Grim overall. The fixtures and fitting were grubby and need to be repainted. The corridors were very dusty along the skirting boards. There was a shower in a strange enclosure in the room itself. The toilet made weird noises all night. The cistern must have been air-locked. Hairdryer available from reception for £10 deposit. Two receptionists were on duty when I arrived, neither made eye contact. I thought they were guests charging their laptops in the the lobby. There were no staff uniforms to identify them. I did the online check in and was promised a special text to tell me how to get to the hotel. This never arrived. I was checked in by one of these men on a mobile phone. I have no idea what they were using the laptops for if not hotel business. There were no toiletries provided, save a single bar of soap. The breakfast was OK, served in the small lobby, but I would not book it again. It would be better to grab a coffee and pastry from a café: cheaper and better quality. The bed had a thin foam mattress which was not the full size of the built in bed. There was a hair in the bed when I arrived but the sheets did appear to have been changed. One pillow and one towel provided per person. The room was noisy as the hotel is directly under the flight path but this is to be expected. The location was 3 minutes from a bus stop (Connaught Bridge), 7 minutes from the DLR station (Pontoon Dock), walking distance from both London City Airport and the Excel. Even though this is London I feel the €110 price tag was steep for what I got.
