Good sleep and simple but good breakfast. Room, especially bathroom and toilet very basic. Hotel ist situated very central and you have short distances to nightlife locations, bars, restaurants and the very nice parc "Herrengarten".
We got here late at night, the code machine gave us our door numbers, but luckily someone arrived back to the hotel because the codes didn't work on the door to get into the hotel! Staff in the morning were great and hotel rooms were clean and comfortable. There's an ibis non budget next door luckily because we had forgotten to get the parking ticket verified/paid before reception closed- so they helped there instead.
Very good location, the bed not best, but room is quiet. To stay in Darmstadt for small money, best place. City center is nearby. Darmstadt has lots to see, my favourite is Hundertwasser architecture.
For one night stop and get together with friends is very good. The breakfast is very basic but the price is good. Free wi-fi good speed. Walking distance for a quick morning shoping before my flight. Room was clean.
I stayed here for the weekend for a second time. I found it affordable budget wise. The rooms are big, spacious and clean. It's also located very close to the gas station , shops , pubs and tube station. They also have a parking space located down stairs " underground car park " In all for the money paid and whats on offer, it's good value for money.
It was OK to stay for a short stay! Only problem I experienced was the late check-in thing! The machine charged me more than once and gave an error! So I couldn't get in.. The IBIS hotel receptionist helped me to get my code to enter to the hotel and room... If he wasn't there as well I would have stayed outside.. This machine needs to be replaced or repaired.. My stay was satisfactory to summarize..
For the price it is excellent if you get a room to the rear, and good if it is to the road. My first night was to the road but they happily swopped me to the rear for the remaining 3 nights. Breakfast is limited but good enough. There is also an automat for coffee etc at other times - the coffee and hot chocolate are both good. And there is good beer from another machine - all at very reasonable prices. My 8th stay.
I won't recommend it to anyone. Hotel is not clean enough, stunk of smoke. And I booked two rooms for five people and they gave me only one and no option for the remaining. The room that they gave there was a pillow missing.
The standard worth its price. So for those with limited budget it is a hotel to rent. All facilities (shops and restaurants) within walking distance. But if you want coffee in the room bring your own electric kettle and other accessories.
My room No. was 106. It was very smelly. I assumed it was from a sewage pipe. As I thought I cound bear it because I stayed only one night, I did not say anything to hotel staffs. However, it was terrible. Although it was a budget hotel, it was unacceptable price if I consider of this smell and no shampoo. I will never stay there again!
No shampoo, no hair dryer in the room. Plain and simple. But clean. Appropriate for short business trips. 20 minutes walking from train station. 10 minutes to city center. If you are not succesful with auto check in machine, try checking in the Ibis which is around the corner.
Staff polite, kindness and helpfull.Breakfast excellent.Location in city center near main shops and restaurants.Sleeping conditions silent,.no noise and excellent. The sleeping room, had no wardrobe at all.
We chose this hotel only because it was really hot and they have aircondition, and it was a mistake. It was same temperatura outside and inside. The aircondition was the worst ever! Could not sleep it was too hot in this room with so called A/C......
This was my second stay here and again I was perfectly satisfied: a correct, clean room at a good price. Free internet. Some traffic noise in the morning but what else do you expect in a town? A good choice of restaurants nearby. Some reviewers are damning about the underground car park. Yes, it is a bit tight, but perfectly manageable with all but the largest car. Sugestions it is impossible to get in or out say more about the reviewers' manoevring skills than about the garage!
Service is good, rooms are small, but for this price is ok. Thank you very much, reception personal and cleaning ladys were good. Thank you very much, reception personal and cleaning ladys were good. !
I arrived at the hotel much later than expected, and as usual the reception was closed. No big deal, I thought, as a machine for automatic check-in is normally available. Nevertheless, despite several attempts with no less than three credit cards and a debit card, I was totally unable to get one of the many rooms apparently available (I guess that the connection was simply down). Happily enough, just around the corner there is an Ibis hotel and I could get there a room last minute... of course, at a different rate than the one I had envisaged. I noticed at least another customer facing the same situation that evening.
I have stayed at ibis budget hotels several times but this hotel has the poorest breakfast, coldest rooms and bad parking places. Breakfast consist of egg, bread.Even no cheese at all.A/C doesnt give heat. Therefore you will get frozen at nights.
Parking awful (poor access). An elevator GRUBBY to drive the guest parking lot to a small door that gives access to the reception. Worst of all the hotels we passed in Germany - Hungary - Austria and Switzerland. The first impression I got, completely denigrated the image of ACCOR. We arrived and as the reception was closed (we knew that) we went to the other Hotel IBIS next map and to obtain information about the city. To our surprise, we were VERY BADLY TREATED by Receptionist on 08/10 at the time of 1pm. Treated us with little notice, and gave us the impression that we were disrupting their service and was not to blame for the reception of the hotel we booked is closed. Neither seemed that the two hotels were ACCOR network. How about reviewing this situation - not information can be requested? REGRETTABLE. The least that is expected is: education, respect and courtesy.
Don't go in this hotel, it just like a prison cell. the rooms are ugly without phone, without chair, without wardrobe, the bed is only an uncomfortable mattress on a hard board, difficult to sleep on it !
The hotel is a standard Etap - sorry, Ibis Budget - - no frills, decent value. Friendly receptionist, room fine - clean and comfortable. If you arrive by car the entrance is not obvious - signs appear too late: I drove round the block twice! The (free) underground car park is not an easy place to manoeuvre a large car, especially when entering and leaving! I ignored the Aussie restaurant next door and the Greek one opposite and walked about 200 metres towards the town centre and found a German "Gasthaus" called "Die Theke" (Rheinstrasse 26). Excellent German food - I had a brilliant Schnitzel - and a large choice of German beers on tap. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly waitress and very reasonable prices. I'd certainly go there again. If you are looking for an overnight stop in the area I'd recommend this place - and Die Theke!
