With my AccorPlus Platinum status, I enjoyed free upgrade to a harbour view room though my booking was a standard room. I checked-in via internet and informed hotel of early morning arrival. Thanks the front desk staff for being accommodative. I managed to checked in at 9.30am. Before my travel, I read about the cleanliness issues and was quite concerned, but my room was ok. Though was small, bed and towels were clean and comfortable. It was a value stay as comparing to other hotels in HK. The only complaint was Ibis North Point restaurant. I stayed there 4 nights and took 3 breakfast and 1 dinner in the hotel. I regretted for prepaid my breakfast as we did not enjoy eating there. This restaurant was operated to suit convenient of the staffs but not the guests and I noticed not many people eating there. The first bf I took at 9.00am, 98% of tables were vacant but >90% placed with reserved sign and only few tables were allocated to guests. Noodle finished never replenish. No “freshly cooked vegetables". Lots of wastage or left over food, eg. bake bean, beacons, sausages, scramble eggs, oak and squares breads etc… Fruits were not cut which was inconvenient for guests to eat so end up “never eat” and only took the “Can” fruits that was ready. The morning breakfast start at 6:30am. On my last day checked out, we were rushing for 7:05am bus, so went for bf at 6:15 am with 2 luggages. The staff refused to let us wait at the restaurant and we had to bring our baggages from 2nd floor to first floor, and moved up again after10 minutes. I peeled that attitude of the staff was too rigid. Perhaps, Ibis could partition a small portion at 2nd level for the guests to sit around prior to opening hour.
