you know what you get, this accomodation is fine for a couple of days and cheaper then other hotels in the area. Situated at a commercial/industrial estate but the railway station is only 600 meters away so Basel and many other places are not that far away!

Clean hotel with good access to Pratteln station. Just 7 minute train ride from Basel SBB station, but cheeper than city centre prices. Rooms clean but basic, ensure you have a Swiss plug converter for sockets. Second time I have used hotel and would use again. Only 1 lift so quicker to use stairs at Breakfast!

The staff were very friendly, especially Victoria. The room was small, but clean typical of all Ibis hotels. Good location, free bus, train & tram tickets (for all guests). Breakfast was very limited.

My wife and I spent 2 weeks traveling through Europe with no itinerary or plans. The Ibis Hotel chain was our backup plan for any nights we could not find a cozy little B&B tucked away in some romantic spot. We stayed at Ibis Hotels due to their fair price, consistency in good service, clean rooms and not to be forgotten . . . . their great staff. However, this location was the exception to the rule. There were a few minor issues that a traveler might want to be aware of. 1). The electric switches are designed so that the adapters for U.S. electric devices; cell phone chargers, computer adapters, hair dryers, would not fit into the wall plugs. 2). The Hotel WiFi was difficult to access and extremely slow, worse than a dial up speed. 3). Room location. Beaware that if you are located in the front of the Hotel near the entrance you will not be able to open the window due to all of the cigarette smoke from the people all standing outside the entrance. The smoking area should not be near the front entrance where Guests arrive or affect the rooms. 4). Location. The Hotel is located in a commercial area with poor access to the city center. The location is freeway / highway accessible with a small shopping area within walking distance; groceries, snacks ( small indoor mall ). 5). Just an FYI for the Hotel. The morning Host seemed more interested in chatting with friends than taking care of the Guests. This was the only Ibis Hotel during our two week travels through Europe that I would not recommend.

clean, well build and almost brand-new. Easy to reach from the high-way and with free parking and wifi, something you really need when quickly moving from distance locations. Obviously is basic, but this particular F1-like hotel is great compared to other I have been recently. Well managed, quiet and safe. Only problem the cost, almost at the same level of an ibis. But this is what you get in Switzerland.... and nothing compared to other hotel.

The receptionist is very polite and helpful. The room is simple, very comfortable and clean with reasonable price. The location is a bit far from the SBB station but is still acceptable. It is better to have hair dryer inside the room just like other ibis hotel.

Although quite close to the autbahn the hotel was a little hard to find so signs from the main road would help. The hotel itself was immaculate. The staff very welcoming and friendly and signing in was completed very quickly. The room was very clean, tidy and comfortable. I had an excellent night's sleep and an enjoyable breakfast in the morning. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Conference on in Basel so booked this hotel a little way out (note; increasingly happening in Basel, book in advance!) Very basic; no toiletries, thin towels but clean rooms and decent breakfast. Too far out of Basel and wouldn't feel particularly safe if I was a lone female as it's on a secluded site down a dark road.

Very basic, but OK for short stay-passing on way to Italy. Easy to find - close to motor way. Nothing to do in close environment: No entertainment, no food. But all the essentials for a good night sleep were available

ideal for stopover on journey between Germany and Italy very good service at reception difficult to park the car on parking place just outside, but possibility to park at Coop, a few steps away small rooms, though good enough for night rest close to shopping centrum and Ikea
