I chose to stay at Ibis Gare de Nord because of it's location close to the railway station and underground. The location is only 15 min walking to the old city centre, and close to several good restaurants. The room I was given was spacious and clean and recently redecorated with a musical theme. On the walls of the room there was hanging an electric guitar and some '80s and '90s rock disc plates along with some pictures of famous rock musicians. I found the same inspirational design applied to the bathroom :). I was nicely impressed by the idea and although the hotel is not the most modern this gave the impression of a live space. The breakfast was mostly basic, with some local products, I think this could be improved and would bring more value to the hotel.
nice hotel just for sleep, the food is good and not expensive. very close to the train and metro. in the shower sometimes the water changed bitween cold and hot but we let the reception know and they fix it.
I think the hotel needs more employees for the restaurants, are some delays in attending customers at the dinner time. The room was lovely, the place is clean, thankful services for the breakfast, overall was a pleasant stay
For the first time I had the opportunity to stay in an apartment at the hotel Ibis, Gara de Nord, Bucharest. I was planning to do a lot of work and I found the space and tranquility to be very beneficial. the large sized bedroom and sympathetic decor aided rest and I got a good night's sleep throughout my stay in what is quite a busy part of Bucharest. So i would stronly recommend trying out the apartments in this hotel especially if you have some work to do.
Nice, friendly and warm team of Ibis Bucharest Gara de Nord Hotel! Each time when I visited Bucharest I was their guest and I will always be because of their special treatment dedicated to their clients! Thank you !!!
Close to metro station, comfortable bed, good breakfast The metro station it is in the front to hotel, the breakfast is from 04:00 to 10:00 and very good, the personal it is kind, the hotel is close to railways station Gara de Nord
The breakfast - and specially the breakfast room - rather poor. Never a smile. Never good morning. Never any control of who is eating. I never gave my roomnumber during the 3 days. Que for coffe. No English breakfast tea.
I spent two nights at the ibis Gara Nord Hotel. It is perfectly located, if you come from Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (Bus 780 stays at the railway station Gara Nord, which is so close from the hotel). If you want to spend some time in the center, you can use the subway (the entrance is located in front of the hotel, there are two subway lines). I booked the music room-it is a standard ibis red room with some musical decorations. Not really bad. The room war quite big (separate table) and clean (in the second day the room service was barely at 4 pm there, so it was a little bit late). The bathroom was ok, but the shower not really tidy (or maybe old). The prices from the card were really ok, so I can recommend it. Check in ok, but I got no answer on my question about daily ticket (fyi daily ticket is valid only on the day, when you validate it, not 24h long). The breakfast was ok, but not really amazing. The service was overloaded with work, there were no cups, the products were not replenished, the dirty plates stood for a long time on the tables. I asked, if I could get a cup for my coffee. I got an answer, that it is maybe not possible, because there were not enough. All in all I can recommend this hotel only because of the prices and location.
Dirty room, smelly even after ventilation, with dirty carpet. Renting such a room, denotes lack of respect for customers. Good, clean restaurant with friendly staff and very good service. Good, freshly cooked food.
I stayed in room 635, the follor was dirty and greasy so I passed my time with shoes on ( there was no slippers in the room wich is unusual for ibis). No bottle of water in the room which is unusual for ibis
Place needs some work done to raise the standards of the hotel, especially the bedroom where we (a family of three) stayed (Room 619). Although we switched off the heating, it was uncomfortably warm. If you open the window, then the sound from the street keeps you awake. The buffet breakfast is OK, a decent choice of food and beverages. We stayed there four nights and the buffet was the same everyday: very monotonous. However, the location is excellent: the entrance to the Mertro is just outside the hotel and the Central Train Station (Gara de Nord) ia about 100 metres from the hotel. There are mini-markets within walking distance and a selection of eateries in the Station. A decent restaurant is across the road (Steak House) but if you want a choice of restaurants, head toward the Old Town - easily accessible by Metro.
The staff was very kind, the room was clean enough, the breakfast was good. The location was very good because it was near the railway station and the other means of transport. I was able to use Wi Fi which was very important for me. I will come back. Thank you.
Centrally located, next to underground and railway station, rater big rooms, a bit worn out but still ok. I use to stay there when in Bucharest because it seems to me to be the best low-budget and at the same most convenient place in town.
Decent place for the money spent. Near the subway and the train station. Quite near the Victoriei square. The parking place requires extra cost, but, at least, you have this option available. Quiet place.
A short walk from the Main Line railway and metro station. The staff, are really friendly, helpful and informative. They speak very good English which I found extremely helpful. The hotel is very clean, the Wifi was good on the 6th floor and I really enjoyed my stay.
It is basic but clean and comfortable. Location is good if take train and right next to Metro station. But a bit out from the main tourist sites and nothing happening in the area. Since metro is cheap, so not big issue.
pros: near train station modern rooms clean worth the value of the money con: costumer service is not very good nor friendly i booked ahead of time but they didn't get me a room several times and made me wait until the rooms are open even though i reserved and booked ahead of time,
I stayed in many Ibis Hotels around the world but this one was just average. It was actually clean but didn't look clean :) The worse was the area, it's in center Bucharest but I didn't feel safe when was out :(
Ibis Bucharest is located 5 minutes walk from the central railway station. At the check in we've been told that the hotel has both smoking and non-smoking rooms although the hotel is advertise as 100% non-smoking on the Accor site. Not to mention that there is a law which makes smoking inside prohibited in Romania. Also the hotel is supposed to be air conditioned according to Accor hotels website, which is not the case. Otherwise no complaints. Staff is friendly and the hotel is good value for the price you pay.
It should be advised to all clients who stay at all Ibis Hotels in Romania, to check at the arrival about the vouchers and reductions you can get during your stay. The People at the Front Desk are not always advised about the Extra Saver Package, the vouchers for reductions for the meals in the Restaurant during your stay : you have to find out yourself at your own request, and for each Hotel of Ibis, the conditions are different for each Hotel. Here is a big job to do for the General Management of Ibis Hotels Romania, to clear up this mess and set up the same condtions for each Ibis Hotel. Ex : Ibis Constanta : you get 15% off for meals in the restaurant durining your stay, but not on the drinks. ibis Bucharest Gara de Nord : you only get 20% reduction if you booked a Extra Saver Package. This need a general standard for all Ibis Hotels in Romania. About the botte of water wich is included in Extra Saver Package : you have to tell to Front Desk not to charge the bottle you used in the room. Due to this reason I only give "average" to Service. Besides the people are not to blame, the Management should try to find another matter as : you get the reductions any how, if you have used the meals in the restaurant, and they should be deducted on the final account when you leave. NEVER FORGET TO TIP THE PEOPLE OF THE RESTAURANT BY YOUR OWN INITIATIVE : 10% to 15%, just as a reward. Their salaries are very low.
