I have not stayed in this property for several years and I found that although the place is in need of an upgrade, the staff are all friendly and helpful, the food in the restaurant is good and the location is also good. It is a good value for money property and I will return here on my next trip.

Negatives - Very small room; hard to access and tiny bathroom, expensive for the size of the room, fridge not plugged in and you had to be a contortionist to plug it in. Positives - Staff at front counter were friendly; 24 hour bar; food was good from the bar restaurant; comfy bed; location.

Check in was very good with Alana,(incorrect spelling!) info good, very pleasant, friendly and helpful. During my 4 night stay all the staff were friendly and helpful. Check out equally so with Taylah, who was also very bubbly during my stay and always had a smile on her face. I loved the breakfasts and dinners and the choices were very reasonable. The room was very clean as was the whole hotel and the bed very comfortable. I had good sleeps every night even though I was close to the lift, it was quiet. There were a lot of people staying on a few days and noise was never a problem. The shower was hot once it got going and very powerful too. I did mention while checking out that it was one of the best hotels I had stayed in and I am looking forward to staying there the next time I visit Newcastle.

Yet another great Ibis! This hotel is in an excellent location within easy walking distance of all you need for a good stay. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times, rooms comfortable clean and well-equipped. At the end of my stay, I arrived at the airport to find it closing due to bush fires. On my return to the hotel there was a warm, reassuring and sympathetic welcome, and it was good to be able to spend my extra night back “home” at the Ibis!

In comparison to some of the other Ibis hotels I've stayed at this has by far been the best. Great sized rooms, comfy bed, clean, air conditioning, quiet and a good location. I'll always stay here when I'm in Newcastle.

Overall the hotel was good the rooms are very small & in my opinion aren't worth $700/night for Friday & Saturday night. I understand that it was a peak weekend but to double the price for 2 nights is ridiculous. there was an overcharge on our bill when we checked out but the Ladies on the front desk were more than helpful in rectifying the overcharge.

Service was excellent from when I checked in to checked out. Hotel is is a little older but had everything I needed. Great position to walk down to the water front for dinner and exercise. Would definitely stay again.

I called into the hotel an hour before the due date to cancel the booking due to a plumbing leak in my house - the lovely person on reception helped me rebook the room for a later date (just wish I had her name however the date was Oct 26th thanks she was very good had lovely phone manner and pleasant to speak to we had a laugh about water all through my house I needed it

We had a carless family walking holiday stay at the Ibis which is well situated for public transport. The Ibis is near the shopping area of Marketown, within the city free transport area, the new Newcastle train station is about 500 yards away, the Stockton ferry about 25 minutes walk along the Hunter river and bus stops nearby for both transport into the city and to all localities outside the city. The hotel itself is of a good quality as you would expect of a 3*. There was a good selection of food a breakfast. The hotel staff were very friendly, cheerful and helpful...going that extra yard to make the stay enjoyable. We were able to maximise the benefits of public transport with the use of the Opal card doing A to B walks mainly along the coastal areas Stockton and Swansea beaches even taking in the final section of the Great North Walk from Charlestown to Newcastle. There is a lot of construction going on in the city area and when this is completed the Newcastle experience will be even more enhanced.

We have a 1 nite stopover from Port Stephens and the hotel is very centrally located. The front office staff was very friendly and we checked in with no problem at all. It is a small hotel after all but it is still clean and i like the toilet cubicle..very cool.. altho it may posed a space problem for someone big in size. The bed was comfortable and equipped with complimentary drinks. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and its amazing the front office staff double up as service staff too taking food orders. We used our complimentary drink vouchers to go with our meal and it was really good and the food was good too, For a small hotel, I do not expect a big spread of breakfast but it serves its purpose and I am happy with it. The small croissants which came out fresh from the oven was soo good that I have 4 pieces.. Also we meet the Nepalese room cleaners and they were very friendly and courteous.. I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend anyone who needs a great stop over.

A great little Ibis in the heart of Newcastle's main street. You can walk anywhere from the hotel down to the waterfront bars and along the harbour foreshore. Rooms are standard for an Ibis but are very comfortable and clean. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. A great value for money hotel.

Warm, friendly, informative staff. Clean tidy rooms. Excellent light meals. Central Newcastle. Easy access to other parts of Newcastle. Only problem is the noise on the Saturday night. Lots of young people playing loud music before they head out for the night.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was the standard Ibis room with Queen bed and bathroom - very clean. The only negative is a safety issue with water from the shower flooding the bathroom and making the floor very slippery.

Well located, easy walk to local shops, pubs and restaurants. On the main road, but surprisingly quite. Clean and comfortable with very friendly and professional staff. Standards were better than I expected for a budget hotel. Happy to stay there again anytime.

Stayed there a couple of times over a few weeks the first time was fantastic and I had no real problems The second time we stayed the room was definetly not as clean the bathroom had hair all through it and I had a flickering light that I advised to the hotel staff 15 mins after checkin that was still not fixed 3 days later when we left I would stay there again it's good value oh and the food is good aswell

My stay was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location was ideal for me. And it was good value for money. The room was tidy and adequate. Ideally, would have preferred more channel options on the Television. I look forward to staying there on my next trip.

IBIS Newcastle is great value in a great location and the practical, clean and tidy rooms have everything your need. Staff are super efficient and friendly. On site parking is great for people who travel from Sydney for work.

Knew that we were going to arrive quite late at night, reception called to assure our room during the day. Arrived at 11:15pm and had a hassle free and fast check in. Quality breakfast. Fast checkout.

Stayed a few nights on business trip and I have no complaints. Plenty of parking the staff are very friendly and the breakfast very good, spoilt for choice. I always try and book through Ibis when in Newcastle.

The dinning was 1st class including breakfast service is very good the only problem is small regarding car parking is open not good in rain. The hotel is great we have now booked at ibis style Canberra for 3 nights 3/3/4/April
