The hotel is very convenient for Dives sur Mer town centre and Cabourg Casino and beach. Have stayed here several times and always been pleased. However, this time, at 14:20 the automatic check in system assigned room #101. We found that the room had not been made up - a previous guest's bed linen still there. The guests in the room opposite had found the same thing. For a time, it seemed as if we were stuck with an unacceptable room - hotel staff seemed nowhere to be found. Eventually we managed to find a member of the hotel staff and asked to be given a room that had been prepared. Was told to wait and our room would be made up quickly. It was - but the floor was then wet through having just been mopped. Clearly the hotel has a defective check-in process that permits the automatic system to assign a room to a guest even thought the room has not been made up. A small defect: as well as having no latch/fastener, the toilet door would not close completely - it was too large for its frame. That was obviously a defect of installation that should not have been accepted at the time of installation and should not have been left in that condition. Personally I do not like the Ibis room configuration where the wash basin is in the bedroom, so can only be used in full view of the room. Apart from these issues, the stay was fine, as always at Ibis Dives sur mer.

This hotel is located behind a Lidls supermarket which makes an excellent landmark and therefore easy to find. I didn't notice any bars or restaurants in the locality. Why do I say it's different? Well, I'd recommend it for a person travelling alone and looking for an overnight stopover but not for couples or longer stays. The bedroom is clean and the bed is comfortable and bedding is clean and good condition. There is a small flat screen TV in the corner of the room and lighting can be controlled by controls on the headboard which is a nice touch. The facilities tend to let it down though. The shower and washbasin are actually IN the bedroom area. The toilet is divided off, but with a very flimsy thin 'plywood-type' door with large gaps top and bottom and no signs of any handle on the inside (why?) As a lone traveller, this is fine, but would give no privacy whatsoever if travelling as a couple. There is no wardrobe in the room, just a pole placed on the wall with 5-6 hangers on it.

This is a friendly, clean, secure, comfortable hotel with good private parking, situated right on the banks of the river Dives, and very near the pretty little town of Cabourg. It is particularly suitable for walkers as the magnificent seafront and river are very close to the hotel, as are shops, supermarkets and restaurants. Also, the ferry port of Ouistreham is just 30 minutes away, as are all the invasion beaches and monuments.

Used this Ibis budget hotel as a one night stopover on the way back from our holiday in La Baule before returning to the UK, via Calais. It was excellent, found it easily, check-in great, room very, very good, couldn't fault it, clean and comfortable. Good position, within easy reach of Cabourg and Dives Sur Mer.

We arrived at the hotel and was informed that we did not have a booking and there was no space available. After much stress and about one hour of discussion that it was an IBIS problem and they should find us alternative accommodation they eventually booked us into IBIS budget hotel 25 miles away at Liesure. I managed to contact a help line who informed me that my booking was on the computer and they could not understand why it was not showing on the computer at Dives sur mer!!!!!! I emailed my complaint to IBIS but I have had no contact from them or any sort of apology.!!!!!!! We had to spend our trip in a town instead of by the sea. Not what you would expect from IBIS

On the outskirts of Cabourg but within 15 minutes walk of the town this is a good stopover. Our room overlooked the train station and there was some noise when service resumed at 6am but we soon got used to it. The outside area was very attractive and was well tended. The room was very clean and very good value.

The stay experience was fine. The only problem was trying to find the place in the dark. The map on the web page should give directions from the main roads. As the address is on a relatively new minor road {onto a cycle track}, niether of the Sat Navs I had could identify the address.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable; breakfast was good value, fresh and goodvariety. The outside seating area and gardens were well kept. The staff were friendly and polite. The location is superb, we hope to visit again.
